Shout out to the Black Templars. Helbrecht saw this shit and said "As soon as we're done with the Orks, They're next."
He needs to sit down and mind his own business for his own good. Black Templars don’t need another L on their record. About to reach Night Lords level of cringe.
Hell yes he did he's the best boi
The Black Templars are counting down the days that they’re allowed to crusade against the inquisition.
If they team up with the Dark Angels and the Space Wolves, they'll be hard to stop.
I mean... BT just want to Crusade, for all of eternity. Their hatred knows no bounds.
*Rowboat Gorillaman starts sweating copies of the Codex Astartes*
@@richardtaillon1616 I think it would honestly be a hard choice for him to decide on one hand they are going against the codex on the other hand. They are very obviously loyal They just hate the bureaucratic nightmare the imperium/Inquisition has become which he also hates.
@@richardtaillon1616given the High Lords and Inquisitors in their pockets along with damning reports against the Minotaurs, he may just give the orders after "investigating" gets predictably messy. It's just going to be prolonged thanks to the Tyranids
I can imagine Guilliman looking into what happened to the lions and just going to the inquisition and saying “WHAT ARE YOU IDIOTS DOING!?”
Dude imagine if Dorn came back.
No i think he send a scroll in the mouth of the inquisitorial representative

The Celestial Lions should take a page from the Dark Angels and Black Templars when it comes to the Inquisition.
That being?

Don’t forget the Space Wolves
The Celestial Lions are true sons of Dorn, and played completely within the rules with an official complaint. The Inquisitor Apollyon's actions were borderline heretical, and frankly deranged given how anyone of his standing knows full well that the complaint against him would have been lost in the bueaucracy of Terra for centuries, before being ignored.
Wasting vital resources to wipe out an entire Loyalist Space marine chapter out of spite for wounded pride deserves to be investigated by other Inquisitors.
Indeed. It’s way overdue for another inquisition faction to send his coconut to the Lions, sans the rest of him.
@@kingleech16 I'd much rather the lions or at least the black templars to create that particular cadaver
You know what, sure, go ahead and send that missive to the Ordo Astartes complaining about malpractice within their ranks, see what that gets you.
Emperor only knows that worked _so well_ the first time.
@@PeterDivine I don't think Apollyon was of the Ordo Astartes, since he wasn't actually investigating the Celestial Lions, just persecuting them on the quiet.
I’ve vaguely noticed how most of dorn and the glorious hawk boys chapters tend to be either insane or tragic.
Examples: Flesh Tearers and Black Templars,
Lamenters and Celestial Lions.
you forgot the soul drinkers, their chapter master sapardon looked like the boss from monsters inc :D
Flesh Tearers are Blood Angel successors, not Imperial Fists
@@JKGhosty I was basing it off the Insane and then tragic chapters,
The Fleg Tearers and Black Templars,
Then Lamenters and Celestial Lions.
Lamenters are a 100% blangel/fist chimeric chapter and you cannot change my mind
The Celestial Lions are one of my favorites. Their lore is legendary and they are one of the most WRONGED legions that have ever been, may the Inquisition be damned for their perfidy.
(Next to the Lamenters, that is, they really got cosmically screwed...)
Chapter not legion
@@JammesJack-td6gv Sorry, Chapter.
Having an FBI agent codenamed "Big Bird" boot my door down is a fear I didn't know I had
Big Bird is always watching😂😂
As sure as the tides rise then fall and as sure as the sun will rise and set….Big Bird watches
Believe me if they knock down your door its a psi-op because they have weapons so complex they could walk you into jail and make you think you deserved it or just force you to kill yourself.
Hahahaha
Genesis Chapter. Please. A whole chapter of Ultraspares. What a galaxy.
I tweeted ADB after I Reading Spear of the Emperor stating my displeasure at what he did to the Celestial Lions. He replied, “I created them, I can do whatever I want to them” 😂 total boss move
LMAO, tbh, if they didn't had this tragic story they wouldn't be that cool imo. It's what makes them so unique and so likeable.
Almost every faction in 40k gets fucked over, it’s why I love the lore so much.
Coincidentally the second group of Imperial Fist successors that Grimaldus interacted with and nearly witnessed the extinction of, the first being the Shadow Wolves, who also coincidentally happen to have a theme on something to light and animals.
Grimaldus was definitely not going to let himself lose some more brothers, especially not after the Shadow Wolves and Helsreach.
