The only cold water you gonna see me next to is either a waterfall or the River Thames mate, and believe me, I won't be getting in it. Brave soul is putting it mildly when it comes to seeing you. Bits would have broken off if my body had to tolerate stepping into freezing temps like that. I think I'll leave Resilience to you crazy folk, ha ha ha ha. You look so fit and healthy too, glad to always see how far you've come. Well done for keeping it up for 30 days, Day 1 to Day 30 would have been me watching the bin from the outside dressed in the warmest clothes I could get on my body whilst throwing rubbish into it. Hope you have a warm enjoyable week Peter.
This is so well done Peter. Beautiful.....the entire thing. That mindfulness is such a huge thing, and so is taking yourself through/past that place of impossibility. Fantastic!! Also, Jenny is a treasure for dropping that bit of knowledge on you. My daughter and I started doing Cryotherapy treatments a couple years ago. It's no way near as severe as being in an ice bath, but we definitely felt the benefits. There's also a rush of endorphins afterward, that in a way, become both rewarding, and addicting.
@@PeterMRiley Cryo is very doable. There's no way I could get past my ankles in an ice bath, but Cryo, even the "extreme" version, is no problem. If you're up for a laugh, here's what I'm currently "soaking" in: th-cam.com/video/bq3a58DVZus/w-d-xo.html
What a brilliant vlog. So inspirational. Did start doing the cold water shower. I started off with 30 seconds. Worked myself up to 2 mins. Then covid struck. After watching you I am determined to restart. I have a heart condition but was convinced it helped.Thank you for giving me a much needed push
Good to see a video update & happy to see things are going well for you. Discipline, resilience…yes! The book your wife gave you for Christmas is an excellent one. See you next time.
This video is wonderful Peter, it has everything, and is funny as well. It's good to have an update of how you are getting on, I'm glad to see that you are thriving. 😄
Well done! I’ve seen some people wear socks and a vest top to make it easier & 4 minutes is pretty damn good too, a lot of the challenges I’ve seen so far are 3 minute ones!
Hi peter lovely to see you . Wow well done your a true inspiration, I knew you’d do it and I’m sure you will inspire others to have a go . I thought I might fill my bath with cold water I know it won’t be ice water, but just to have some idea what it was like. It’ll be interesting. But well done you, Take care Marilyn.❤️
I am so glad that you are doing well. We exchanged comments a few times when you were going through your cancer, and I was wondering why I haven't seen anything recently from you. I am delighted that you are jumping into cold water, and digging deep into the soul😊
Mate, after multiple doctor visits, labs and scans, I am just now beginning a similar journey to the one you so bravely took. I admire your positive attitude and your videos have helped me get my head around all this (well, they’ve helped me start to anyway). I have carcinoid syndrome so pretty certain my primary tumor has metastasized to the liver. My 64 CU Dotatate PET scan shows something in the duodenum and maybe the lung. Nothing lit up in the liver, but I need to have that looked at with an MRI given my flushing symptoms. I don’t know where this journey will take me, but I want you to now your videos have been something to hold onto in what is a very scary, isolated experience. I hope I can be as positive as you have been and I hope I can make it through. Presently, I am not in a great place mentally or spiritually. Thanks for the encouraging videos.
Hey Paul. I'm sorry to hear what's going on with your health. It's totally understandable that you feel like you're not in a good place mentally and spiritually. Those first few weeks are confusing and exhausting. That will calm down I promise and you'll centre yourself again. It's perhaps a cliché to say but take it a day at a time and you'll find yourself in a less confusing place soon. Getting answers and a plan in place lifts a lot of weight. All the best mate.
Hey can you make a video on recovery phase of liver resection ! You are so inspiring in many ways god bless you and upload more videos and update on your health aswell
@@PeterMRiley hello peter My fiance got his liver resection surgery done recently and its been 2 weeks but he has sharp pain in liver side he got almost 80% liver removed is it normal pain after post surgery ? also in how much time he will be physically active can plz reply me ! Hope you are doing well give us health update
Very much enjoyed this. Would have been great to have had a bit more back story on the history of wheelie bins and their current implementation. Perhaps even linking into local regulations and the different types of wheelie bin available in different areas of the country.
So inspirational, mate. I had colorectal surgery in November and a liver resection in January. Having some cleanup chemo rounds now, but I can't wait to return to normalcy and put myself through a challenge like this. Thank you for providing such a positive example for those of us that are/have gone through the same ailment as you.
Thanks so much Grant. That means a lot. Well done getting through what you have. I'm sure you've inspired people. All the best with your continued recovery
Glad to see you're doing well. As for the ice bath challenge, I'm amazed that you don't hesitate to get into the icy cold water. 🥶👏👏👏 If it were me, I'd find every excuse in the world not to get in. Wishing you continued good health.
Yikes, I had a difficult time watching you do the first week, and I wasn’t in the cold water! Good job in sticking to it. Very interesting video Peter. 😊
Peter you’re amazing❤. I’ve heard that Ice baths can do wonders for anxiety and depression. I have tried but growing up in Florida and having spent the last 15 years in Md, I still can’t seem to get acclimated to the winters. Let alone a cold shower during the winter
Hello Pete, well done video. Thank you for making this. Am interested to know what health benefits you experienced. You mentioned a cancer diagnosis a few years back. Was there any improvements?
@@PeterMRiley A couple more questions, please: do the physical and mental effects of the ice bath linger during the day? I follow another creator who advocates for a daily cold shower for several of the same reasons you mentioned for taking ice baths. Have you incorporated or considered adding a cold shower into your daily routine? Be well.
@@billcunninghame8554 I've continued cold water exposure with the use of cold showers since the challenge. It's a bit more practical than the bin. Without any proper evidence, I do feel the benefits for hours afterwards. It's a real awakening of the senses and I think the sense of achievement first thing in the morning is a positive thing.
This was fun to watch...i actually read about this in a few different places and from people who do it on the regular and the results are real....but of course the medical community does not want us to do this cause they prefer we buy a bottle of pills for our problems........btw you look really handsome and healthy. So glad to see that!
