Yes, I saw a lot of people stretching out around that area too. That was the point of the race I gave up on the PB, and went into survival mode 😂 Well done to you for Sunday too 👏
@Ijustkeptrunning that was my first ever marathon, I felt OK until about 18 miles then my hammy, calves and ankles started really hurting. Amazing experience though
Great video! I found the first 18 miles to be good but from Hove it was vile! Just waiting for the finish line, but those roads up and down Hove were a killer. Something about seeing all the runners ahead in one straight line made it nasty! Still would do again! Unbelievable experience
Top run James and well done for capturing the atmosphere. Nice to meet you on the walk to Preston Park. I set out way too quickly for the hills then struggled at Madeira Drive. Still happy with a 3h58m finish and learned something (mainly that marathons are flipping hard!) Looking forward to seeing Reykjavik - enjoy!
Great to meet you too, So glad you managed a good time on your first official marathon 🎉🎉. Hopefully catch you at some future marathon events, that’s if it hasn’t put you off for life 😂
Epic racing here, you might not have got the PB but with the issues youve had and going off too quickly still smashed it. few more weeks until the Reykjavik Marathon and see how you get on. time to recover and go again
Cheers again Bradley. If you offered me that time before the race, I’d have snapped your hand off, so I’ve got to be pleased. Now a bit of R&R before Iceland 😊
@@Ijustkeptrunning that should be a good one. I’ve signed up (provisionally) for North Down Way 100m in August. Let’s how my training goes. Rest and recovery and have another great run in Iceland 🙌
It was tough around Hove. Seemed to go on for ever! My 14th marathon and I’d put in my top 3 in terms of a mental challenge - the other 2 being a marathon in the empty Saudi Arabian desert in 2002 and one in the drab suburbs of Belgrade back in 2006.
Well done mate! Nice one getting the sub 4. Lovely to share our brief time together at the station barriers and good luck for the next one!
Good run, i pretty much cramped up where you did. Its that long ass road towards Hove (through the residential house's) that killed me

I hear you there, it was gruelling near the end. Well done to you for getting it done too 👏👏
Thanks for watching
Spoke with you in the waiting room at Haywards Heath Station, well done on a great run
Great chatting to you, hope you had a good race, and didn’t struggle like I did near the end. 😅

Cracking run out there, it was an incredible day 🙌 we’ve just subscribed, keep up the good work and good luck for your next marathon 😅
It was, bit windy, but otherwise a perfect day.
Thanks for the sub and followed you back 👍
Nicely done 👍🏻🏃♂️ Hopefully you recover quickly for the next one!
Thank you, I hope so too! 😅
Nice video and well done . I also finished Brighton yesterday was certainly tough with the wind.
Thank you, hopefully I captured how tough it was at times. Well done to you 👏👏
Nice video and well done mate! I am also in the blue wave and I finished 3:50. We are very close.
Thank you, and congratulations to you for Sunday. You probably passed me at some point when the wheels started to fall off for me 😂
Just subbed to the channel! Congrats 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Cracking run James! It might not have been a PB but you still put down a superb performance mate! Huge kudos! Look forward to the next one mate! 😎🤘
Cheers mate, I’m pleased with the result, especially as the training didn’t quite go to plan.
Great running James 💪
Thank you Harry, now time to recover 🥵😅
Well done mate! Rest up and smash it again in Iceland
Thank you, yes a lot of rest over the next 2 weeks is definitely needed 😅

100 miles, kudos to you for that, I’m not sure I could do that distance yet. Maybe one day.
Good luck in your training if you do end up doing it .
Well done, I did the marathon as well, it was my first one. Wondering how hard it felt compared to others?
It was definitely a tough one out there 😅, congratulations to to for getting it done on Sunday too 🎉
