In September 2021, I was visiting Luxor, Egypt, and stayed in a guesthouse at west Luxor. The kind owner is from the village, he took me on a quick tour around the residential areas where only for the locals, very different from the Valley of the King tourist attractions. As we were driving, he stopped by a low hanging palm date tree, reach for a few fruits and risen of the fruit and gave it to me. It's my first time tasting fresh date from the tree!!!

Can we just sit in awe of the palm tree? It is not only the quintessential reminder that "You are now on vacation" but it supplies everything from exotic fruits, lumber, waterproofing thatch, clothing, a source of hydration and sustenance from the coconut, but also vital shade from the sun, cooking oil, cosmetics filler, charcoal and so much more.

Truly beauty on camera. It is sad that the modern world has no time for that history.

The Egyptian Oasis looks very interesting how the people use to living there for hundreds of thousands years ago.

If marketing is done properly, tourism would make them a lot more money than agriculture.

They can use the dates palm leaves to fence the desert to protect erosion like the Chinese doing to protect the sand shifting blown by strong winds

“Feared oasis”. Such nonsense. And the narrator sounding like the climate alarmist Attenborough.
