I got mine now. thanks to this videos that really makes me like Neo more. the value for money and being a drone that is hassle free, user friendly, and not needing to consume time to setup before flying is just great.
I never owned a drone before the Neo, I got it just to take some quick footage on vacations or when training. I got the fly more option, so I have a little more control when using the drone during vacation. Up until now I used it to shoot some quick video during my running training. It just is fantastic for that, you put it in a little trail-running backpack get it out on a suitable location, turn it on, choose the mode, run off and it follows you like a faithful puppy, stop, reach out your hand, it lands, put it back on your backpack and all done. After the run you get in on your phone in a few minutes and you can edit it in less than half an hour. there is no collision detection so you have to keep that in mind. (no narrow trails) It's a little slow for biking, you won't film a sprint with it. Tested it out in my parents garden, took it up over 100 m high, flew through the trees with my smartphone on the controller to guide me, played around with it some more and it works great. it's more than enough for what I want. I have some RC experience, and the controls are so easy to pick up. the thing is so stable. Yeah learning to master a third dimension is a process ;) when you come from cars and boats. You just have to be baffled that all this sits in a 199$/€ drone. This review just confirms everything I felt and thought this little bugger, and well, it comes from someone with way more experience with drones than me. But I can confirm, this little thing is super easy to use and it fits in a large pocket, ideal for sport vlogging !
You may already know this, but if you use custom and tracking you can have it track you from any direction, not just front or back. So you stand sideways to it when you have it "Map" you, and it will stay to your side when you run. Or any other place around you in 360 degrees.
@@KevinVenturePhilippines Yep, but it seems to be wonky at the moment, in general the drone ends up chasing again, but I set that one on low medium and the actual chase on high medium. Gives an easy way to diversify the shots without getting the phone out. But having it track you from the side would be fun too. Hopefully the mode is fixed with the latest firmware update.
@@kelly_eagle It doesn't like wind all that much. It's light an small. People complain it doesn't work even in a light breeze, I don't know what people consider as a light breeze though. I used it on a slightly windy day and it coped quite well actually, drains the battery I suppose. There is this video of a guy using it at a VERY windy beach and the neo gets an absolute beating, yet the footage is surprisingly stable.
I just wanted to know and curios, how does it record on tracking mode on when the environment with plenty of people around? Such as beach with many people or city walk . Does it track different people on the scene and somehow lost our tracking mode?
As far as I know, it won't track anyone else because it only allows one person tracking, so when you face the drone towards your face and fly it, the AI recognition will make it so that the drone only focus on you. Anyways, that's what I know, I have yet to test it myself.
I’ve watched so many vids on this now and I’ve come to the conclusion that for the price it offers good value for money it is not going to be a top grade drone as your not paying that price tag. The footage is useable it does what is says on the box, if you want more your gonna have to pay more
dji's goal is to let people try the drone field. They probably saw that drone thing is still very niche thus opening the market more is needed for better revenue. This was a very good output from their product management team.

Great video. Got the Neo. Updates I want is a double tap or do something on the quick shot buttons on the top when its on a certain type to change the meters / distance. I know you can do it on the app but would e great to do it in the moment and being able to adjust or have a PRO mode in the app without having to use the controller.

How is distance flying with the RC 2 controller? I have one. I also have the goggles and flight stick. I understand the FPV gear, but for the Neo I’m interested in a little traditional controller connection as with the RC 2
Got mine yesterday, I love it but havent had a chance to use it much yet. It seems to me the ideal companion when out and about, if Im shooting for work Ill use the mini 3 pro but as something to get a few moments and have fun its absolutely brilliant. I hope DJI continue to expand its capabilities in updates but even as it is I find it great for capturing quick clips without it taking up loads of space in my kit bag. It really does need to have manual exposure when using just the app and drone.
This was a great video, sir!! Rare for me to watch all the way through. I’m definitely wanting this. I had a Mavic pro early… amazing what this little drone does, that the MP1 struggled with. Thanks for this very well made review. I do have to say that DJI should say thanks to Hover Air for their X1 and how well received that little drone was with the pre selectable flight modes.

So I'd like to use the drone to get some video clips of me and my buddies fishing. The boat will be moving very slowly and I'm concerned that the drone might not fly back to me since I won't be at the same "home" position when I launched it. Also, the boat has an awning, so everyone in the front half of the boat is in the shade. I'm worried that when I launch it (from the rear of the boat, not under the awning), the drone will have a clear view of me. But, if it circles the boat, I may disappear from the frame due to the awning blocking its view of me. What happens in that scenario?
I recently got the Avata 2 combo. I'm thinking of getting a Neo to learn how to fly Manual with sticks since I should be able to control it with the Goggles 3/Motion Controller 3 and FPV RC3 Controller. And I think it will survive more crashes than my Avata 2, while I practice. :) My only problem with the Neo is that it's a lot louder than the Avata 2, with a higher pitch 'scream'.
Im heading up to scotland and tempted to get this just to capture some footage because i want to keep things light, was gonna take my insta x2 and maybe this
It will. Or if you use custom tracking you can stand sideways to it when it maps you and you can have it track you from the side, or anywhere else in the circle around you. Just have it where you want it when it maps you and it will stay in that position as you move. And I agree, the handheld throws in another dimension.
I love my Neo. Definitely 👍. It's just a pain having to update the rc-n2 firmware every time I switch between the neo and the mini 4. It's so annoying 🙄
Thank you so much for this honest reviews. Really appreciated planning to have this drone.. but now I need to make more savings so. I can afford to buy.. thank you

