Hi Gaz. My life partner Wendy has been following you with all your great tasting foods. She has made which is her favorite dish she made was the lentil meatless stew. And she also saw the video with you and your dad making the eggplant. She also saw the video of Wim as he broke just about every world record he did. She told me about it and she told me to start by doing a little at a time after taking my shower. I did 2 mins for the 1st few days. I start from cool water. After the 1st week I did 5 min. Now I'm doing 10 to 12 mins every day for about a month. I was 206 pounds due to 2 reasons my thyroid condition and just grazing on comfort food. Now since I been doing the cold blast showers I lost about 15 pounds and weigh 191. Her and I have been more active and more alert. From her cooking some of your foods and cold blast we are very active more everyday. She was very excited to see that you started the cold blast. Your her favorite chef. She wants to get me a barrel or those metal tubs. Keep reaching for your goals and also continue to be that warrior. Stay safe. God Bless you and your entire family. ✝️👍
@Margaret S - it is my humble opinion that is the very best way for a couple to go through the health opportunities, (vs. challenges.) I think it's important to note the beauty and peace it's brought to your relationship. Push on.
Then you should really try taking an actual ice bath, preferably in a lake! I do it as often as I can, and LOVE it! ❄ Even made a video about it myself! 😊
Perfect :) I have to admit, that ponds or lakes cover in ice work much better for myself. Problem are fragments of ice. If it touches you, it will "burn" skin and sometimes causes little cuts. You have to be careful with it. I have some good advice for anyone would like to start. Never, if possible, put your hands in water and the best put warm gloves (try not to soak them). Do not put head underwater or soak it (especially at the start of ice bathing). For more sensitive people, it is possible to buy sort of "divers shoes" made from neoprene foam. It helps a lot :) It is important to do some exercise and warm up before going to water (speed up blood circulation). All this would make experience much better and positive for future. I have been doing it for years now, :) Best regards from Poland.
Keeping yourself warm in the cold is easy. The most powerfull vascodilator in the human body is co2. If you slightly reduce the depht of breathing your co2 level rises slightly. When co2 rises the blood vessels dilate, thereby warming you up.
Walking in to water will tingle the extremities as the sensory part of your brain is heightened when your moving. This makes it harder than going right into a static state (barrel).
that makes a lot of sense to me. I have seen people in Russia doing the ice bathing and they say it's important to wear gloves and not freeze hands or feet.
Thank you for promoting the Wim Hof method! Im doing for more than a year now! I want to complement the cinematography: that after the cold plunges, you say your insights in front of the cosy fire in a nice warm sweater!
I thought Dad was a rock star when he took a swig in the beginning, but to watch him drop down in that ice bath at the end... That is NEXT LEVEL! Go Dad!!! 🤩
Gaz, your country is SO beautiful! 😍 Really fascinating experience. The aesthetic of your life rn looks like such a dream 🌿 I've followed you for years and I'm SO happy for you!
My daughter works in a Cryotherapy Center. They have a chamber with minus 110 degrees celcius!!! She started years ago by going into our pool during winter time.....her inspiration was also Wim Hof.....it`s incredible what benefits people get when going to cryo.....many health issues are just gone....and it makes people happy....
Went on a 10 day trek in Lapland in October and every morning my friend and I would bathe in the nearby lake or river (they have so many lakes over there). We were following that with a healthy breakfast and it totally changed our bodies and mindset. Came back from that trip with a new outlook on life and ourselves.
How excellent! My husband and I do 3 minute cold showers 5 days a week after running and a workout, it has been a game changer for us. But…you have inspired me to up my cold game now💕💕💕 I love all your content, this one was extra awesome and it was fun to see your Dad get in on this as well as Tom!
Its been proven to stunt muscle growth if done after workout, sauna is for after workout, ice bath is for pre workout or morning etc, source; Andrew Huberman Podcast
I just wanted to say this video was touching and beautifully done! My favorite part was when you got into the big body of water! First of all I was so proud of you, 2nd it was visually stunning! Thank you so much for sharing this experience with us! You popped up on my feed and I’ve always wondered about these ice baths. I hate cold so when you said you did too it was inspiring! New sub!
Great inspiration. Been considering cold showers to deal with joint pain. I think I'll start my week off with dry brushing and a cold shower. Wish me strength and fortitude. That place in the country is gorgeous.
