Ahh, just when it feels like far too long since I've seen a new episode, here you are! I saw the Phoenix Lights myself...driving from Tucson to Mesa, which is north of Phoenix. That was no military exercise. And it was not just a few moments, either.
@@mk71618 It was really strange...because at times it looked like lights of separate crafts because now and then one light would be slightly out of line...but could have been the angle at that moment, but then at times it seemed so in unison..the lights...that it had to be one huge craft. Some of us..me included...could see what appeared to be a faint difference in blacks, in a chevron shape or a triangle. I can see a lot more shades/hues than 'normal' folks. It's called Tetrachromacy and is more often in females than males. You can see more shades than most folks. Where most folks see 16 shades of black, tetrachromatic folks might see 20 distinct shades of black. They make awesome artists, for their color use. Most don't know WHY it's cool, but some of us who are tetrachromatic DO know why, and see the added shades. Anyway, when I noticed them, I had to pass a few pullouts because mostly everyone from both sides of the road were pulled off into the pullouts on that cliff edge. We were discussing them, out of our cars but not having good, handy cameras at the time. It hung there for some time, slowly moving...really slowly...like cruising and unconcerned who saw it. But at times a light would fly out from the main light-shape or fly at it..really like a flash of light, they traveled so quickly. Totally opposite of the huge one. We all were like that for a long time...not just several minutes. We looked out onto that valley area below us, and not one of us was not chattering, gawking at them as the darkness deepened, and processing the whole thing. Someone said "Pinch me someone, so I know this is fucking real" and we all laughed nervously. Twice we saw some sort of flash...not pinpoint like the dashing lights {maybe smaller scout crafts entering or exiting a larger mother craft?} but like a mirror or window gives when it catches the sun for a second..but it was evening and there was no sun out. So what were those flashes? They weren't piercing bright, nor lasted more than a second...but without a sun or light source, what caused them?? A momentary door opening to allow a craft out, then closing, and that was just seeing the inside for a nanosecond? If that's ridiculous, then what was it??? And what caused the flash? Not one sound came from it by the way. None. Not a flame sound, not a whoosh or beep or tone...not air whipping past nor muffled roar. Nothing. Silence. Too silent, other than the chatter of dozens of folks along that road, in pullouts. A bit eerie, actually. The fact that it emitted no sound whatsoever had us discussing, trust me! Which is why we were surprised that what appeared to be one huge craft...I mean like huge....doesn't make one iota of a sound. That's not possible. Well, not on this planet, that we know of. And there were military folks in those pullouts, too. Even they said the secret knowledge they have, is nothing like what we were seeing. They couldn't tell us what the secret stuff was of course, but they could say they know nothing of anything like what we were standing there gaping at. They were no freaking flares. No way. Yes, some things were similar, but no way that explained all of what we saw/didn't hear. I knew someone who was an engineer at Raytheon, and asked him a few days later. Described what I've told you...he kept giving me the side-eye, because he didn't know of anything like that with all the 'features' I told him about, but also knew I don't lie or play pranks like THAT. That is all I can remember right now. Some of those on those pullouts came up with some crazy scenarios, but even those didn't sound as bizarre as what we were witnessing, whilst we talked. I can still see it/them in my head, as I type. I was very late arriving at my destination, and she asked what took me so long, as she knew when I had left Tucson, enroute to Mesa...which is north of Phoenix. I told her the above...and she just sat there, staring at me, her mouth agape. All she said was, "Are you messing with me?" I just shook my head 'no'...silently.
Sacrifices are usually made to Lilith or Hecate in these cases, or on occasion, the Devil This just seems like a bunch of amateurs doing it for a thrill
To me I think the encounters are tied with what was going on in the Late Bronze Age. I did a quick look to see if there could be anything rooted in the history of the Ring and it turns out that archaeological excavations found bits of pottery dating back to the Late Bronze Age with the site having been used on and off by the people of that area (specifically the site would not be used after the mid-fourth century BCE only to have temples built on the hill once the Roman conquest occurred). After the Roman withdrew from Britain the site would be left abandoned and untouched until the 18th century when the trees were planted. I am slightly puzzled why the site stopped being considered sacred in the fourth century BCE but this could be a Gobëkli Tepe situation in which the site was abandoned for some reason (apparently the Ring is in a windy zone) but still I wish I knew which deity was worshipped by the first to call the site sacred.
I think people tend to brush off any occultists as "devil worshippers" because it's easier for the average Joe to understand. Also, the blending of Pagan beliefs into Christianity usually led to the Pagan beliefs being associated with the Devil- despite the fact many Pagans didn't/don't believe in the Devil, let alone worship him.
I’ve got a personal story about Clapham woods; during the covid pandemic a friend and I drove down to Brighton and obviously at the time you couldn’t use the motorways without being stopped and fined for unnecessary travel and so we took back roads to avoid the police, whilst driving through a small single lane road through Clapham woods someone came bounding out from the passenger sides of the woods towards the car, my friend driving didn’t see them as they were focused on the road but I did; haven’t forgotten about it since

