There’s something so refreshing about a man getting out a map, the tool you used before the internet to go over his road trip. It embodies both the spirit of how a road trip was planned on an analog car of the Countach’s era. I love it!
Paper maps really entice you to explore an area. Far more fun. And years later on a cold winter's evening, open it up again and it's a nostalgic travel diary!

@@mba9565 The Lamborghini Countach was essentially an automotive stylistic spectacle - ie. an artistic wonder - of an automobile when introduced in 1974 - there was no car like it - all courtesy of the great car designer, and recently 'passed', Marcello Gandini. It featured unique 'scissor type' opening doors, a sublime and powerful engine that gave the car outstanding performance ability and beautifully crafted interior. It became the quintessential 'hero' car poster of the period with lots of impressionable boys having pinned such a poster on their bedroom wall. The emphasis on 'show car' design and ultimate performance meant that human factors (ergonomics) came a very distant second. It probably wasn't helped by Lamborghini's chief test driver, NZ born Bob Wallace, because his background and emphasis was performance cars and probably wasn't bothered by 'car comfort', heavy steering and clutch systems that were the norm on racing/performance cars of the period. The car remains a 'spectacle' because that grand majority of those impressionable young boys, who are now middle aged or over, have not owned, or had the opportunity to drive one - and like saying goes: "Never meet your heroes, as they will very likely disappoint". Having said all the above, the Countach remains a car design masterpiece - although my strong preference is for its predecessor, the Lamborghini Miura SV.
Thanks for taking me to Andermatt. My friend played pro football in Varese just across the border in Italy and wasn't allowed to ski during the football season, so I smuggled him out under a blanket in the back of a Fiesta and Andermatt was our choice for a day on the slopes. Fab memories thanks Harry.
When I was in my youth, Andermatt was the Skiers’ best kept secret: close to Zurich, not a lot of sun, steep terrain and hence not crowded. Unfortunately, with the real estate developments in the years since, those days are gone. Still a nice place though and definitely a must visit for all lovers of twisty mountain roads with loads of alpine passes all around.
Living in central Switzerland, Andermatt is 1 hour's drive from me. I can confirm that Harry is on the button when it comes to his descriptives. 100 years ago, it was the Brits who first conquered the mountains; the Swiss thought the Brits were mad. When Queen Victoria stayed in Luzern (she spoke fluent German), she made use of 4 strong Swiss Young men to get her up Rigi above Weggis. Great Video Harry; keep up the good work.

Harry, you were very close to one of the craziest motor hotels: the Meilenstein in Langenthal, CH.
That hotel would be worth a video all by itself…
Being charmed by the lifestyle of the family in the early 20th century, travelling down to Swiss pioneering skying, while you take a Countach through the Swiss and Italian Alps !! It really delivers some great photo opportunities. Love your style of travelling and delivering the footage/experience to your audience.
Just been watching this video with the sound coming through the stereo speakers from the bluetooth connection. Epic soundtrack with the roar of the Countach engine. Love it. Thacks Harry.
Inspiring, superb scenery, we were all with you and Mrs M.
Great bit of motoring and the door up and reversing technique was superb!