Also funny thing apparently helbrecht found out what happened to the rest of the lions and basically told grimaldus he has free reign to bash the inquisition months of shame style.
Someone needs to make that Predator handshake meme of Space Wolves on one side with Celestial Lions on the other and *"hating the Inquisition"* in the middle where the hands are shaking
I really like the aspect of the lions having a real feeling of brotherhood amongys themselves being able to make jokes and their method and ritual way of telling stories is soo cool
I'd love to hear more about some of the Raven Guard successors, feel like they get overlooked a lot of the time, love your vids bone man!
Soul Drinkers, how they fell and attempted to make their own way through the galaxy.
I also appreciate how you're bringing up these chapters into the light. It helps me appreciate those like the celestial lions more than I did before
The twist near the end of the book 'Spear of the Emperor' with the Celestial Lions was tragic.
The fact they even got something approximating a “sorry” from an inquisitor is actually a monumental W for the setting.
They need to be protected like the Lamenters
Unless you're the Space Wolves or Dark Angels. While I love the Imperium, it is guilty of lots of double standards.
Don't forget the Black Templars skirting the limit on marines per chapter chapter limits by always being on crusade.
With the Wolves and DA I think it's less double standards and more inquisitors being scared shitless.
@@Sara3346 Not to mention Dark Angels have their dad back now...
My boys 🙌🏽
They are the only ethnically black chapter in all lore based space marines, which is wild consider current global demographics
Isn't the Astartes' skin melanin supposed to change dynamically depending on UV exposure? Minus certain legion lineages with broken gene-seed, of course. I don't think I've ever seen that be used.
On paper? Yes. In practice? No not really.
Yes!!! I’m so happy you covered the Celestial Lions! They really are one of the best chapters out there. I really hope GW expands on their lore soon. The certainly deserve it.
So I find myself lately going "hey I'm Arthur" whenever I put your stuff on and the intro through me and I'm cackling
RIP Sgt. Dubaku. Grimmaldus saved him just to be killed by an assassin.
Great video! I love the celestial lions, such an interesting chapter of space marines. I would recommend "The Executioners" for the next fan video. They remind me a lot of the war hounds before meeting angron.
I haven’t played any GW since like 1993, so it’s fun to get a window into the 40K universe through your videos.
Rest well sons of Dorn you've earned it and you're with the praetorian himself now O7
Imperial fist: The oldest brother who always busy building sand canstles.
Black templar: the raging middle brother, hot blood but caring.
Celestial lion: the naive young brother who is too nice for his own doing. Need protection from both older brothers.
How about Crimson Fist?
I own over 6K points of celestial lions and I am grateful you’re giving them a spotlight for others to enjoy them like I have. Thank you
Just found this series, was happy to see the Mantis Warriors getting some love. Really enjoy the concept, I would like to suggest the Ashen Claws chapter for a future episode.
I'm so surprised how fast you have grown I remember you from 10k it's so wild and I'm proud of you and a chapter I think a lot of people would love to see is the red scorpions I think their lore in the badab war (rhymed) is really outstanding or even the libations really unique chapter
@1:09 no worries man. We know what we're about.
I would personally love a silver skulls video
This man out here slandering the salamanders, forgetting they will save children but not the eldar children.
Great video bones, I’ve always been interested in the celestial lions thanks for talking about them. Future ideas I’d like to see would be the dark krakens for the salamanders or maybe the Smilodon’s of the white scars.
To follow up on the Celestial Lions, the Excoriators, the sad never-give-up bois of dorn, one of which won a sword tournament by bleeding more than the other attendees
Ah someone who mentions my beloved, The Iron Snakes. Actually what I find is the more clean cut a legion is, the more I like the wacky successors. Iron Snakes, Black Templars, White Consuls, Crimson Fists, etc
I will no longer be shouting when vulkan but please when vulkan.
I'd be up for a video on the Storm Wardens, the Celtic themed chapter created for the Deathwatch rpg.
Nemesis Chapter (22nd Chapter of the Ultramarines Legion)
I really hope we get a short story of them running into robot girlimam and once he’s learned, the truth literally goes to the inquisitor and just crushes him like a grape.
Funny thing, the celestial lions resemble my family crest. Field of blue , divided with a gold cross and a rampant lion
This is great! Love the celestial lions!
I would absolutely love a Red Scorpions video... That I now request for the twelfth iteration.
Hugs and kisses,
cool dude
Never forget when Talos and the 10th company Night Lord boys put the lions on a Tshirt !
