    This is a very informative video and your hard work is appreciated. I just strongly dislike that this is how things have to be done. I really wish Cricut software would adapt to our needs and make things easier instead of harder for us. We shouldn't have to take this many steps to do one simple thing, am I the only one who feels this way? The machine cuts so beautifully but the software is honestly trash. They are only JUST now letting us print offline (even though it's still in beta). Sorry to rant in your comments it's just very frustrating to have to search and search like this for solutions. Will be trying out this method soon.

      this is honestly one of the reasons I ended up choosing a silhouette over the cricut - before deciding on either machine, I tested out the cricut design space vs silhouette studio and just found that the cricut program was so much more limiting .. most of what she does in photoshop here can be done in silhouette studio
      but i guess cricut has it's advantages for those who want something super user friendly and more intuitive, and it seems like there are more resources available for cricut in general

    is the method of duplicating your background layer 4-5 so that it basically does a kiss cut 4-5 times (around each layer) and therefore cuts deep enough to cut through the paper?

    I used yours and Katnipp's method for the backing. The first time, it only cut the shape of the backing. The second time, it cut the colored band out at the top along with all the stickers. What am I doing wrong?!

      If anyone has found the solution to this problem, please comment. I can't get my cricut to cut the stickers, only the backing outline. please save me!! I have found the only way i can do it is if i print everything then go back and change the sticker layer to just cut. If there is an easier way i would love to know.

    I have a problem with my sticker sheets when I attach them, they somehow become something like weld as you talked about and would only cut the backing once like a kiss cut, not cutting the insides of the sticker sheet. I use the app on my iPad and it’s been a mess. I’m unsure if this is just because I use the app or I’m doing the process wrong. My laptop is weird enough that I can’t do things as easily because my design space still has problems. For now I just have simple sticker sheets. I don’t mind it but I’d rather have backings such as yours or even colored for more detailed sticker sheets :1
    I’ve wasted too much sticker paper and just supplies in general to experiment with the process but to still no avail to my goal, I’m a mess 😂

    • @mangos0uplov3r
      @mangos0uplov3r 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      LilacOwlTea I used to have this exact same problem!! What I ended up doing was getting the free photoshop trial and making the backing card on there. For some reason when I made the backing card on a different program it did the same thing, only cutting around. I wish I had a more helpful answer but I hope this helps at least a bit!

    This video was super duper helpful! I basically did the whole process and got everything right on the first try... but the only thing now is that my photos keep printing out grainy. I don't know if this is due to the resizing after using procreate. I'm also using white matte sticker paper and feel like that maybe the other issue. Or if it's just my printer in general. So many unknowns, but hopefully I can figure it out soon so I can set up my shop. Thanks for all fo your help!

    Hi Susan! Thank you so much for this video! It was exactly what I needed and you explained everything so well!! Thank you! The only thing is that I'm having some difficulties when I try to make the curved edges.... My photoshop doesn't let me to stroke the path, that you mention in your video... I think I must be doing something wrong...! 😬

    • @PaperuStudio
      @PaperuStudio  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      it does that to me sometimes! What I do when that happens is:
      1. Check to see whether or not the stroke is on brush. you can do this by right-clicking the path and click "stroke path..." if it the tool option is not on brush, change it to brush.
      2. If it still doesn't work, Click on the brush tool and then select the hard round brush and adjust the size. Then the stroke option comes back up.
      Maybe try that and see if it works :)

    • @PaperuStudio
      @PaperuStudio  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      you can also try to use the "hard round" brush instead of the "hard round pressure size" brush because the pressure sized one has special effects on it :)

      I had the same issue, using the same brand of label she is using, both with Sticker Paper light pressure and Sticky Note light pressure. Finally I tried Laser Copy Paper with light pressure and the kiss cut worked. Give that one a try!
      I wish in addition to the presets, they would let you manually tune thickness and pressure settings so you could really dial in the specifications, and then save your own named presets from that. I 3D print, so I'm used to having extremely fine control over the machine.
      Good luck.

    In the same window that you create your file in Photoshop, instead of hitting create after you have your configured the settings, you want you can hit the icon next to the file name and create a saved preset template. This will be list that saved template under the 'Saved" menu option. It's convenient if you are using the same sized document for creating sticker sheets all the time.

      also if you are moving a layer, you can hold down shift after you have started to move it in the direction you want, it will lock the axis so it stays aligned. This saves having to zoom in and check alignment.