I spent a night there with friends once, didnt see anything werid but around 1 in the morning a really strong gale blew in, we only had crappy tents so we went back down into the wood below. I know the ring is at the top of a hill so the woods would give you some shelter but it was absolutely still in those woods. I wish i could tell you more but castlemaine really messed with my memory of that night!
I used to work in Chapham Wood (Church Copse) helping to manage the coppice woodland and spent many winters days there. The woodland is remarkably ancient and has been managed by people for hundreds/thousands of years. I never witnessed any unusual activity but was often there during daylight and sometimes at dusk. none the less it definitely had an unusual and charming aura. Thank you for taking the time to cover this site
I used to live pretty close to Clapham Wood. I had no clue about the disappearances, but the area felt weird. Can't say how or in what way other than weird
When they said cursed woods usually have ufo sightings as well just to see a UFO slowly enter the screen was really funny. It's like the aliens are just trolling and are excited to make their entrance. It's really just the Nosferatu bit from Spongebob
The flying screaming witch(?) reminds me of all the other accounts I've read of monsters, haunted houses, etc., that have something screaming 'like a woman being murdered'. It's an oddly common element to these retellings. The flying beings and their screams also put me in mind of the Conewago Phantom here in Pennsylvania that I've heard tell of.
Keep in mind that many animals (Cats of all sizes, Vixens, like half the weasel family) in heat or communicating with conspecifics in the night time are often mistaken for a women’s scream. I’ve camped with urbanites unfamiliar with the sounds of the forest at night its panic inducing. One time it was just a wip-er-will but my friends demanded we leave. The most dangerous thing you can see in the woods is other people. If you hear branches snapping, sporadic leaves crunching, or “people talking who aren’t making their presence known explicitly, view this as an existential threat and proceed accordingly. I’d sooner deal with a wild animal than a person who’s comfortable stepping into someone else’s private camp site. I’ve heard people talk about waking up to strangers walking around their hammocks and tents, one girl who was passing through on the AT told me some dude was smelling her feet. I don’t want to imagine what that guy’s recreational activities consist of.
@@Eddie_Dean1985 I have heard some screams from foxes and bobcats, mostly recorded online. They sound like a woman being murdered; must be a wonderful thing to be awakened by at 3 in the morning while camping. And I was once told by a man who'd worked as a ranger that I wouldn't believe him if he told me how many robberies and murders have taken place involving campers, hikers, hunters, and fishermen.
It's strange how these so-called phenomena often seem to regularly fall within expected parameters We expect aliens to arrive in metal ships, and as such, that's what we say We expect ghosts to moan and wail, and that's how they appear It's as though they present themselves in a way that we believe them to
I find the mention of Hekate to be kinda weird. There's not really much connection between an ancient Greek goddess and modern or early witchcraft and certainly not devil-worship. Hekate/Hecate is a goddess of boundaries - of doors between the home and outside, the city gates and the dangers of the wild, or the veil between life and death. She has a few other 'duties' but nothing that would make her an obvious figure for malicious cults to worship.
I find the anti-ancient-deity-and-ancient-sacred-site talk to be shades of “satanic panic” and Christian xenophobia. The neopagans who pray to Hecate aren’t sacrificing animals or people, no ancient spirit or power at hill forts or stone circles is killing anyone.
What comes to my mind when hearing about certain haunted places is that there could be some kind of unknown enviromental hazard which damages the human body and causes hallucinations or something like this
I've been a subscriber for a few years now and this is first comment that I have made as a subscriber to Bedtime Stories that was 😂😂 the funniest endings to one of your videos I've ever seen ! Thanks to all at Bedtime Stories .
The idea that Hecate (Hekate) would have any involvement in these situations is a total misunderstanding of who they are. Hekate, the Triple Goddess, The Three Who Are One, is a tri-form entity (maiden, mother, crone,) who act as the goddess of witchcraft, and their focus is on medicine, healing, and easing transitions such as birth or death. They are the goddess of the liminal. They cherish and protect animals, particularly dogs, and would not harm a dog or require a blood sacrifice. People mix up Satanic Panic fiction with actually revered entities, and it honestly gets old. There are still modern magic practitioners who revere Hekate, and harming dogs or killing people would go against all of their principles and ethics. It would be lovely if this could be more widely known, and if rumors that tie Hekate into tragic circumstances could stop circulating.
I say the same thing about those ignorant of Satanism Satanists have a very strong moral code and revere innocence in animals as well as children, and harming either goes against our code
Truth! But I get the feeling that the guy who said all that was full of shit. Like, “oh yeah this satanist who committed these horrible acts that I somehow tracked down totally sat down with me for an interview, because that is totally something they would just blurt out to a complete stranger!” Typical satanic panic garbage 🙄
Finally seeing one of your videos set in my county is both awesome but chilling haha I do a lot of wild camping and now I'm tempted to go up there for a night or two. We also have Racton Folly/Tower that has some apparently spooky history! I've been there a few times til late but thankfully it's always been safe and we didn't get cursed/haunted as far as I can tell haha
An interesting story, as always. To get a feel for the area, I looked it up on Google Maps while listening. It was kind of curious and funny to notice how to me it seemed hardly wooded at all, apart from patches that may certainly stand out by contrast. Of course, my expectation of "heavily wooded" may be severely biased by living in Finland.🙂

