How have you managed to get your cocking lever on the right hand side of the rifle ????
Yet later on you show a clip with it on the left like most of them are? Not a criticism just curious 🤔
I was something of a Webley aficionado, i spoke to and had a fair amount of work done by both Dave and Steve Pope. Total Airgunning genius’s. I always wanted an Eclipse and an Omega back in the day. I bought my first Longbow off Dave, hand assembled by himself , I’ve owned both two Longbows and and Tomahawks. I bitterly regret selling my last Longbow. It was a cracker, barely any recoil for so light a springer. I could print tiny tiny groups right out to 50 yards. I’ve owned Raiders, custom versions, superb. My favourite Webley PCP is the FX2000 Carbine, tremendous rifle and the most accurate.22 ive ever shot. Anyway you obviously know your onions when it comes to Webley. Dave told me that the Longbow& Tommy were essentially Venom or V-Mach as it was then were pretty much their design. Personally I think the Longbow to be the best sub 12ftlbs lightweight break barrel ever made. I also spent a bit of time in Steve’s workshop ( God rest his soul ) and when Webley were sold out to foreign buyers Steve had been working on the ultimate springers, a break barrel and an underlever, with features never seen on a boinger ever before. Anyway he took the designs with him, believe me it’s a tragedy they we’re never put in to production. Daystate almost brought the design off him, had they done so with Daystates name on them they would have flown off the shelves.
It’s not a EV2 it’s a XV2 what a cock up 😅
Is it too loud for pest control, With no silencer then, Can someone tell me please.
@melvyncotton9571 I don't think so ,yes its noisier than a moddy rifle but I've shot hundreds of vermin over my 45 plus years shooting with un moddied springers .
Hi paul personal choice i know, i prefer using a mod, i got and know 4 guys with the pro x none have had and issues using the mod adapter, more pro x video's please @fieldsportcymru4636
The HW77 looks great with the green laminate stock. Its a shame the newer versions have the cutout on the stock, it does look awful. I might have to source a second hand one to get the old style stock as I was planning to get one soon.
I definitely will buy this one. Unfortunately, there is no walnut version available. So beech it will be. I don't care too much for funny colors.
A lb less is very significant. And more shots. That is a great upgrade - thanks for the video.
Looked to see videos on youtube about the Webley Axsor I bought from Fieldsports Equipe, and what a surprise to see the one I bought in your video. It was the one with the original Webley Moderator. 👍
@Apd_6464 Very nice rifle I was rather tempted myself
Love it great video we're can I get one and how much bet there not cheap
About up is around. 10000.i think..with the scope etc.
3300 for rifle
@@NeilPickering-kd4cx City Airweapons in Birmingham have them about the 3000 mark
@@fieldsportcymru4636 Thanks pall my dad always says buy once buy right Won't need any air rifle owning that Better get saving up lol what a tool that is I also like the ed gun but bet the trigger isn't as good on ed gun as the Steyr what do u say bud ?
Brilliant vids keep them coming please my personal favourite was your take on the bsa rifle parady. Question do you still have the alpha wolf? I see I'm not the only one to ask.
Pu midsole rots in 3 years because hydrolysis, stick to altberg eva midsole
Just need to re-mortgage to buy mags and pellets😂👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍😎😎😎😎😎
😬
Nice rifle and you look like you are really enjoying it. I’d get a bit annoyed spending more time filling the mag than shooting but once the excitement wears off I’m sure your trigger finger will slow down 😂.
Looks like you’re having the time of your life 😂😂 it’s definitely put a smile on your face . Do you still have your Alfa Wolf and Brockock ghost if so out of those three which would you say is the most accurate. I still have my Daystate Red Wolf and can’t bear to part with that either also pellet on pellet. Love the videos keep them coming.👍👍
That looks great fun! The smile on your face says it all. Great video.