@freshandsaltyjohnny gopro is an evil company The ceo is such scum. When he knew his stock was going to plummet. He donated stock, wrote the donation off his income at the peak price Essentially cashing some of his stock out at full value Not actually donating to help people The day he did that never liked his company anymore And anyway These days Ace pro and dji action pro 5 are the best action cameras period Ironic isn't it that the OG brand who invented those cameras stopped innovating. I blame the bad ceo Same way blackberry collapsed due to its ceo stopping innovation

Great video! Have you used it over water? If so, did you use it handheld, phone or controller? And how did it go?
Handheld is with the habd take off ai options or you mean with phone or controller?
I recently got the Avata 2 combo. I'm thinking of getting a Neo to learn how to fly Manual with sticks since I should be able to control it with the Goggles 3/Motion Controller 3 and FPV RC3 Controller. And I think it will survive more crashes than my Avata 2, while I practice. :)
My only problem with the Neo is that it's a lot louder than the Avata 2, with a higher pitch 'scream'.
Does the video show in full screen on Instagram?
Im heading up to scotland and tempted to get this just to capture some footage because i want to keep things light, was gonna take my insta x2 and maybe this
Great video , I didn't see the link for ND filters
Awesome video buddy. Just picked up the Neo and this has been really helpful!
Thanks mate 🙌😃
Selamlar sizde ekranda video modunda gece çekim görüyor bunun nedeni dji Rc2 kumanda kullanmanız mi???? Normalde gece modu yok
Will it track well from the front and stay in front as you move side to side?
It will. Or if you use custom tracking you can stand sideways to it when it maps you and you can have it track you from the side, or anywhere else in the circle around you. Just have it where you want it when it maps you and it will stay in that position as you move. And I agree, the handheld throws in another dimension.
@@KevinVenturePhilippines is that custom mode?
I love my Neo. Definitely 👍. It's just a pain having to update the rc-n2 firmware every time I switch between the neo and the mini 4. It's so annoying 🙄
Thank you so much for this honest reviews. Really appreciated planning to have this drone.. but now I need to make more savings so. I can afford to buy.. thank you
Best review, end of story! Bought it thanks to your video! also bought your Neo Lutpack which is absolutely phenomenal 🙌🙌 highly recommend this to anyone that wants to make their Neo videos look better.
Thanks mate 🙌😃
Love this review from NEO its amazing specially for the beginners ❤
did they update the video quality? doesnt seem to look so thrash now
finally flew mine today, its very good. a perfect companion to my air3 and avata2
Insta360 ace pro 2 coming in October (rumored). Would love if u compared it to the dji action pro 5. ❤ u so much
I'm loving my ace pro. Long GoPro user since the hero 2. I'll never go back to GoPro.
@freshandsaltyjohnny gopro is an evil company
The ceo is such scum. When he knew his stock was going to plummet. He donated stock, wrote the donation off his income at the peak price
Essentially cashing some of his stock out at full value
Not actually donating to help people
The day he did that never liked his company anymore
And anyway
These days
Ace pro and dji action pro 5 are the best action cameras period
Ironic isn't it that the OG brand who invented those cameras stopped innovating. I blame the bad ceo
Same way blackberry collapsed due to its ceo stopping innovation
If DJI would make a Neo Pro with a better camera, that would be a real game changer!
And who says that they are not going to? 😊
I absolutely love this little drone. I have a Maciv 3 and an Avata 2, but this little drone fits in my hand with my phone and wallet, and were gone! Very versatile.
Wich controller would you say is better. The one that you attach your phone to or the one with the build in screen.
RC2 with the screen for sure!
@@RobHK As I dive a little deeper I already see one huge advantage, that it can record to SD, so in risky situations at least you still have the footage. :) Thanks a lot
I have the Neo and it’s an all around fun drone, I also have a bunch of camera drones and fpv quads in my backpack, so now the Neo will reduce the weight.
Can I adjust the height ( i know distance can be adjusted) when l'm in circle mode using only the phone app?
Lovely backing music.
Will the neo track a boat? I shoot YT boating vids and want to get some quick shots ..
The hiking filming is beautiful.
Very nice footage. But there is not a chance you would get that video quality out of the box without good video editing. Nice work
This is the REVIEW I was looking for, simple and straightforward for a first time user trying to understand if the drone meets their needs.
Thanks man
Thanks man 👌😎
Great review!!
I just got mine today!!
Nice🙌😎
I don’t see the link for the ND filter for neo ?
Can i Connect The DJI wireless microphones?
Can you do low ground shots with it?
What was your flying time per battery ?
10-15 minutes per battery.
Will it follow me if I’m moving fast like on a skateboard