I'm the same. I suffer with neurological pain that effects my entire body, and restless legs. I've been considering cold water therapy for months. I'll do it if you do it, Ardeth!
I started finishing my shower with a cold shower a couple of years ago after listening to Wim Hof. I don't think Ive missed a day. I cannot finish a shower now without a minute or two or three of cold. Its coffee without coffee
I haven’t done ice baths, but I do cold showers daily, yes even in the winters. It is life changing! You really have to learn to breathe a little faster and with control before and while you’re in the cold temperature, to help regulate your nervous and cardiovascular system so you don’t go into shock or something. Practice the breathing alone first and then add the cold showers.
I tried ice baths for the first time when I was in Iceland last year…I’ve never felt better in my entire life. I fell in love with that same clarity.❤️
Love the excitement in your eyes when you're cracking the ice in the barrel. I get that when I'm lacing up my rollerskates - I know that feeling!! Gotta try this, thanks for the inspo, especially when you say overcoming your mind telling you, you can't!! I've done plunges and that tingly, euphoric feeling - is amazing, gonna do it!!
There's no way I'm ever getting into cold water like that. I'm glad you enjoy the experience though. Also glad that rogue whiskey didn't make you sick, lol!
You inspire me to be a better being with each video you create! You're a beautiful soul! Keep being the light & love this world so needs. Thank you Gaz! ✌️❤️
I’ve been recently started my own cold shower and bath journey and loved this video. Watched it twice, the second time while doing a cold plunge. Keep up the good work I just joined your channel!
I’m a regular cold wild swimmer all year and have a barrel at home, when swimming wild in the cold, not the barrel, please wear gloves and water socks makes such a difference to cold, much bette, glad you have found this amazing it’s changed my life , well done 💙
When I used to live in Siberia, I did go outside during winter to pour a bucket of freezing cold water when it was like -30 C outside. I did a few times like that and that was an experience for sure. I haven’t done it in a long time but I still do cold showers and that does get the blood flowing and gets the brain thinking clear. Amazing feeling! ❤
I have a friend who made a whiskey barrel cold plunge. He has experienced similar things to you Gaz. We live in Canada and he has been in it when it snows and says eventually in the meditative state he doesn't feel the cold at all. Apparently the cold also helps build your brown fat. The layer that helps with feeling the cold. I've done sporadic cold showers 2 or 3 a week for maybe 6 or 8 months. I find I handle cold much better now. I also did my first ever New Years day polar bear plunge in the ocean. It was about 6 degrees. It wasn't nearly as hard as I imagined. One of the participants swims 10 minutes a day in the ocean year round. Great video, thank you.
love the positivity man, and I feel the same way when getting out, so euphoric and focused, dialed in and ready to go. Im going to try your time and meditation method, focusing on breathing rather than how long I have left to finish. Thanks brotha!
I love your food videos! This one wowed me! To see how you started the process with the whiskey barrel and your dad, all the way into the ice pond! I live on the coast of Maine and swim regularly in the Atlantic ocean all year round, yes in the winter! I only stay in for about 20 seconds when the water is around freezing temp and always feel euphoric and so alive when I come out. You've encouraged me to up my game! Instead of swimming I will try to be still, breathe and meditate. I'm curious how this will feel! Thank you for being such an inspiration!!
Sick project with pops. And your house is unbelievable. I'd get my pals round, cook some fun mushrooms and blast radio head looking out on them fields woooweeee
I have to admit, I watched this video with a blanket pulled up close to my neck because I was freezing, just watching, but having constant inflammation due to arthritis since childhood, I am tempted to give it a go. Thankyou for sharing.
I'm a proud Hofer since 2016. The Wim Hof Method is such a gift. I'm almost never ill and I looove the cold. Just went in the Baltic Sea again. That's crazy but nice :)
Love to see the channel extend beyond good food into more general life and health-based videos. I also love cold exposure for all the same reasons and find it gives me a huge boost in motivation for the next 3 or so hours. One thing I recently heard from Dr. Andy Galpin's conversation with Andrew Huberman (Huberman Lab podcast) on recovery is that it is probably best to avoid cold exposure after strength training if possible (4 hours should do), as initial studies suggest it can suppress hypertrophy (i.e. muscle growth). It looks like science isn't settled on this subject, but for those looking to get bigger in the gym and use cold exposure for all the many benefits it provides, it may be something to think about!
