YES MATE ..... Incredible to finish 100km that is some achievement!! 50km and 100km races are on my radar for next year. I cant believe you took your shoe off after 80km, I was like how will he ever get that back on? Wouldn't be summer without a bit of rain...hey. Well done again mate beautifully captured.
Thanks Stephen, just about recovered now 😂. You should definitely get one booked in, I think 50km is a good distance to start, i found training for 100k is quite punishing, so I’ll stick to 50ks for the time being. Thanks again for watching 🙏🏻
I spoke to a few people on the first half that we’re doing the 2 days. I would be tempted to do the 2 days one year, and make it a bit of a running holiday weekend. Sounds like a great way to tackle the event! Good luck in your training when it starts 👍
Thank you Jen, and glad it brought back some memories for you. Congratulations to you for finishing it in 2019 too! I now feel part of a unique club 😃 Thanks again for watching 🙏🏻
@@Ijustkeptrunning you did the same!! The rest of the race was good thankfully. Rest well and enjoy your achievement. I will definitely! Wish you best of luck for your next race 😃
Congrats on a hard won finish! What a gorgeous race. Looking forward to your upcoming races! Have you covered what you do for recovery? I typically run a 50k or trail marathon every 4-6 weeks during the non icy months, and need to up my recovery game.
Thank you Kelly, It definitely was a tough one. I need to document a bit more than I do on TH-cam (recovery etc), but sometimes life just gets in the way. Yeah I think I’ll stick to a couple of 50k ultras and some marathons next year. Not sure I’m ready for another 100k just yet 😂 I should have another video up in a few weeks when I take on the Gran Canaria marathon next weekend 👍.
Where were the pigs at pit stop 5!!! I thought I was halucinating when I got there!!! Great video!!! Oh and the weather was kind to you. I did the last 12km at night in the fog with mud like grease. Seriously well done and mega effort, proud of everyone that got through it.
I must have missed them, looking at other videos, I think they must have got loose just after I left PS 5 😂. Shame as it would have been good to add them into the video. Well done to you for getting it done too 💪!Thanks for watching.
Huge congrats!! Amazing achievement, both mental and physical. I hope your legs are starting to come around! Now that you've done it, is there anything you would have done differently to prepare for this event? PS: make sure you show off that medal to as many people as possible, you've definitely earned the bragging rights lol
Thank Chloe, you’re right it definitely was a mental and physical test for sure, and learnt a lot about myself! What would I do differently? 🤔 I found that after my long runs I was too tired to run for a few days, I think next time (if there is a next time that is) I’d spread the miles out over a week in training rather than concentrating on just long runs. Other than that I think training went pretty well but no matter how much you train, running 100k is always going to hurt 😂. Thanks again for watching 🙏🏻
Was that Compede? It's the devil! Get sterile needles, tiny alcohol wipes, fleecy web and KT tape. And you missed the last Check Point! My one chance at fame 😂
Cheers Ben, recovery is going well and legs feel much better, it’s just the pesky blisters that are causing a bit of discomfort still. Thanks again for watching mate!
Inspired to give it a go. Nice vid
Sorry only just seen your message. Definitely give it a go!
I’m thinking of doing race to the king this year (maybe just 50k though😅)
Can’t wait to run this. Great briefing. I’ll check the details for parking and arriving

Fantastic achievement! I’m doing this next year with my mate (over two days). Really looking forward to it!

Great video James. Captured the day very well. It was really nice to meet you and congratulations! What a day we had 😅
Ariun!! Was so lovely meeting you, and you definitely helped me get through some of those miles 😅.
Hope you had a great rest of the race.

Awesome video James, captured the day really well. It was a pleasure meeting you at the start of the race. Hope your recovery's going well!
Thanks Craig. Likewise, It was great to chat with you at the start.
Aldo well done on your result, I saw you finished in a really good time 💪
Well done buddy! Going from strength to strength as ever 💪💪
Thanks Mark, I’m now looking forward to some shorter distance races in the near future.
That one really pushed me to my limits 🥵
Congratulations. Great run round for you.
Thank you. It was great but equally enjoying the rest now 😂
Well done phenomenal effort
Thank you 🙏🏻
Well done James - can't begin to get my head around what 100k must be like! Great job!
Thanks Julian, it was definitely hard going, but the good thing about this event, there’s no cut off, so doable 👍.
100k is awesome. Set goals, work up, and they are doable. It's as much about head as legs. Got to be mentally as well as physically strong.
Well done, think i saw you around the 90k mark when the weather was terrible, but was a great experience
Thank you Chris.
Ah the 90k mark, it was all a bit of a blur around that then 😂.
Thanks for watching and well done to you for getting it done too!

Thank you, a typical British summers day 😂
Awesome running James!!! Huge kudos to you mate!!! 👏🏅 100 mile next mate 😉
Cheers Ben, not sure if it’s too soon to be thinking about a 100 miler 😂. But you never know. 😬
Thanks again for watching mate!

Great stuff mate, thrilled for you that as a photographer you got to finish in some dreamy golden light 😂 Great work and well done!
Cheers Andy, obviously I planned the golden hour finish 😂😅.
I just got in through the ballot for next year and found your video. Haven’t done 100k ever. Dreading it 😢.
Well done for signing up, and good luck in your training when it starts.
You’ll have a great time next year, just try to enjoy it 👍😅
Great job mate!
Thank you Phil 🙏🏻
Well done
Thank you 🙏🏻

Nice video. Criminally low views. You back this year? If so I may see you there. Loved King last week, roll on Stones in three weeks.

Amazing James, super achievement 🎉 well done for battling through and good to see you got some decent food in after! Hope the recovery is going well 👍