😮really...!?!
The Celestial Lions didn’t kill themselves
I love many of the less popular chapters so I think it’s awesome that you give them more attention as they often have an awesome story behind them. My recommendation would be the Sons of Medusa, an Iron Hands successor. Their backstory is wild.
8:54
Sons of Dorn, together, strong!
Great video as always, I love these! I don’t think there’s a ton of lore of them, but a video on the sons of Medusa would be really cool.
2:40 Yeah, nah, that's not right. That concept of honour and nobility goes hand in hand with the Salamanders ethos, image and lore. Maybe they don't exhibit that notion of landed gentry/nobility class which seems to be what you're getting at. I dunno, I'm pretty baked right now, but I'm pretty sure I'm on the money about this.
The Celestial Lions were the first to encounter an Ork sniper lol
Remember, Orc snipers can always get you...even when deep behind Imperial lines...even when that one sniper spot is held by members of the inquisition...weird how that works.
And Congrats on 107k!
10/10 opener, best remix of that meme I've seen.
I never knew these guys existed, I think their design is pretty cool and really matches their personality. Good/10
I think a further iteration of this series looking at the legions prior to reuniting with their primarch, going over their unique, self-developed traits and cultures from the unification wars into the great crusade would be interesting
I LOVED "Spear of the Emperor" which had a very compeling story as well as a very unusual setting for a 40K storyline. Hope we'll see a spinoff someday.
I propose the next Chapters for analysis in your videos, Arthur:
Marines Errant (Actual Space MARINES, as in specialized in boarding actions and working closely with a Rogue Trader Dynasty)
Exorcists (Discount Grey Knights that get possessed by minor daemons and have to exorcise themselves as part of their induction -work closely with the Ordo Malleus)
Mortifactors (Most metal Ultramarine Successors, covered in bones and using Power Scythes)
Fire Angels (Ecclesiarchy-aligned Ultramarine successors that worship Big-E as a God)
Hey now, it is a crime that the white scars and jaghatai are not far more popular. The single most under rated and under appreciated legion ever. Jaghatai is absolute beast and so is the legion. Dude is one of my fav primarchs
I relate ro the lions a lot... The Imperial Fists are my favourite legion.. and there stotic nature and honor and prowess but also kindness and humanity is truly noble in such aweful times... And I myself have def fallen into the "taken advantage of becuase of nobility" several times so I understand their plight ...
Hi Arthur, I'm fairly new to the channel however I would like to suggest you talk about the cursed founding chapters, it doesn't have to be a video for each one, I know this topic is know but I don't see people talking about it often.
I feel like if you're doing fan-favorites you definitely need to cover the Lamenters. Maybe the Exorcists as well, not as high profile but I've seen nothing but praise for their concept. I'd say Black Templars but you already have a dedicated video for them.
I would love if you could do a top 10 books to read. Or maybe once a week make a post about what youre reading. Maybe even a book club!
Love the video. A good chapter to cover is the Genesis Chapter of the Ultramarines
I would like to know more on the Iron Hounds, saw them once in the codex but haven't found much else about them. They look cool though.
Hey man, keep up the great content! I think covering more prominent chapters from the 3rd founding would be dope, like maybe the Executioners, or Charnel Guard if not from Dorn, both seem to have their own personality separate from their legions going on, plus their founders were badass heresy veterans; just a thought. Anywho thanks for the vids and peace ✌
When a bunch of logical and helpful Space Marine chapther get paired by the super corrupt and easily paranoia of the Inquisition.
Its a racipe of a full time disaster.
While it isn't a chapter, I would greatly appreciate a video on Cassian Dracos and the Disciples of the Flames.
You may have pointed me in the direction of the Space Marines I like the most so far ty mate
One chapter of love to see get covered (probably not for a while though) is the astral knights.
they’re definitely one of the secret legions the emperor made himself but didn’t tell anyone about, that’s why they’re so badass and were able to take out a planet sized necron super warship.
I wonder how many people won’t know what I’m talking about, it’s only been a few years since TTS died
I really love the celestial lion style but the plot line really is something that spurs me a lot on 40k.
Okay yes I know it’s a grim darkness future there is only war etc etc but I am very much a person who needs small fragments of light and good to make the fight worth while and get emotionally invested.
Killing off characters who are genuinely good people to reinforce the idea that grim dark makes sense but also undermines my desire to be invested in those stories.