Amazing. I had a very similar experience last year afer I accidentally fell into ice cold ocean water. By the time I got out I felt great and started going in every day - it was so addictive!
So happy to see this 🙌🏾 I'm a huge Hoff fan and great that u combined it with his breathing techniques. Euphoric forreal ! Love to see one of my fav vegan channels exploring this side of health and well being 💙
Yes me too. I've also been practicing Hof breathing method and cold showers for about 2 years. I tried to do Wim's recent 30 day ice bath challenge, but alas, couldn't finish due to catching cold midway (from riding the bus). Bummer!
Young Man, You are right; its all about the courage to force yourself to do something unpleasant. I began doing 5 minute cold showers every morning last August. I purposely started in the warmest time of year, and managed to keep it up months later when the temp in my home was about 59F. I used to take hot, hot showers and couldn't imagine taking a cold one but now I'm permanently in the cold zone. I also save $ on heating bills as well as time b/c I'm not waiting for the hot water tank to get the water up to me on the 2nd floor. Cheers to your Dad! Keep thriving, its the best way to live!
I was struggling during the whole video with crying, how can you picture how wonderful life is by just showing us your challenges? It is simply magic. So thanks for the magic, Gaz. Greetings from Argentina.
I love your personality. I have always had a hard time getting focused enough while meditating. I'm going to give this a try! I definitely need the focus and energy!
Always with the beautiful quality! Loved this so much. Such a cool idea. I love my brisk walks to get the kids to school in the morning in the winter here in Canada. It's such a great way to start the day with a blast of the cold ❤
WOW well cone !!!I live in Ibiza . my two adult daughters live here tpp . ive been healing naturally from stage 3 breast cancer i have too have been doing the sea ccold water thernogenisis daily . its life changing i haventr donne an ice bath yet . ! i will do though when i can . we have all been vegetarian for years and ive been vegan for 5 years now. .I love it that you inspire and educate those who want to learn and gtpw living Conscious Lives . i beat my Thymus gland before going in the sea xx
Absolutely loved your video, I've started ice cold showers in the morning and it's true what you say about clarity. Please keep sharing your vids and I wish you well on your journey.
this is super inspiring! amazing to see how much youve grown since when I first started watching you when you launched your channel. I am going to do this challenge!
Hey I love your content! You motivate me to eat healthy and find love and creativity in food and nature. How do you deal with bugs like mosquitoes? I am trying to grow my garden, but I can’t be out in my lawn more than a minute before they sting me!
I love you guys ... following your passion and heart for vegan, nature and body-mind-soul enhancement in such a beautiful, hearty and lovely AND asthetical way. Thank you Gaz! And of course the whole team ... Love ya all ! Feels inspiring ... I will take a cold shower now ;)) When I was younger I used to swim in a cold "Freibad" in Germany while there were only 14 degrees outside ... to be honest. As I got older somehow I loose this "urge" for "pain" or to "overcome" my mind ... it comes by itsself through other inner work. But I will try to start the cold shower again ;))
This is beyond inspiring! What a powerful and beautiful content. You guys truly keep surpassing yourselves in everything you do; whether it be in making these videos or in your daily lives... thank you so much for sharing.
I’ve waded in the Pacific Ocean at Vancouver Island a few years ago. It was prep for doing a Wim Hof workshop. Getting in the ice bath was the hardest thing I’ve done. It was full of ice cubes. Once was enough for me though. The breathing I didn’t pursue because I read that some people got glaucoma. Already have a family trend towards that and trouble keeping my eye pressure in the normal range. I believe that the method provides health benefits for sure.
It is so sweet to see you working together with your dad on this project.
SO SWEET
I miss my Dad soooo much, he always loved helping me build stuff and always did Dad stuff like that, how lucky you are to have him❤
Hi Gaz. My life partner Wendy has been following you with all your great tasting foods. She has made which is her favorite dish she made was the lentil meatless stew. @@DanielErik yes but personally i would always go swimming and not wait for my death
Take cold showers 9 months of the year and it is amazing! Super addicting!
Gaz, it warms my heart to see what a wonderful relationship you and your dad have. I hope you learn from his help.
I love how your dad and mom support you!

