After the Roman Empire fell 5th/6th centuries Jutes/Anglians/Saxons settled in Brittania - Langobards (Lombards) settled in Northern/Central Italy, Austria and Western Balkans together with other Germanic tribes (Suebi and Goths ao.) The point I'm making in the last section is immigration from Northern Germanic tribes happened all over the former Western Roman Empire - not just to the British Isles during the socalled dark ages.
