- This documentary will take us to one of the most hostile habitats of the planet: the grand Sahara desert. The Tuaregs are also known as the “Blue Men” due to the colour adopted by their skin, soaked by the indigo used to dye their veils. They have always been feudal lords who dominated this immense territory. They assaulted caravans and controlled the routes. Travellers always feared them for their fierceness and ferocity. They are untamed people, impossible to subjugate. Their strict rules, where honour and hospitality are among the main ones, determine the life of their different tribes. We will travel next to the Madugu, who lead their salt caravans through the Tenere, a desert within a desert, also known as the “Anvil of the Sun”. We will know their customs, their beliefs and their way of life and we will discovery the challenges they face today to continue living as they have always done: with no borders or governments.
I was enlisted in the FFL (long since separated) In Algeria. Things happened and I got lost. The Tuareg people found me. I lived amongst them for over 3 months. I was cared for and treated well. There are days I wish I could return.
Sounds like something from a movie. I have long entertained the idea of joining the FFL and meeting the Tuareg people.
Please, what is FFL?
@@annapacana1409 French Foreign Legion
Please make a youtube video describing your experience living with them. It would be a very popular video.
Wow!!! That's insane! There's a story and a half!!!
Prayers and respect to my Touareg brothers and sisters from a nomad from cold desert of Tibetan plateau.
You are Tuareg?
@@chaostheoryrulz6080 I’m Tibetan
I’m blood related to Genghis Khan!
Hello brother, I am from northern Algeria , Are there Tibetan in Algeria?
Thank you my brothet from step i am
tuareg from Sahara
I have no words but tears about how these people manage their well organized wild life with a strong faith away from stress and toxics
الحمد ِلله
Such strong ppl deserve respect for their courage and hard work through the harsh desert
Imagine walking 25miles for 15hrs everyday for a whole month in the scorching desert heat with limited amount of water. Damn these guys are tough.
From the far north of Africa, thank you for this wonderful documentary ❤
The Tuareg are truly the kings and queens of the desert ,We love them and respect them very much
Ciao, are the Tuareg Berber who are mixed with Sub Saharan Africans? Saluto!
? @@AsSudan33
from the whithest to the darkest human in the world everyone today is a mix of some races @@BongDonky
@@BongDonky Yes, they are heavily mixed because they were slavers. Modern Tuaregs are usually half north african, half subsaharan.
Many modern tuaregs were recently freed slaves with little to no North African dna.
Amazing! What a culture! The desert is awe inspiring and beautiful but also extremely difficult to live in. It took centuries for these people to develop their survival skills. I have so much respect for this beautiful culture. What a blessing to be born in this tribe. God bless them.
Yes ! 🧡🌱
What a beautiful life! They deserve to be left alone and at peace
Yes❤ There's some books, written by Alberto Vázquez Figueroa, about the Tuareqs, he has lived with them, he's from Canary Islands... I highly recommend his books:"The Tuareq" & "The Eyes Of The Tuareq".
Unless the Americans and NATO show up .
Yes life is so difficult but they're happy 'happiness makes longer life God bless them and always
🇩🇿I am from Algeria, and once I went to Tamanrasset, the country of the Tuareg, and I am proud of the blue people, as they are considered Algerians. ❤
they dont consider themselves algerians
@@rpvofficiel2184 You mean the blue people?
yes@@LovemyselfVic
@@rpvofficiel2184Are you okay? 😅
“as they are considered algerians” um duh they’re actually native unlike you arabs
It's crazy how different people live on the same plant great Documentary
Despite all the natural hardships and western colonisation, Tuarig people have absolutely mind blowing culture. Also they are one of the happiest people .
Western colonialism helped them , introduced new technologies 😂
❤❤
@@PoldarkGodzilla exactly they still be unadvanced desert dweller
@@PoldarkGodzillawestern didn't help them.
@@PoldarkGodzillayou uh, you don’t exactly know what the point of Western Colonialism was, do you?
Studying about this area, 50+ yrs ago,..this fascinated me.
Now, come to life, on video,..it's even more amazing.
THE BEST IS TO TRAVEL, SOLO, AND FIND A NICE HERBERGE, AND STAY THERE FOR WEEKS, HELPING FINDING WOOD TO BURN, ETC, AND PAYING, AND REALY LET THE DESERT ENTER ONE'S BODY. THIS SILENCE... INVADES ONE'S MIND...RELAXES ALL BRAIN ACTIVITY... WELL, IT MUST BE EXPEARIENCED, I CANNOT EXPLAIN IN WORDS. THE DESERT EXPLAINS EVERYTHING THROUGH HIS SILENCE.
(I recommend L'Herberge De Sud, in Merzouga.) ⭐
I’m an Algerian tuareg, my dads side is black. But I’m also Han Chinese from my mums side.
So your mom is Chinese right?
That too many mixes
@@mdualeali6190 It’s 2 only

Are you a Tuareg ppl? I have to do a geography text about it. Do you have like 10/15 minutes to talk with me? Thx
😂😂😂😂
Africa is pure and original
Love from Pakistan🇵🇰 For Touarege Brothers...❤
Lol
Genetically, Berbers are relatives to the inhabitants of western Asia, central and southern Asia

