Hi WH, a small suggestion. Maybe you can consider designing and putting a title badge next to their names. Like Shi with a gold Oly medal icon x2 and WWC gold icon x3, Tian with Silver Oly icon and WWC gold+silver? Gives some context on the calibre of less famous athletes. We all know Lasha, but some training videos feature athletes who may have a continental title, like European bronze, maybe a EU bronze badge next to their name. Could help a lot. Give it a thought, thanks a lot!
@@roncaruso931 yup , but you won't hit those numbers just because roids.. they natural elite,, of course the roids make then super human , but before that, 1% level lifters.

@damitzdesign Thry do, but they now have ways of hiding drugs. Now, the weightlifting organizers welcome drugs so they lift greater weights. That's what the public wants to see. More weight , more people come, more money for the organizers!
Looks like in person commentary for the Europeans. They’re even streaming the B and C sessions tho they usually don’t do commentary for them. I think Seb might comment remotely for the Asians. They’re only doing the A sessions.
@@johndoherty-hh2ck I hope you're right. I've only been following weightlifting for just over a year. I streamed last years Europeans in Armenia. Seb and Max have way more knowledge than I do. And I like to hear the info about the lifters. I appreciate their commentary.
One thing that stands out to me is the way they warm up, those guys are the definition of professional weight lifting and even they start very light but I see guys in my gym start "warming up" with 50-60-70kgs...
They spend upwards to an hour stretching and warming up with say just barely and maybe 20 kg. They treat each rep likes it’s their max and that’s why they’re the best lol
Liu Xiajun is 40 this year. Let the man rest. 3 Olympic Golds he’s in the upper elite with 4 other guys. Lasha will probably join them later year. Dimas is still the guy who came closest to 4 golds; 3 golds and a bronze.
I just heard from another source that the Chinese won’t be lifting at the Asians. Bit of a disappointment. Gives Shi and Tian Tao a bit more time to come back from their respective injuries and make a final play for one of the 3 men’s spots for Paris at the Thailand World Cup. It was easy to see that Shi wouldn’t lift at this meet. He looks like he’s doing light squats and clean pulls very tentatively. I think Li Dayin pulls more with bent arms than any other great lifter nowadays. But it works for him.
The World Cup in April is a compulsory event, the asian championships are not. They all have pretty safe spots within the top 10, objectively it makes sense they won't compite in asians. Also, the world cup is closer to the Olympics so it might be a more accurate "test" for team china to decide who to send to paris.

@@roncaruso931 Pfft, roids that stimulate a muscle growth are not that attractive juice when it comes to weightlifting. I mean... yeah, cool stuff if you want to build a raw muscle. But the loss of mobility might mess you up. And the mobility is super important! If you ask Tian Tao or Lu Xiaojun, they'll tell you that they never do a bench press because it reduces the mobility of shoulders. Anyways, the real juice is anything that speeds up the muscle recovery.
