Absolutely. Maybe even better than Worlds Championships as everyone has to be here. Only a small handful aren’t lifting. Kinda sad though to think the Olympics is anticlimactic. The gold medal will in most cases go to the best in the world but silver and bronze not guaranteed to go to second and third best. Witness supers in Tokyo; Lasha than Davoudi 4th best, Assad 5th best getting silver and bronze.
Just from observation, Shi's 235 snatch pull a few years ago in Bangkok (I think) was muchhh faster than his 210 here. Probably due to his age and training break. Regardless, can't wait to see some big weights on the platform. Edit: it was Worlds in Pattaya, not Bangkok
It seems that Shi is not up to shape yet. I reckon we gonna see around 160kg snatch and maybe 190 cj or 180. He still feels off. Also I want my boy Tian to win both Olympics and the world championship. He deserves it.
I know you're trying to build up the hype and excitement, and doing a good job of that, though saw an extemd video on team China's snatch session on another channel. Have to say Shi isn't looking that convincing, he also had some genuen misses on 150 before the lift shown here, almost falling forward. Realisticly I don't think he is in a shape right now to threaten Rahmat or even Rizki, unless something really unexpected happens.
Tractor I read your comment before watching the vid and I was thinking the Koreans were performing the presses like it was done in competition prior to 1972 before it was eliminated due to being too hard to judge. These were similar but not quite. The lifters used to use more of a leaning back motion with upper torso as opposed to the hip/ass kick I’m seeing here. It was crazy guys backs would seem to approach parallel with the ground.
Tractor I started lifting/competing in late 74 two years after press elimination and watching a guy who liked to work the press even though it was no longer an event and being completely befuddled by it. That’s not how I learned to press at home. In the end guys in some of the heavier classes were “pressing more than they were cl&jking, Alexeev in Munich 518 press 507 jerk.
It would be great to get a shot of the North Korean team with multiple athletes in the same frame, confirming they do, in fact, have more than one pair of shoes for the whole team.
@@AdStellae- yes totally aware, Big fan of him too and it's heartbreaking for me to say that but still Li Fabin rule this weight class for 6 years now and I see him get back to back Olympic gold...Team China is just so stacked
Ii Fabin, is a 61 and has totalled 318, best C&J 175 and snatch 145. Chen Lijun in the old 62kg class, did 150kg (5 more in the snatch) + 183kg (8 more kilos in c&j), weighing a max 1 more kilo more than Li Fabin, I don’t think it’s as certain as you think, Chen if definitely stronger, you can even see it in his lifting; his pull is much faster, and so is his standup
My guess is politically driven , you may know why. Supposedly it has to do with the doping problem in weightlifting so each country can only send four lifters for each gender. I might be wrong though .
@@thefrenchweightlifter He’s old and the age categories don’t suit him I think. 89kg is way too competitive, and I don’t think he’d be able to cut down to 73kg.

hi
do you think Boady will qualify
Where is Karlos Nasar
Let's be honest, this is definitely gonna be a better competition than the actual Olympics

Every single time.
I 100% agree with you
this is honestly better than the olympics
The training hall looks claustrophobic, which just adds to the build up and intensity this competition 🔥
Shaping up to be an insane comp, can’t wait. Also, nice to see Nate there, looking forward to the docs!
Thanks for the great video Josh!
Cool to see nate cerwinske, cant wait for his documentary. Very underrated content creator
Still amazed PRK is allowed to compete. Just showing up with half a dozen world record holders after 4 years of no testing 🤣
Gotta give it to ‘em, at least they made those 4 years count
Cry about it

Please do more DRPK content, the internet (me) needs more footage of the crazy volume North Korean training

Nasar is taking everything this time around lol
Man, the 73 kg category is insane, if Shi shines even with all the competition, I would be happy
Chen is the most jacked Chinese lifter. Bro has a Greek god body

8:50 what is that strict press technique, does it have any particular advantages? I might try it
It's called "military press"
I’m not sure I agree if shi’s 150 looked good, I think he missed the first one to be honest. Certainly not convinced he’s good for any more than 160?
@ 0.25 minute, load is 100kg, not 80kg
If I use a VPN, will I be able to watch the world cup through WHTV?
Possibly
Every time I see Chen Lijun its like, holy fuck that guy is an absolute unit, he might be a little underrated...
The bussy on tian is absolutely incredible
Boy oh boy where do I even begin. Tian... honey, my pookie bear...
🫡
THICC boi
I thought Rahmat's 160 * 2 snatch will be featured here?
That was featured in the previous video I believe
@@The-Euroclydon no it wasnt.. He did it in the second day
Awesome to see @NateCerwinske there!
Really interesting hip movement from the korean women with the presses. Anyone else seen this or do it this way?

@@johndoherty-hh2ck Yes familiar with this! The presses in this video seem kinda like a push press but with hips only. Maybe a progression

@ 0:24, the weight should be 100kg/220lb instead of 80kg/176lb
Rooting for Dayin to make the Olympics 🔥
Let's GO GIGACHADDDDD!!!!!
What a unit, dude looks like a tank
It would be great to get a shot of the North Korean team with multiple athletes in the same frame, confirming they do, in fact, have more than one pair of shoes for the whole team.
That’s mean dude🤣
Is this gigaChad's final form?
In terms of body weight or ability?!
No disrespect for Chen Lijun but Li Fabin is a Lock for Paris
We will soon see. Don’t count Chen out though! From recent footage he’s in good shape, I have seen a comfortable 140/170 from him in recent weeks
You are aware that Chen's original category was 62 kg, where he hit a 333 total, right?
A considerably younger Chen. He’s still great tho I believe he’s slightly past his peak.

Shi isnt looking good, idk what you are talking about.
sounds more like hopeful thinking, tbh. he seems to be missing almost all of his heavier snatches.
3:44 the best body in the weightlifting game.
these guys are leaner than a bodybuilder lol. insane
World Cup >>>> Paris 24
Pls, why weightlifting house tv is not working? I simply cannot use it
I’ve already sent an email
So sorry to hear that! What’s your email address?
@WeightliftingHouse are you going to cover Romanian and Italian weight lifting team ?
Chen Lijun is so lean
Youre my boy Liu!
Someone remind me….why is it fair - if China have so many incredible lifters - are they not allowed to send them all?
My guess is politically driven , you may know why. Supposedly it has to do with the doping problem in weightlifting so each country can only send four lifters for each gender. I might be wrong though .
@@hansschwartz1480 it's actually 3 athletes from both gender for this Olympics so the spots are TIGHT

is lu going to the olympics?
Lu Xiaojun is retired man
oh really? I thought he would retire after the olymps@@Mike-bt3ki

You have to put more work into pronunciation if you're going to cover Asian lifters and Chinese lifters. 'X' is not pronounced like a 'j'.
tian tao looks diferent...gain more muscle
His name is actually pronounced "shur jur yong"
more like shuh juh yawng
Why are you pronouncing WA COW as WA CHAO wtf
North Koreans look like THAT!?!
Shi looks puffy for me.