A wonderfully made programme. It is a bit sanitised eg the salt miners in other programmes can be seen to have a really terrible life at times, but still a good portrayal . Excellent.
These people have good lives I like such lives without internet without media quiet lives.❤
no they don’t love quietly. They have an almost bellicose society where they make slave raids on other tribes
My Nat Geo group stayed in berber tents in Morocco..I love the desert environment and it's people SALAAM
An innumerable thanks to the photrographers !!!
May God bless these people Ameen
Thanks Go WILD ❤
They are the True Wariors
Prayers for all these beautiful people & salute to everyone plus women are very beautiful & hard working Taking care of their men’s Thanks for the documentary salute
Amazing documentary about my people!!!
SO much respect to your people after watching this documentary. I had no idea about the Tuareg people.
Simply amazing it was delight to feel back in time when trade took place without currency simply exchange of goods found and produced in that region ❤
I really appreciate and love for them I'm geography student . Love travelling these people's have great culture and great history
Respect the madougu..leading people in vast.❤❤❤❤
Very good video of ancient culture of Arab and Africa of ñomadic ,Tauareg peoples. During watching the video it is seen some Touareg are praying salath as Muslims and other si

Tuaregs aren't arabs
"The Kingdom of sun wind and sand where humans are tiny specks who must suppress their pride in the face of Nature's vastness only the chosen ones can survive in this Kingdom of nothing",24:04. Wonderful words.
Amazing people...and those hands at 4.44...they could tell a story on their own of a life hard lived
Super cool documentary..... Need one for the fulanis... Yorubas... Hausas.... Berbers....
The Tuaregs are berbers, because berbers are Amazigh. But you’re right we need some for Yorubas Hausa Fulani 🙏🏾.
@@MistaJackson . They are mixed berbers not berber. They have really high sub Saharan DNA.
Amazing Tuareg people!!!! I truly admire them. I hope they manage to have their autonomy in their father's lands!!!! Btw, they are much happier than we are in our so called "civil western society". They have true values and respect! God bless you Tuareg people. Preserve your heritage and defend your rights to be the lords in your own lands!
Unhappy West? Liberals are arresting political competition, for the crime of competing (saving-democracy)
Actual slave owners. You admire them?
Le-am dat un reper. Pe de alta parte dacă cauți în jur.... armonie. Totu-i ritm și armonie. Unde? Înțelepții spun ca lângă tine.

So beautiful, adventurous and hard life of desert, to travel with caravans is so amazing.
I miss so much The Desert.. and my Jaouad❤ 😭Thank you for an awesome documental 🙏💝
i love this tribe
This reminds me of the book "The Alchemist "
Subhanalah! values, respect, and humility.
The difference with the Tuareg is that they learn how to read when they are young. They are open minded (religion and witchcraft) and they practice their religion correctly. I did not hear that they abuse their women they treat them as partners
Well done documentary
because this hypocrite documentary didnt mention it .
google tuareg people slavery and terrorism you will be surprised
i will drink teas in the desert under the stars while we tell poems that is on my bucketlist
The desert is expanding because that's what it's been doing since its existence

Hello! I was, some 14ys, ago, in Merzouga, staying at a wonderful herberge, L'Herberge De Sud, owned by Sir Muhammed... he had found water, there.. and another Muhammed, a real artist, was making wonderful rooms, each room different, and we had an agregat which made 1 h eletricity each evening. But one evening we heard the Real Tuareqs, who were drumming and singing wildly, far away, but it was so magic to hear them 😍💝😃 it dragged me into fantasies. Because for me, staying there, in the Desert, was a holy expearience I'll always remember, ofcourse. Tourists came, ate, and went, in those fourwheel -cars, without capturing the Silence of The Desert.. they just babbled away...but I stayed. I played tamboures w the berbers who worked & lived on that Herbergue. It was purifying, energizing, it's an experience you all should try!! The people are so good, there!! And they treat the dromedars very, very well! Chocran, Morocco ❤
Super backstory 🎉❤
Between 2:15 and 2:30 is absolutely not true.
The Persians did not introduce the dromedary Camel into Africa; the dromedary camel originated in East Africa particularly near the Somali region circa the 13th century BC
Camels came from the Arab lands...pure blooded Arabs brought them to Africa.
Qué impresión, muy buen documental, pero explíqueme, cómo está la relación entre los Tuareg y los seminómadas aprile y/o Fulani, quinésica habitan más o menos el mismo territorio?
❤ very nice and good tribe
Unfortunately you do not give totally correct information about Tuareg
Those you show with stance dance and movement and you mention that they believe on spirit are not Tuareg
amazing & beautiful people
Thanks /Learn a lot /birth contrie/Amsterdam
Ma sha ALLAH the price of living independently , kind of envy them but such a hard life! ALLAHU AKBAR .
I wanna visit a place like this so bad , it’s so far from Canada though
Just take a plane to Morocco!
Incredible documentary, and my God what little these folk would need to elevate their lives from this misery, and we sit here crying about our cheekbones.
It's almost like a time machine to the past.

You can see them at Borch, a small village between Algeria and Mali
