Bought an Avata a couple weeks ago on sale for $829 not realizing the Avata 2 was coming out so soon. On the third attempt to fly it made a fizzle sound and started smoking like crazy. Totally bummed (cause I loved flying it) I packed it up and returned it to find to great delight the 2 is out! Arrives in a few days. Can barely wait! Luck with unluck! You're video has me even more excited. I feel like a kid!

I grabbed one of these, but in looking at your clips, I think I will still want a go-pro on top. I wish DJI would just get together with GoPro and make an all-in-one amazing unit! (with a friggin aperture adjustment!!!)

@@a-hvlogs2046 it’s not amazing man. It’s one of the worst FPV drones. Please don’t call things amazing if you had no comparison. It’s clearly your first drone and I won’t believe you in million years if you say it isn’t. Even older DJI FPV is better than that. Slow, sounds like a mosquito on coke, losing control after SIMPLE manoeuvres like flat yaw spin, not to mention anything intermediate or advanced. Even medium strength wind and you can forget about nice steady content. We are talking FPV here - FPV = manual mode, if you wanna talk about N/S mode for pensioners and based on that call it amazing you need to find a video about Mavicks and other GPS drones, but even there it’s gonna be the worst GPS drone. It’s like buying Ford Fiesta and calling it amazing because you never had a car before and now you are happy to drive from point A to B instead of walking or cycling.

I’m not native English speaker but it blows my mind how people miss use the words. Previous guy calls Avata 1 AMAZING ( so what is a real fpv 5” or 7” cruiser or even DJI FPV? Ultra mega bombastic? ), now this guy says he is thinking of getting one while he already decided to get one. The world is doomed.
An excellent and concise review, thanks for sharing. DJI has really listened and fixed the main complaints of the original Avata. Definitely appreciating the reduced noise levels, secure battery fitment and image quality. The new easy acro modes are quite promising. Hopefully with future updates, DJI will expand the range of moves/add more customising. I would also like to see a package that includes the remote controller 3 with the fly more combo instead of the motion controller. I`ve been flying stabilised camera drones for a couple years now and I`d really like to make the leap to FPV, this seems like the perfect drone to fit the bill.

Picture in picture mode is sooooo smart! Here in sweden we cant fly fpv drones without someone beside whos watching the drone doe to the law... so now you can fly it without someone els having to watch the drone... 🎉🎉🎉
In the UK, it must be with naked eye, ( or with corrective lenses) so seeing it on a screen , or binoculars, etc is out !

Would love to see a video on your camera settings! I had such a tough time with the original avata with noise and quality. Did you use an ND filter with your footage?
Most of the time I did yeah. Main thing is to make sure your shutter speed is at the correct setting. But I'll probably make a video out of it 🤘🏽

I've seen clips of it being used but...
The clip ends going backwards which is cool, but..now you can't see what's coming and how do you get it going forward again? Drift again in hopes before you slam into something?
I've not seen it fully explained or shown.
How it feels indoor flying? Cinebot25 or cinelog 25 is better for indoor real estate?
Great video! Question: I have an original Avata which needs to be tethered to my iPhone running the DJI Fly app. Does the Avata 2 and new DJI Goggles require a iPhone/Android connection for flight?
What makes the GoPro better? Low light ? Dynamic range? Or is it the colours?
When I get my Avata 2 I'm going to fly 95% manual mode, probably 4% normal in sport mode but with the same FPV3.
One thing I will absolutely be trying for fun is holding the motion RC3 in my pocket while wearing the goggles with a hood up. One-handed incognito flight sounds like it would be a fun time.

I'd probably mount a GoPro up top if I used it for gigs. But honestly the footage is close so we'll see when the time comes

I'm comparing this to the Mini 4 Pro - I don't plan on taking a lot of cinematic/photography shots, but I also don't think I'd get into hardcore FPV flying, just to have a leisurely time meandering in the air. So I'm not sure if I want the extra flight time of the Mini 4 Pro.
Im looking to purchase my 1st drone. Should i go for mini pro 4 or Avata 2?
Mainly for traveling
Have mine now but worried about all the broken ones I've been seeing. Seems like they sacrificed durability for weight and flight. /: would be nice if it was more user serviceable, but ultimately I picked this up planning to switch to O4 air unit DIYs after I learn enough. Doesn't hurt me as much as some if it is as fragile as it seems.

It is currently not compatible with any of the previous generation stuff from DJI, not the controller, motion controller or goggles.

How long before Dji puts a 360 camera on their drones?
I hope they do. 360º or 180º to create immersive videos. The problem is getting the drone out of the shot.

Wow, I have watched so many reviews and you-tubers in the space and I just stumbled across you recently. You are hands down the best in my opinion. Well thought out videos, great production and intelligent. Just amazing man.

For me the lack of compatibility kills it, again! The goggles are not downward compatible, not even to the O3 air unit. If this is fixed in the future, I'll think again. If it even will be ok with the older units like Vista, it's a yes. The FPV controller 3 has to be purchased extra. I missed these informations in your review, still thanks for the good work as always.
I’m pretty sure they’ll update it later dji is just waiting for a sales number or something. It’s just to make pp buy the whole pack

There was a prerelease firmware where it was compatible but they pulled it before release, so it's coming.

Genuine question: given all the US restrictions on drone flight, why would an average consumer spend $1k on a drone like this?
Would you like to elaborate on what restrictions you are referring to?
I don't have any issues flying in most places.
@@nousername4me2use FAA restrictions of course. I'm close to Washington DC which, as I understand, is the most heavily controlled airspace in the US.
In the EU this drone has the same top speed as the Mini 3 and 4 which sucks for FPV and stops me from buying this
There is a lot of easy ways to switch to FCC mode. On the Avata one a simple way to do it was just add one single special file to your googles SD card and it would always be in FCC as long as the SD card was in.

Aerodynamics guy here. They actually Test the battery life by flying Forward with around 2/3kph as that ist actually slightly more efficient. 😉
Great video. You have skill and talent. One thing... We do not film, we video. Digital Video and Film require different skill sets. Having DIFFERENT historical and technological timelines spanning 150 years. You are a good teacher, when you say film or filming you are de-educating. 5:58 When you were out videoing, not filming. Actually, you should have said when you were out. We obviously know you are videoing. Know the difference stand out and be better at your craft. Peace and respect.
if your focus is the quality dont buy avata 2, just buy avata 1 + go pro 12 is 10x better
This drone is nothing special. Make a custom fpv drone with o3 you’ll save some money if you already have the googles
It’s more targeted to those who are a beginner. For those who have no idea about fpv and want to get into it this is a brilliant option. Maybe for those who have more knowledge on fpv, perhaps making a custom drone could be a better option
@@harryedwards7168 it's fragile though so beginners will have a lot of downtime is one issue. they will crash less than with a normal fpv but have to wait on DJI to fix it.
I'm not big fan of influencers, sorry.