    Thank you for the tutorial! Very helpful, helped me figure out how to cut out the actual sticker sheet! I do have one suggestion for anyone who might need it. Instead of having to use guides to figure out what coordinates to set the actual stickers to in design space, just put your own "registration marks" at the corners of your sticker file before you save your images. (just make sure they're small and don't overlap your rectangle for your sheet) then your sheet file and your sticker file will end up the exact same size when you resize them in design space but there'll be just the right amount of transparent space on your sticker image so that your stickers will end up exactly where they should be when you "align centre" them together in design space over your sheet image without having to figure out coordinates

    I’m going to try this next, I tried another creators tutorial this morning and it still wouldn’t cut the lines on the kiss cut stickers aligned properly with the background, but that version made you print it, then use separate layers to do the kiss cut part and the die cut part separately (so two cuts) and it just wouldn’t align. I’ve wasted sooo much sticker paper just trying to get it to align the print and cut right, both on single and double layer versions and so far despite calibrating it so many times and the calibration coming out near perfect, it just can’t seem to do it right. Hopefully your version works when I try it tomorrow morning. Thanks

    Is the stroke on each sticker necessary? My stickers are black so a white stroke looks odd. Is it only for looks to make it pop?

      Okay finally got it figured out! So the max dimensions are 17.2 x 23.55 cm. On procreate, I created a doc in that size. And then I loaded my backing card and stickers. Because if we were to hide our backing cards and let cricut cut our stickers only, they tend to push the stickers upwards, right? So to retain their positions, I added a grid that frames the backing card. For my sheets, I try to print and cut 4 of them on one A4 paper. So on procreate, I reduce my sheet by a bit to give room for the grid. Then I hide everything except for my backing and save one doc under png format. Then I hide the backing and only show my stickers and the grid (looks like a window frame with space for 4 glasses), and save another png. Loaded and adjusted both in cricut design space. Attached both layers and printed them out. Before I cut, I went back to the canvas, hide the backing, but remain attached, and click make it, and then continue. Then click "I've already printed" and watch it cut my stickers. Sure it wouldn't cut through the backing cos I didn't multiply it, but it's okay. At least the kiss-cut lines are there as a guide for me to cut them using my guillotine later. I hope this makes sense! Will try to do a tutorial on it when I have the time! :)

    This looks so much better than the Silhouette Portrait. I had one of those and gave it away in frustration. It would never cut the same twice even if the settings were the same each time. I think a Cricut would be so much better and less frustrating.

    This is one of the best tutorials I've seen in creating Kiss Cut Stickers. However, has anyone else had an error message come up saying 'Image Upload Could Not Be Completed, Please Check Your Internet Connection' when trying to upload their image through 'Print Then Cut Image'? I managed to upload the first file for the stickers without the backing aka background sheet, but it won't upload the backing of the sticker sheet. Does anyone have the same message and if it's Cricut that's down?

    Thank you for the video! It was very detailed and easy to follow. I have a question - do you ever have trouble with your Cricut not cutting accurately? I have calibrated my Cricut twice, and the cutlines are not very accurate when cutting smaller planner type stickers. The first stickers it cuts are fine, but by the end of the second sheet they’re off and even cutting into the sticker design. My white outlines are plenty big enough, so I’m not sure what to do! Any tips would be appreciated!

    • @PaperuStudio

      yes, it was happening to me before but a recommendation from a viewer was to calibrate it slightly off and that worked very well for me!

    • @mayapacheco9798
      @mayapacheco9798 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@PaperuStudio I am having this problem also, just on the 'second' set...what does it mean to calibrate 'slightly off'? I've calibrated the machine but that doesn't seem to help...I waited on the phone w/ cricut for 3 hours today and then the line hung up on me. ack!

    • @eves9207
      @eves9207 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Shes most likely doing that to trick the machine into cutting the paper as if its cutting multiple sheets together but in actuality it's only cutting through one sheet while cutting on the sticky note setting, leaving the stickers kiss cut. If you dont do this you will have to go and cut out the whole thing separately.

    As a professional graphic designer I have found the cricut absolutely infuriating to use. I split my cuts/designs into vector paths clearly and accurately in Illustrator in different layers just like I would if I were sending the files to a professional printer. I do not understand why cricut can't take layered files more sensibly after how long this product has been around. There are so many small businesses that use the cricut to make sheets just like this, so the fact that you have to do what are basically hacks like this is ridiculous. This is going to take me quite literally ten times as long as it needs to even with your hacks. Thank you SO much for making this video, I have been at my wits end with this thing.

    I've followed multiple tutorials and can't get my cricut maker to cut my stickers out when using this method. It will cut out the background once, even when I layer the background multiple times but then says it's done with the project and it never cut out the stickers.

    • @venuspoynor4125
      @venuspoynor4125 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I tried again without adding any type of background, just a png of my stickers and it cut them out. I guess I will just have to manually cut my sticker sheets with a paper cutter.