Have your parents continued with the ice baths? I'm 56 and a novice but love it also! I'd love to see an episode with their perspective!

great video gaz. storytelling, cinematography, euphoric Gaz was all top quality
Glad you enjoyed it 🙏
Just started taking cold showers. Watching this has given me the drive to keep going, and to hopefully upgrade to getting into an ice bath. Thank you!
I tried ice baths for the first time when I was in Iceland last year…I’ve never felt better in my entire life. I fell in love with that same clarity.❤️
Oh wow!
I think that I was more worried for you drinking the whiskey barrel contents than the ice bath in the pond.😅. Nice going, Gaz and Tom!

Your family and team is so wholesome ❤
I myself take icebaths since January 23!
Now It belongs to my morning routine!
Thanks for Your insights 🙏🏻💚🌱

I cant tell you how many videos I have watched on Ice Baths, your video is by far the BEST idea I have seen for making your own.

Very inspiring! We have an old barrel somewhere in our garden shed, now I know what we will use it for... And we definitly need a home tour soon Gaz!
I've been doing cold showers seven months now. It helps with aches and pains. I really feel good when I get out.
Well done Michelle ❤️
Your home is beautiful, Gaz!
Crazy timing this is, literally going for my first ice bath today 🥶
Good luck! 💪🏻
For me the same, just started the routine 😂
What did you think? Isn't it addicting? I can't stop taking ice baths! 😍
How was it?
Cold plunge is my new drug it the best
You are quite an example, Gaz! Such a pleasure watching you grow and evolve the past five or so years. Much love, Brother. ~Evan
Much appreciated
I love your food videos! This one wowed me! To see how you started the process with the whiskey barrel and your dad, all the way into the ice pond! I live on the coast of Maine and swim regularly in the Atlantic ocean all year round, yes in the winter! I only stay in for about 20 seconds when the water is around freezing temp and always feel euphoric and so alive when I come out. You've encouraged me to up my game! well done Gaz.. and YOUR dad is a freaking rock star. we love him :)
I’ve watched a multitude of videos about Wim Hof, ice baths and the benefits of cold exposure; Bro, this video was dope.
Thank you
Will
Sick project with pops.
Give it a try !
I'm a proud Hofer since 2016. The Wim Hof Method is such a gift. I'm almost never ill and I looove the cold. Just went in the Baltic Sea again. That's crazy but nice :)
Yeah man 💪💪
Since 2016 I’d love to speak to you and find out the long term benefits in detail
This was amazing! Loved the different vibe. Camera man on point too
Congratulations Gaz- your family is amazing
So awesome, this is amazing Gaz, really helped me get motivated!
This inspires me! Having dealt with inflammation and anxiety for years, I think I'm going to finally give ice baths a try
I think it will really help you my friend 💪

Well done mate. It was good to see someone else’s little trip down ice bath lane, it mirrored my own wonderful experience with this amazing lifestyle.
Amazing. I had a very similar experience last year afer I accidentally fell into ice cold ocean water. By the time I got out I felt great and started going in every day - it was so addictive!
first time watched your channel, your voice is calming and the color grading looks warm. Subscribed!
What a challenge! You have shared some great insights into the benefits and unlocking some of that mental stimulation
Bummer!
So glad to be seeing this approach on your channel ❣️
Young Man, You are right; its all about the courage to force yourself to do something unpleasant. I began doing 5 minute cold showers every morning last August.
Lovely footage. And yes i like icebaths too to calm my mind. I just started with the showers again trying to pick up the pace
Always with the beautiful quality! Loved this so much. Such a cool idea. I love my brisk walks to get the kids to school in the morning in the winter here in Canada. It's such a great way to start the day with a blast of the cold ❤
Totally understand that feeling of looking outside and dreading it. When i wake up i know i have to go do it and it is so hard
This is so wholesome, love you too gaz ❤
Warrior mode warrior mode. Gonna drink some tea now. Lol

Hey I love your content! You motivate me to eat healthy and find love and creativity in food and nature. How do you deal with bugs like mosquitoes? I am trying to grow my garden, but I can’t be out in my lawn more than a minute before they sting me!
Gaz you're such an inspiration! thanks for sharing this crazy experience♥
Started cold showers few weeks ago, it's incredible!! Happy for you and thanks for inspiration. Cheers!
Very inspiring 🙌
Your home looks so cozy, you should show it in Apartament Therapy

You’re a genius just made three of your 15minute recipes ..sooooooo good ❤
I’ve waded in the Pacific Ocean at Vancouver Island a few years ago.
HOW AWESOME!!! Will definitely have to give this a try!!!
Keep doing it fam. Been on it for 3 years now plus wim hoff breathing technique and meditation