It’s what eventually put me off the game of thrones novels
One of my favorite chapters of the Sons of Dorn. 💪🦁
He mentioned White Scars! For the Khan!!! RAAAAAAAAAHHHH!!!!!
I havent got past 2:00 into the video but all I know about the Lions is from the book Spears of the Emperor, where the Inquisition goes through loads of trouble to get one of those shape shifty temple assasins to kill their chapter master on the other side of the Cicatrix Maledictum while dealing with Chaos warbands, and I just thought at that point that the Inquisition is comically insane and petty.
Minotaurs, Minotaurs, and the Minotaurs
This is a much better story than the months of shame, which couldn’t have any real consequences due to the wolves being an original legion.
I have request for a chapter. You could possibly look at, the Black Dragons I just think they’re really cool plus their overall aesthetic appearance, and the fact that there’s somehow a salamander successor chapter which I guess makes sense anyways I just thought I would be cool if you could talk about them.
Besides that, keep up the good work 👍
You know what no one ever talks about, the fact the Black Dragons deployed their whole chapter to Armageddon.
It was through the learned fate of the Celestial Lions that Shrike and his Ghost Stalkers knew that after losing Perfectia to the Tau, the Minatours 4th company showing up couldn't be good and acted accordingly ie sending the 4th company captains head back to the High Lords.
Explain like kayvaan shrike
Worldeaters successors are getting closer everyday
I want Dorn to come back and all his successor chapters all come up and say “daaaad the inquisition has been bullying us while you were away” I’d love to see pissed off dad Dorn
This is my all time favorite chapter. Even above the Space Wolves.
Aurora Chapter, aurora chapter is ultramarines successor that predates the ultramarines as a legion during the great crusade and has an unhealthy love of tanks
Much enjoyed this video. They did send out their own scouts. Only for them to mysteriously die.
I talk about the iron snakes all the time, but I have all 3 novels they feature primarily in, and the novels where they show up as minor appearances.
I have a strange chapter that I love and I have no real clue why I love them. the Skull Bearers are a speculated successor of the Executioners, but beyond their chapters colors, heraldry, homeworld, and recent military engagements nothing more is known about them. because of the lack of lore I do not expect anyone to cover them, but I just wanna say they are neat. 😋
I like the angels encharmine, I had to do some digging but that’s the chapter that was in the twice dead king books. They have a separate history of course but I could find much about their lore relating to those two books other than the books themselves. Nothing on their wiki says they were in the books I think
Rainbow Warriors, Black Dragons, Sons of Antaus, Raptors
Black dragons, lamenters and red talons are chapters id like to see covered
Ironically not the only time the spite of the Inquisition caused a serious problem with a loyalist chapter.
The Tiger claws come instantly to mind.
Can you do a video about how absolutely BONED the Lamenters Chapter is? I think they need love...
That Emperor's Spears book was dope.
As are the mantis warriors and their way of speed menaces without bikes
You should cover the Excoriators.
They are one of the chapters that guard the eye of terror.
They are effected by "Dorn's Darkness"
Either way, keep up the good work.
HUMIE!
MORE OF DA ORK STUFFS!
Can pay in teefs
Crimson fists are Spaniards more than anything. Many of the campaigns where they are vastly outnumbered by orks resemble the Spanish conquistadors outnumber by Aztecs or Incas. They even have a Cortez! (being Hernan Cortes the "first" and most important conquistador).
Btw, cover the Crimson fists, pretty please
I'm still waiting excitedly for the Angry Marines special. I used to frequent /tg/ at a very magical time in history.
As a bonus can you explain why psychers automatically roll critical failures against Sexy Orcs
I like the consecreators this dark angel successors that follow the way o the firewing of old but also they are a bit trolly they have a bunch of the legions old relics so they'll just leave it somewhere to use it to bait out the more arrogant members of the fallen
The lessob we get with celestial lions dont mess with the inquisition at least you are a dark angel or space wolve
I know they've been done by pretty much every loretuber at some time or another, and there isn't much lore to even discuss. I don't know if you've done them before this, but I would love to see your perspective of the Lamenters. Also seems appropriate to ask due to "Bad Luck."
I would very much like to see you cover the Nemesis chapter, they are an ultramarines successor that, I personally feel, are quite interesting and may warrant some exploration :)
Since you enjoy the flayed ones, I think you'd probably like and do a great dive into the Mortifactors; the cannibalistic Ultramarine successors.
Can you please cover the Sons of Medusa, i really like how they came to existence tho i do understand how they arent much too different from the original Iron Hands