I think ATS have got a deal on abduction beam servicing at the moment.
The idea of a motorcycle gang running and crying to the police is absolutely hilarious!
A motorcycle gang *in the 60s*
@jamesknapp64 Unless this was a motorcycle gang in the US in the 60s, then I would have been more invested in that, especially knowing most motorcycle gangs, then we're Vietnam veterans, some with experience already with little people of the Vietcong tunnels.
They need those gremlins bells to keep their sanity.
The motorcycle gang was called the bedtime stories gang
Moped riders.
20:30 gotta be real man, think this is the creepiest illustration yall have done in any of your videos.. well done. Definitely went a chill down my spine with that
The people missing and reappearing in areas that were searched before reminds me a lot of the Missing 411, Really liked the All Colors Sam and adventure time that was great :)
My partner and I have camped in Cannock Chase a few times, definitely a strange place, anyway, we hiked up a small hill, and as she sat my partner stamped her feet, we both clearly heard loud thuds/knocks coming from beneath the ground, we quickly left, true story.
Creepy AF
Just leave those moles alone!
Echoes from old coliery workings, perhaps?
I'd camp there no problem. No non human entity is going to scare me away.
Just Hobbits.
Eerily similar to Missing 411 accounts where bodies were discovered long after the same grounds were combed by people and blood hounds.
Exactly what I was thinking
I was going to say, MrBallen covered some of those stories from Missing 411! I know I had heard similar stories before.
That is one creepy thumbnail! Gave me shudders, Good job! 😅✨
It was almost clown-like in appearance. 🤡🤡
That thumbnail gave me flashbacks of the "Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark" !
I had to look it up since the whole "killing dogs for Hekate" thing didn't sit right. So dogs are sacred to her, if the place is cursed by cultists it's because they pissed her off.
Bro! The last scene and that scream! Give a brother a heads up! Lol

Awesome video as always. My favorite Bedtime Stories videos are of mysterious places where multiple instances of paranormal events takes place. Those are absolutely fascinating. Keep up the good work. Love to see more of those type of videos.
omg the skit at the end 😭😭
Nice finish with Sam the Sandow clown,Finn and Jake. 😂😂😂😂
My daughter here’s the Cartoon Network jungle and asked what I was watching.
I have been to Clapham Woods 10+ times. Never saw anything and never felt anything either. But I was always with a group of friends as a kid.
Chanctonbury Ring. As a kid, you were told if you ran around the X times, you would see the devil. And you can definitely feel something there. Its got an energy to it.
My dad's friend saw something like a UFO" on Findon Road as well.
Is Chanctonbury Ring the lime pit where it is said that nothing will grow there?
Loved the little easter egg at the end.
THANK YOU SIMON, RICHARD, AND THE ENTIRE STAFF. GOD BLESS FOR ALL YOIUR WORK
I Went camping here with friends in the 80s after hearing stories about it Clapham village is like silent hill you know it’s a weird place when u drive through there and see some huge oak tree stump that’s meant to be well over a thousand years old lol I think you’ve done really well to gather the amount of info you have because the locals won’t say much
the actual woods are really strange tho we never heard or saw a single bit of wildlife the whole weekend there which is very odd for such a heavily wooded area
There’s an area where there’s a chestnut tree that’s meant to be where a lot has gone on
Anyway sorry to bore u Great video guys
Apologies if my advice is not wanted, if you are ever going to a place like that again or know someone who is, if possible & you/ they are ok with it, carrying/ wearing crystals like black tourmaline/ obsidian, malachite, Smokey quartz, jet, black agate, clear quartz, selenite, fire agate, Kampala/ kambaba jasper, jade, black jasper, turquoise & Holey/ Adder/ Hag/ Odin Sones ( a stone that has a naturally occurring hole from water erosion) are among the best crystals for protection against nasty paranormal entities.
Hope that you & your loved ones are all blessed & happy & safe 🙏
Tonight's story to fall asleep to! Can't fall asleep to soothing sounds, but ghost stories? Im out like a light.
I always listen to creepy stories or true crime documentaries.. my family thinks I'm a bit weird.. 😅😂

