    No "Slashed Arteries"... 🤣🤣🤣
    I do love how you always say that you are working on "Junk", but then take the time to "metal finish" it... It's Great to see, that you don't just "Cave 'n Pave" (like most of the world does)...
    Keep up the Great Work... 👍👍👍

      Hmm, a bit heavy for cheese but I'm sure it would be great for slicing up zucchini.

    Looks great. I have a truck bed trailer that someone stamped some louvers into the tailgate. They were pretty mangled and I tried messin with them mostly just to see what I could do. Let’s just say, they didn’t turn out as well. They look more like oddly shaped handles now, but they match the ugly of the rest of the trailer. So I guess it worked out ok. Lmao

    You mentioned doing hammer and dolly work on the welded seam below the louvres. i assume that you used MIG. Anytime I used this technique I ended up with a small bead on the inside of the panel (drop thru) which interfered with subsequent use of a dolly on the inside surface. How did you deal with this? I'm assuming that you didn't have access to the rear of the panel to use a small belt sander
    Thanks, Mike

    I cannot believe how lousy the replacement louvers look compared to the old originals. They actually looked ragged on the inside edges like they would shave flesh right off if you got your hand up behind them. I watched a video of a fella punching louvers in a sheet of steel and they turned out way better than those, just using a hand die he had made. I prefer your method over all. It saved you a lot of work for the little time straightening them. Plus they look great.

Still do a little bit but my wife suggested i don't do any videos . She believes i walk around talking to myself in the shop is enough . But putting it in a video with some of the words i use would not be a good idea . Anyhow i will watch your channel when i can . I like the old Chevy sedan you have and pickup . I had a truck like that but sold it . I still have my 35 Chevy Standard sedan street rod .

    question ? ... if someone were to have already purchased a" Chinese quality louvered panel" ha ha , what would be the time difference in removing the stock panel and "bench working" the original - inside and out , having the connivence of really being able to hammer down on the panel (from both sides) in your time laps , hard to know how much time you spent - what do you think would be the time difference ?

    • @CarterAutoRestyling

    I can guess how the louvers got hit--it was a nimrod lifting the truck with a floor jack, on the downstroke he let go of the handle, it flew upward and hit the truck. That is common with lowlifes working in a garage. Nice repair tho!

    • @CarterAutoRestyling
      @CarterAutoRestyling  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Interesting theory, but considering every one of these trucks I have owned has the same damage, I'd say it was caused by a Saskatchewan wind gust blowing the door open.