Picked up a used Leshiy Classic L1. It came with the Akula, Huma Gauge, and the dual tank. IMHO, the Akula did not seem too quiet. But, I never had it without. Now I am comparing to a Taipan Veteran Compact and a Lelya 2.0 in .22. Enjoy the videos as always, thank you for taking the time out and showing of all those fine air-rifles. Cheers!
Great video paul, what pellets you using
@@donpay6427 JSB EXACTS it also likes QYS heavies
Hi really enjoy your content and array of air rifles you own & shoot! The gun looks nice but it’s way to fiddly watching you it looks like your struggling with it! May just be teething problems etc! Also it’s very prone to pellet jam! for me it’s not the type of gun I’d like to own! Would be a lot of fun on the rats mind! As long as it didn’t jam. Thanks for the upload enjoyed watching.
I’ve owned my Steyr pro x scout in 1.77 for 2 years now and never had a single pellet jam . As long as you get the right pellet size and stick to that pellet absolutely no problem. Mine takes AA Diablo 8.44 size 4.52 and they never fall out or jam .
Nice 😁 Not my model type of rifle but absolutely fun 👍congratulations...top of the line gun.
Congratulations on your new Steyr. Looking forward to seeing it in use. Take care.
Fantastic stuff, great rifle. Looking forward to seeing this on your permission if poss 👍 Seen some pics of the new one coming out called the Air 10, same as yours but even more tactical looking in all black. Supposedly available in Scout and longer versions. Very little info out there at the moment.
They’re lovely looking dogs,I like all terrier dogs. I think a terrier is what I’d get if I got a dog
Thank you Paul, for a fantastic, passionate review.
Hi Paul, Thank you for your video. I hope my comment does'nt sound a little wooden? This, to me, they look like the next chapter in air rifle evolution. First, we had the break barrel and underlevers, where reloading was a bit of a fumble, for some, requiring a quick, follow-up shot. Then, Theoben made their SLR's, self loading air rifles, seven shot magazines, and fantastic, quality air rifles. Then came pre-charged pneumatic's, which improved shot speed with their magazines, cocking levers and accuracy, with no recoil to speak of. Great for quick, follow-up shots. Now, we have these semi automatic air rifles. They look very well designed and made, and as you've demonstrated, throw out a number of pellets very quickly. I've nothing against them at all, and expect they'll be very popular. It's made me realise how much I like and enjoy using my pcp's. The quality of their builds, the technology of their magazines, cocking levers, re-loading mechanics/function, etc. Also, the function of my lesser advanced spring air rifles, with much more recoil. They look ok, a little like Rambo, to me, and I feel that will be an appeal to some. I don't think they'll keep me awake at night. I love what I have and super enjoy using what I have. I don't think they're for me, though great respect to the people that have designed produced them. Thank you, Ian.
I thought we couldn't have semi here in UK...
@longyx321 It's a self indexing rifle so shoots directly from the magazine like a co2 bb gun
Looks like you’re having the time of your life 😂😂 it’s definitely put a smile on your face . Do you still have your Alfa Wolf and Brockock ghost if so out of those three which would you say is the most accurate. Beautiful bit of kit! Would be interested to hear what you think between the steyr and your vixen given the price difference? Thanks
@ianyanto123 Both accurate but the Steyr knocks it's socks off for fun soooo accurate so fast to dump a mag into a target .
It does seem heavy on paper, but you feel that is a false impression once shouldered, so it has caught my interest more. Carrying in the filed is also where the weight can get you. Do you have any recommendations for slings for this rifle? Thanks for the review, you provide some really useful information and views.
@drleighmj You can fit pretty much any sling on this rifle as the front picattiny rail can be used and the wood stock at the rear is easy to drill and fit a rear swivel
Did you get rid of all your springers ?
@andysidney7055 No I still have my favourites left .
