I just came across your channel whilst trying to show my boys my rifle ( mum detests them liking guns, it’s a man thing ), I had mine in the early 90’s, a present along with a Tempest. I’ll have to dig mine out, I never knew there was any type of interest in them. Thanks for the effort in producing this video 👏👏👏
Thank you Paul, for your information about Webley air rifles. I found it very interesting. I was a teenager in the eighties and longed for my own air rifle. It was absolutely forbidden. I remember sneaking a quick look in my dad's Airgun World, then placing it back exactly as I found it. It all seemed to be Weihraurch and BSA in those days. From what little information I could get, I always wished BSA would give Weihraurch a better run for their money, though it never seemed to happen. I think BSA were held back with their budget. The Airsporter and Supersport always looked lacklustre in comparison to the HW 80 and 77's. At the time, the HW 77 was winning all the field target stuff, etc. The Webley's look fine air rifles. I notice the workmanship around the pellet loading breech areas. I love all that craftsmanship. I notice Webley are manufacturing the Raider pcp model at the moment and hope it's successful for them, though I hope it's not manufactured abroad, where usually a lot of the skill and quality are lost. Thankyou Paul take care.
Made in Turkey now mate, these where beautiful. Im 69 and all my Gun's are spring piston. Two HW97s one is a Special Edition laminated stock One HW95 and one Air Arm's TX200HC in Walnut also HW45 Pistol but i still look back to the Good old day's
Lovely collection mate. I have a couple of mk3s myself and I can't stop looking at them, they are a machine shop master-piece. I have a series 2 and a series 7.
I have just bought a very early series 5 Webley mark 3. Serial number 41476. Bought it for quite cheap since it is missing its sights and the odd screw. It has the serrated loading tap and lever. It also has a scope rail but it is a different shape to the later ones. I have been told its a dumbbell shape. Bought it thinking it was a rifle made up of different bits as the barrel and cylinder have lost their finish and turned grey whilst the rest of it is still nicely blued. But the serial number on the cocking arm and barrel/cylinder match. So I think someone in the past has, for some reason, got rid of the finish on the barrel/cylinder. God knows why. But it is a very nice air rifle and I have the missing parts on the way to me now. I have had one other Webley mark 3 which I sold to my brother a few years ago and that one was a much later series (Prefix serial number and the rectangle loading tap). Will make a nice gun once I am done.
Wow! You must have so many rifles/pistols. On the woodworking channel's i watch they have a "workshop tour" i wonder if you would do a collection tour (showing all of your collection) I think that would be an awesome video to see. Thanks Brian
