That's pretty tricky what ya did with that "before and after" thing. But you can't fool me.. after four or five hours (and a cardboard mock-up), I had it figured out. I'll watch whatever you put out, I enjoy it all. I hear you about all the time and effort it takes to put these videos together, I know I've got some decisions I'll have to make in the near future.
I always enjoy watching your show too, I don't know how some channels can crank out several videos a week or even daily. They either don't sleep or are just way more ambitious than me haha
What you film for us is appreciated both for your humour as well as metal skills. A novice can not match your skills but you demonstrate your methods so well that a newbie can use your videos as an excellent training aid! That rear fender job....outstanding as well as surprising to see salvaged!
Definitely enjoy watching you "re-claim" the old iron!! Always had the desire to be doing what you"re doing but lots of more "demanding" family, parental, long range goal responsibilities led me in other directions during my youth. Finally doing some of this work now with my son and watching talented folks like you, and some of your other Canadian friends , helps fill that void. Thank you for the content!! Hope the channel grows and provides lots of good support!! 👍👍👍🛠⚙️🔩😉🔧⛏
It is cool that you do the work that would turn most people away from a truck like that. Now someone can pick up an affordable project and finish it how they like. It seems like most people think to takes 20K to build a truck and your proving them wrong, great work.
You performed a minor miracle--maybe even a major one, You took a five gallon bucket of rust flakes and suddenly a truck appears, Marvelous! I want more.
You're an extremely talanted craftsman, I keep checking everyday to see if you posted yet. I was into the restoration work but never had the metal skills that you have. My thing was the paint, thank you and keep the content coming.
Bodywork turned out good. Here in the states most people don't say it's a no drivetrain roller. For a CL or FB marketplace ad, we say "ran when parked" and "mechanic said it has a blown head gasket". That usually covers all the bases-lol.
The list of channels that I subscribe to is quite short. By far and large, it’s only people that I think I can learn something from. You, Cold War Motors, and Fitzee’s Fabrications being the metal fabrication channels on the list. I do like that your videos aren’t overproduced and, at the same time, your skills appear to be the equal to anybody else I’ve watched. That and your sense of humor about the whole thing is much appreciated. Keep up the good work and we’ll keep watching.
My son and I are getting ready to start a project like this of our own. I found a 50 model in the woods near me, its going to be a bit of a job getting it out, but we'll have some good fun doing that I'm sure , can't wait lol. I really appreciate your video's it's very inspiring to watch someone else with the same passion doing the same type thing. Keep up the good work and thank you for taking the time to share.
I don't mind if you post less often or show things not being completed. I don't watch any of these videos anyway. As long as you don't turn into Mr. "I started a VW doublecab truck 8 years ago, and now just drag the half-assed remains around from shop to shop". You set your goals, you accomplish them and move on.
I hope you find a balance and format so you don't feel like you are doing things just to get the views. I also hope your fixing the trucks up into a much better proposition is sufficiently rewarding to enable you to continue with the top notch video output. I will continue to watch your work because it is the best real world repair work I have found on the internet. I completely understand the work/editing time balance. i struggle with that all the time. All the best, Mart.
Thanks Mart, us youtubers all understand the struggle with editing. I haven't been making videos for very long, so I will hopefully get more efficient at it with time...although it will still always be a tedious process.
@@CarterAutoRestyling It's for the cats! Yeah let's go with that. But really I wish there would have been videos like yours over 30 years ago when I was your age. It would have saved me a ton of grief. Reading all the books just wasn't quite the same.
Nice job on the truck. I'm not a fan of Chevrolet products, but I would drive that truck. After putting in an engine, transmission, fuel tank, new brakes, tires, seat upholstery, bed floor, rear bumper, radio, heater, radiator, etc. John
Thanks for posting and saving another old truck . Whoever buys it will know it's been done right I hope you can make a good living out of fixing old cars and trucks and filming how it is done. Your workmanship and teaching are very inspirational. .

It is fine that someone is saving these trucks, I never liked them and still don't. I do like the work you do so even if you are working on something I don't care for I do admire someone who has a skillset and cares enough to share it.
Dear Kyle, I am getting out my late night Hogan's Heroes commando outfit and getting ready to crawl over the Canadian border and onto Alberta to make a deal on the truck! I have very little $ but am willing to work off the balance. My strong suit is cleaning out litter boxes... Several decades of emptying litter boxes should work-- maybe? Keep up the good work!
Before you go to all that trouble you might want to sneak into the rectangular looking province next door. It will save you a lot of walking/hitchhiking to get here haha
I find not editing anything helps. I just string clips together. But then I don't show anything much either. What I do isn't really easily film-able as I am usually just figuring things as I go along! As soon as you try to show anything coherent yep, the effort into making the film goes up enormously so I appreciate you showing some of your techniques and tricks on doing things.

I was reluctantly ready for reverse restoration after seeing the title of this episode. The floor pan and kick panels look great. Better than factory.