Almost bought one a couple of months back courtesy of your videos but I’m a modder at heart so went with a Leishy2…………..for now
@davidpinnington213 Had both got to say the Steyr is much much better ,big fan of the original Leishy though
@@fieldsportcymru4636 Yep I agree but at the time (2 months back ) the pre loved versions out there were all the short barrel Plus I’m a leftie and all circa £2.2 - 2.5k used (I like bullpups but they look a little too “odd”) and having watched you on the range videos I suspect the Steyr at distance is more accurate. I also could not get a straight answer on retrofitting shrouds and moderators Then a used Leishy2 came up just over £2k once I got the moderator and shroud it’s ended up at £2.5 - for now I’m happy quick fire drilling
Can this be magnified?
@@philchabert832 I don't think so no
So are you keeping this one? I still got my hunting 5 and got to agree its fabulous, i will never get rid of mine, Chris Cundey on the Steyr group can fully service the regs for about 30 quid, easy to take off rifle and send in post, my rifle performance was better after he service my reg. Thats a great rifle ❤
Hi paul good video, my pro x laminate has a ajustable and shaped but, looking forward to your next video
@donpay6427 Yes ive seen some with and some without . Great rifles and I never altered my pad anyway
Absolutely gorgeous rifle the best bullpup in my opinion bro lovely Austrian weapon. I'd be all over it like a rash get me some rabbit's and greys quick time 😊. One love ❤️ Ali
Nice gun! Steyr is a good brand...nothing for me cause I like only springers😊
How many shots do u get from a fill..ta..
@roberthowe2910 I've never shot it dry but I'd say 150 to 200 ish
@fieldsportcymru4636 cheers..that's a good shot count......
@roberthowe2910 Don't rely on that but nits easily 150
What a fantastic rifle. You have sowed a seed for a potential buy. Can't wait to see your range report 👍
Hi Paul I bought the first one you owned off you Still got it---the best air rifle ever built Keep hold of your latest one you can’t buy anything better
@jeffreybarton1386 Glad you still have that ,I remember you doing some test shots on my perm before you took it and you nailed a one hole group with a rifle and scope you had never used .
Great review, I bought my steyr hunting five in 1.77 three years ago only because of your reviews on it and still have it and will never sell it . Mine is the first official steyr in forest green laminate and is beautiful to look at and I know they are now selling them in a Green laminate but mine was bought from the steyr factory in 2020 and was a prototype. They only made 8 and only one in forest green, so makes my steyr so much more special to me. I then took your advice and bought the pro x scout in 22 and that’s in a grey laminate. That also is my go to rifle if I’m shooting out of my car which I do a lot . The only downside to owning a steyr is once you’ve saved up and got one or two in my case , there’s nothing to compare to the accuracy and build quality, which in my case is a good thing because it prevents me from watching any of your reviews and thinking I want one of them 😂😂😂😂 keep up the good reviews I can’t wait to see you on the range with it 👍kind regards michel
@@michelmetcalf5708 Fantastic rifles you have their mate . My next rifle will be a Hunting 5 Auto in a laminate stock ,when I can afford one
Love mine. An air rifle that never needs to be messed with. Just works!
Got the twin to your gun. They're an absolute joy to shoot.
That rifle was made in August 1973 it's stamped on the back left hand side of the compression tube .
Just about to start restoring my mark1. This one looks fresh. Mine is held together with dodgy wood screws and the iron sights are completely feked
@maxwellmitchell7584 this is in pretty good condition for what was essentially a boys rifle ,their normally battered
Very nice example bud What is your personal favourite bsa’s if you don’t mind me asking? Thank
@BL5_Pestcontrol1 I like the very first BSA rifles but of the later ones the Mercury s and super star are my favourites
Keep the History lessons coming. What a great video..
In your opinion would this be good on a .17 hmr for vermin control?. The one I am looking at however doesn't have those turrets. Its an earlier model. And its SFP
@@kris308100 Their superb scopes

Absolutely stunning rifle, that’s been well cherished by the looks of it 👍
I have a 1957 model. Can you advise me on what to clean the stock with and what oil to use on it please.
@@stevekay5486 I use Birchwood casey Tru oil on mine