I watch cerumen removal, or botfly removal. Gross, yet satisfying.
Weirdest dreams ever. Can't recommend enough.

As usual, great storytelling and beautiful artwork.
Thank you, Bedtime Stories!

Ahh, just when it feels like far too long since I've seen a new episode, here you are! I saw the Phoenix Lights myself...driving from Tucson to Mesa, which is north of Phoenix. That was no military exercise. And it was not just a few moments, either.
Cool. Did you see an actual craft or just the lights underneath? What was it like? Any interesting observations/details?
I just thought you guys would take this as a huge compliment, but I clicked on this one before today’s Mr. Ballen drop. Be proud.

Wait so they were "devil worshipers" but they sacrificed the dog to the "goddess of witchcraft"?
Yeah that makes a lot of sense.
Sacrifices are usually made to Lilith or Hecate in these cases, or on occasion, the Devil
This just seems like a bunch of amateurs doing it for a thrill
I’ve got a personal story about Clapham woods; during the covid pandemic a friend and I drove down to Brighton and obviously at the time you couldn’t use the motorways without being stopped and fined for unnecessary travel and so we took back roads to avoid the police, whilst driving through a small single lane road through Clapham woods someone came bounding out from the passenger sides of the woods towards the car, my friend driving didn’t see them as they were focused on the road but I did; haven’t forgotten about it since
Camped in the woods many times, and it’s always eerie and there’s always a feeling of being watched, just 5 minutes from where I live…
This one was a truly frightening episode.... Great job. I have a fascination with stories involving historical sites also, especially battlefields....I wouldn't mind seeing an episode some day, about a haunted English civil war battlefield, like say, Edgehill for instance, or maybe another site.
Bedtime Stories also have another channel called Wartime Stories that you might like (if you don't already watch it.) Its content sounds like it was made for you! My favourite story so far is The Kersey Timeslip Incident 😊
@@rabbitsonjupiter6824 I already watch it.. It's one of my personal favorite channels on youtube, but I would like to see them produce a historical series of paranormal phenomena on really old or even ancient battlefields....Just something on my wishlist that's all. I'm a student of history, so it's an interest for me.
@JeffTheJoker-ci1iq Glad to hear you're already a Wartime Stories fan! I think haunted historical sites like battlefields would make for some really interesting episodes. I also have a fascination for history.
YES! Another Bedtime Stories - episode! Awesome! 😊

I live near changtonbury ring too. Heard all of this stuff when i was a kid. Im surprised they didnt include the story about if you walk around the ring three times the devil will appear and offer you a bowl of soup for your soul!

Aliens or Cultists have gone too far with their activities. Hurting pets is one of the worse things they could do.

I’d sooner deal with a wild
animal than a person who’s comfortable stepping into someone else’s private camp site.
@erichinkle7347 mountain lions are pretty notable animals that make murder-esque screeches. I'd honestly be relieved to see a witch at that point.
It's strange how these so-called phenomena often seem to regularly fall within expected parameters
We expect aliens to arrive in metal ships, and as such, that's what we say
We expect ghosts to moan and wail, and that's how they appear
It's as though they present themselves in a way that we believe them to
Hoia Baciu forest in Romania has had very similar cases over the years
Indeed👍 That place has been reserached for paranormal activities since the 60s
What comes to my mind when hearing about certain haunted places is that there could be some kind of unknown enviromental hazard which damages the human body and causes hallucinations or something like this
The artwork was sick!
Congrats to the artist

Yes!!! 🗝️🌑✨🐺🕯️, that sh1t does not fly with Hekate at all! Great to see a fellow practitioner calling out the BS! Blessings ✨
I say the same thing about those ignorant of Satanism
Satanists have a very strong moral code and revere innocence in animals as well as children, and harming either goes against our code
@@SamuelBlack84 , yep! Not a Satanist myself but I agree with your values / code. Ave & may you be ever blessed & protected by your god/gods 👍
