    As someone like myself who lives in north central West Virginia. When I'm in the woods at sundown I can't help but feel watched. These woods are very old and vast. I have had a few odd encounters myself with and without friends. I live about 15 minutes from grafton and it would not surprise me if this was real. These woods are very eerie.

    • @tmurph247

      I grew up in Preston County. I agree there was always a feeling of something stalking or following you in the woods, day or night, but moreso after dark.
      Life took me elsewhere over the yrs and where I live now, while still very rural I don't get those feelings in the woods anywhere near as bad as I did back in WV.

    One thing I've always appreciated about this series is how you never pigeon-hole an event or entity. You give voice to and consider every possible explanation (however outlandish), without giving favor to any of them. So it is with this case, which frankly is indeed weirder than most.

    • @craigoliver8712

    • @mirandagoldstine8548
      @mirandagoldstine8548 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@MT-ll3tu To me it sounds more like the spirit of a medicine man/shaman of a tribe that called the area home. All the attacks correspond with manipulation of the environment (perhaps the being took umbrage at the fact more environmental manipulation was occurring such as the cutting down of trees) and the sightings first popped up as environmental damage started to show up. Apparently the Shawnee nation used to call that part of West Virginia home and Taylor County, which is the county Grafton is located in, was populated by people of the Adena culture so perhaps the “monster” has ties with the Shawnee or the Adena culture. Honestly I will need to do more research on the locations where the sightings occurred to see if there is a pattern.

      Except that it could be a hoax. Reporters didn't have anything to report. So they debated until morning what story to pull out of their asses to make their paper relevant again. And their town interesting. Right around the time everyone has a portable camera in their phones there is no more sightings.

      Literally who fucking ask ? And not to mention it's so obvious that they will not switch their current style to AI. AI as right now doesnt offer anything better than what they currently have and compare to the backlash it will generate, so it's obvious they wouldnt switch. So I dont know why you along with the dumbass in the replies would be like hurr durr AI isnt art or omg i'm glad they dont use AI, of course they wouldnt ??? I heard a very similar story from a witness himself on one of these dogmen/bigfoot channels. Driving back from his logging company at night he hit a large lumbering creature that had no head. He put his foot to the gas and sped off scared. His co-worker was driving in front and had also passed it. When they stopped a few hundred yards ahead, they decided to turn around and go check it out. Where he had hit it, was now a wolf like creature lying in the middle of the road. They approached and it got up and shot off into the woods. They stopped the car where it had left and got out. Whilst they were stood trying to work out what it was, a mouse ran out from the forest and sat directly in front of them. They couldnt explain it, but, he sounded very convincing. I will try find the account...

    • @PhoenicopterusR
      @PhoenicopterusR 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      The mouse part isn't that odd honestly, especially when you consider that some kind of large creature ran into the woods. it's just trying to get away, and the humans it ran into aren't threatening it at that moment.

The Appalachian mountains are full of cryptids and folklore. I enjoy this channel, it's one of my favorites. I love the stories and the artwork is phenomenal! Thank You. Oh, i forgot, i love the ending theme song, i wait for it everytime! ❤

    I used to live just over the Virginia side of the West Virginia state line. A few times a year, I'd drive from Virginia to Indiana to see family. The creepiest region to drive through at night was the stretch from West Virginia through Eastern Ohio. Not a lot of traffic and just a thoroughly unsettling vibe.

I think the people that seen this creature ,well at least a few of them were using hallucinogens of some type. It is just strange that LSD was introduced as a recreational drug at the beginning of the 1960s. Just my opinion

      @@HangYourLocalWEFpuppet yeah, I've only seen it once myself.
