One from the archives! "Ruby Soho" was a hit for Rancid back in 1995. It's a catchy tune that sounded so much like the early music of The Clash that it was almost easy to write off the song back when, at least for me and some of my friends who were old enough to remember when The Clash were a new band. The hairdo worn by the bass player and the singer is called a Mohawk, named after the Native America tribe that created it hundreds of years ago. Joe Strummer of The Clash wore his hair that way for a while, but without the dye and the hairspray that kept those spikes in place. Other punk rockers came up with the spikes in the early eighties and Rancid kept the style going into the nineties. I've got a friend who sports a spiked Mohawk sometimes.
