    As a bulgarian, im proud he did what he did at the olympic games in Paris this year, me and my colegues watched him live setting the records and winning the 1-st place! Keep in mind, just a year or shorter before the olymoic however, Karlos had suffered a heavy injury in his leg, the achilies was teared and a lot of doctors told him he would never be able to walk, let alone lift weights! The bulgarian sport federation left him alone, they just didnt believe he could recover from such a bad injury, but Karlos prooved them wrong and the doctors! He came back stronger, better and more focused than ever! He deserves all the support he can get!

      That's the thing, Karlos does not make sense. He is closer to the records of the upper category rather than his own. He lifts more than he should be able to lol. Proud to be Bulgarian and have such an amazing athlete from my country.

    • @paoloprete7322
      @paoloprete7322 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      @@jimhuperhe is Bulgarian on his mother's side and has a very high pharmacological genetics, in Bulgaria steroids are found and used more than bread, this is a legacy of the Soviet slavers who forced everyone to use stupid ones, in Bulgaria there were some of the largest factories that produced steroids for this reason in the 60s-70s there were many other very strong ones, then everything was discovered and the adventure and the disgusting Russians were discovered and suspended for a long time

    • @jimhuper
      @jimhuper 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +23

      @paoloprete7322 if you think the other Olympians are not on steroids you are wrong. I agree for the steroids part but everybody there is using and they cannot compete with him.

    • @paoloprete7322
      @paoloprete7322 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@jimhuperall athletes take steroids, then there are those who have pharmacological genetics (predisposed to drugs) and those who don't, in the case of Karlos he is lucky enough to respond very well to the drugs and develops maximum strength, if they were to take steroids away from everyone, we would have to see if he would be the champion, stop with the fairy tales, then we know that in Bulgaria they start using steroids at 12 years old

    • @jimhuper
      @jimhuper 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +22

      @paoloprete7322 being predisposed is something you have no control of. Barely anyone starts with steroids at 12, you can see him at 15 he looks frail. That's like saying but the top Olympia competitors are predisposed to steroids, duh they are that's why they are winning it. Cbum is predisposed, Usain Bolt was, if it was so much because of the Soviet union and production eastern Europe would win every competition. Stop with your fairy tales, how well you respond to drugs is luck not place of birth

    Would have been awesome if you added an extra minute to show the place you visited. Belmeken is a high altitude sports complex over 2000m above sea level built in 1968 and renovated in 2005. There are only two of these in Europe, with the other one being in Spain. It is a popular training destination for athletes from all over the world.
    On-site are a football field and a track, gym, weightlifting hall, multifunctional hall, swimming pool, boxing hall, shooting range, rowing simulators, and access to an outdoor lake for rowing practice. There are also three buildings for accommodation with meal options.

He actually ruptured his Achilles... bulgarian federation said fucked ,he will never be the same again,so they stopped paying him his shit salary and refused to pay for the operation and recovery after that. Many people will go down after all this. But not Nasar. A bulgarian people goes to him and helped him with all the money needed. In same a guys from Bahrain and Qatar reached out to him directly in Belmeken and offered gim huge money to start lifting for they country. Karlos refused . Quite amazing.

    Comparisons in this sport are meaningless for most people. My 80kg snatch seemed like the highest mountain for me, even though most weightlifters would find that very pedestrian. But there are probably only a few thousand people in America at my weight and age (90 kg, 44yo) that can snatch 80kg. There are probably only a few hundred people worldwide that can lift what Nate Cerwinske is capable of. There are only a few dozen Olympic caliber athletes at any weight. And there is only ONE Karlos Nasar.

    I would really love to know what genetically allows him to do this ! seeing nate as awesome as he is and then Karlos on that next level is just amazing (both of them). Something that goes into Nassars anatomy would be just awesome. Crazy thing is when they weighed in, they were the same but that body composition of Nassar is just something to behold.

      Bulgarians and overall Balkan males are often that may. Not too tall ( like duch guys for example) and lean but on the shorter side and bulky, big legs also. Karlos is 1.80 which is somewhat average height.

  • @Yupppi

    Such a cool video. Stuff like this really gives the lifters character. And humanises them after seeing all their crazy best training lifts in social media. Karlos might look like a scary mob henchman, but really he seems like such a chill and wholesome dude. Seems to really love weightlifting and competing. Great production, so much electricity in the video.
    And your lifter is so good too, it's not fair to say he's in the horizon of what's maybe possible for us mere mortals. He's far past most amateur and recreational lifters. It took me a while to understand that even Sika Strength guys are way way above average, that a normal person will never see numbers close to theirs. This really gives some sort of yard stick. That there's multiple levels of good and great, beyond average dreams.

      mafia henchman? and why should he look like a poor imbecile? point one in Bulgaria the "mafia henchmen" are all 140 kg and 2 meter troglodytes, point two Karlos looks and is a very simple boy, not huge without a bad face, you watch too many movies and play too much PlayStation, that boy is not even Bulgarian, he is half so stop it, idiot

    It's hard to grasp what "elite" truly means without comparison. Nate's a great example of the 90th percentile, and Karlos is the 99th percentile. The difference is enormous.

      @bigguy4u989 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    • @IordanIovkov
      @IordanIovkov 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +11

      Nate is the 99th percentile. Karlos doesn't fit on a percentile scale. He's a singularity. The difference between Karlos and Nate is greater than the difference between Nate and regular people, and Nate is easily stronger than 99% of people (he might be actually closer to 99.9%).
      99.9th percentile may sound like a lot but what it means is one out of 10,000 people. Karlos Nassar is one out of billions.
