The Object 292 is finally here in War Thunder. This T-80 has a modified turret to house a massive 152mm cannon to fire an APFSDS so heavy and fast it can punch a hole through a Leopard 2's turret cheek. Weighing 7kg and travelling close to 2000m/s it's the best APFSDS in the game right now.
The Object 292 could be seen as being overpowered in War Thunder. At BR 10.0 it's certainly one of the fastest and well armoured MBT's at this battle rating. This coupled with its insane firepower puts it at one of the better 10.0 tanks in the game.
This was actually a lot of fun to play due to the round doing minimal damage to most tanks it faced. That is unless, you aimed for parts of armor you would otherwise avoid. Just aim center mass of the turret and watch your frags pile high!

The kinetic energy that dart has is about the same as an L3/33 going roughly 333kph or a Maus going 43kph... I don't know why anyone would ever need to know this but you're welcome anyways.

Because of the gun calibre, HEFS is actually quite viable if not more reliable than the super high pen APFSDS

Depends on the situation, close quarters I prefer HE but long distance, and especially if you haven't researched the lase rangefinder yet, APFSDS is the way to go
It's just a kill counter, first who gets 60 kills wins. Nothing changed, each team starts with 6000 tickets and if you run out (60 deaths or 60 kills for the other team) the round is over.
I have played for 5 years and never knew how that worked until now.
never seen this game mode get the 60 kills win, but i have seen wins from "there are no active players on the enemy team"
@@connivingkhajiit it has always been there, it's the battle mode where every team has two caps. It is often won because the enemy runs out of players that are willing to spawn and not because the tickets run out (or your team gets 60 kills with the new UI). The only thing changed is the UI

the way i look at it is, looks ugly but is useful to quickly see who is winning

the numbers at the top on the left and right side is how many kills each team has. its supposed to be a team deathmatch with the option of capturing the point and ending the game instantly. basically whoever has more kills, wins, unless the cap is taken
Yeah, the mode has not changed but now it just has a confusing and distracting UI.
@@filonin2 the UI is less confusing and distracting/more fitting than before tfym, how can it be distracting anyways? i can sort of get confusing but it takes up LESS space than the old one
I thought it was quite clear and not confusing at all. Like how does it not make sense that the goal is 60 kills or cap? Yeah it’s a little distracting, but that’s because it’s different.
@@molstad182 Yeah I agree, it is much more legible now. The team that reaches 60 kills first wins the game. Or you can cap the point which just gives you those 60 kills at once and it wins you the game.
The little stars/ diamonds after every kill is a little goofy. It’s just one of those changes that feels like a consultant suggested and doesn’t really improve anything

I literally have all crew slots unlocked for and I there is still not have enough slots for all the 10.0 vehicles that are available now.

It’s definitely getting moved up. They just put it this low so people would grind that insane cost. Once it gets moved up to 10.3 there isn’t much of an appeal to use it over the T-80B. It might even get moved higher.

The 60 at the top of the screen is to cap the kills at 60 so the match doesn’t take as long. So it’s along the lines of either cap the enemy point to win or have your team acquire 60 kills to win.

The new interface works pretty simple 60 kills and if you cap the second Zone for your team it will just give your team kills until you reach 60
Statement from WT
We’ve improved the HUD in the Battle ground gamemode, to make the goals and objectives of each team clearer. We’ve removed the team points bar in favor of a more readable display of the number of destroyed vehicles to win and the current number for each team. Under this indicator you can now also see a timer, where when this runs out, the team that has destroyed the most enemy vehicles wins.

Yeah, I just started an EMS job with 24 and 48hr shifts. There’s no way I would be able to grind this out, thankfully this new job grants me nearly double the pay I was making previously, so I’m just gonna buy the damn thing

It's explained in the changelog... 60 is the number of kills a team needs to reach for insta-win in battle mode (it's more explicit that starting with 6000 tickets and having to check the scoreboard for it) left and right are the kill counters for each team. The new HUD for battle mode is very simple and readable. I don't know what the fuss is except that people should learn to read changelogs I guess ?

I think understand the new UI - The coloured numbers are your team's / enemy's victory points, each kill gives one point and capping the enemy cap point fill the counter to the top of 60. The 60 in the middle is the amount of points you need to win
I love fighting these with my M735. Sideshots get sent to the abyss, my LFP shots barely do damage, and I can barely get through the turret cheeks.
Overall a balanced addition for sure!
I'm trying to spade my TTD and facing these with the inadequate M111 is a pain in the ass, so I understand your pain.

This was before that the black eagle came after as a revisit slash last gasp of the main factory of the t80 to gain relevance it failed though.
Spent months grinding for the M1 Abrams only to have to take it up against teams full of this thing.
Reminds of me of the Roma from World of Warships, one of the weird vehicles where aiming for thicker armor is actually better.
The more I watch your videos, the more happy I am that all I have left common with WT is watching your videos. Haven't played it for a year now and I'm not sure I'll ever come back. Though still nice to watch your battles from time to time.

@@Nyghtrid3r It's way easier to read than the old HUD. Now you don't have to open scoreboard to see which team is leading when you are in the middle of a long battle.

You really should take some time to try the HE round in the object 292. It is strong enough on its own that you can take all HE and still have a crazy time one tapping abrams.
I can't wait to see the experimental version of the T94 which is invulnerable to all damage and one shots everything.

scoreboard is tracking kills for each team at top, looks like first to 60 wins and capturing the base seems to quickly tick this up, so its probably total score condensed into how many kills to get to 60 points
The 152mm T14 is said to reload faster than the 125mm T14 due to a new, different autoloader.
Main limitation of the big gun is the ammo count. If your targets can be killed by 125 there is no point to carry 152 with lower ammo count.

I am surprised you didn't use just HE since it has almost the same TNT equivalent as a Vidar M107 but at 920 m/s. It's really fun to hit anything on the top of an enemy turret because it's almost always a K.O.
Ground clutter pain
The 292 doesn’t have that loud turbine sound so you can barely hear the tank even when it’s really close. For you it’s loud when driving it, but then enemies completely unaware
The scoreboard for battle thing is a kill counter
Its either whoever gets the cap first or whoever gets to 60 combined kills wins
But it usually ends up the same battle mode game since you cant get 60 combined kills most of the time
Use the HE, Dollar showed it works very well on MBT's.
I love how they add this without hesitation but are very reluctant to give the challenger its proper round...

The 60 is the new way for those to defend point battles. Each kill your team made means a point. the first team with 60 points wins. After you cap you get something like 15 points every second.
If you don't already know it. The marder guy you're talking about at 15:37 was banned in March.

We were losing both games.
@@OddBawZ You still lose the ability to get more points so it is their best interest to shoot you down. Mission score is all that matters in the event. Winning or losing is irrelevant and a "friendly" with a nuke is just another enemy trying to stop you from making that number go higher.
@@filonin2 Winning is very relevant. It gives you and extra % on top of what you earned. I also had seconds to spare both times to clutch the game but instead I got Strela'd.
Me, In my Vilkas with every shot over-penning. They aren't happy when 2 spikes hit their domes.
Gaijin will have trouble balancing. This is why they should add the panther 2 tiger 105 and the flakpanzer 341 back.

Me personally. I prefer playing the he since the damage is just so konsistent no matter what angle. I do always Carrie apdsfs for long range match where the Velocity can really troll you on the he.
For people that don't know, there's a very good proposal for a Latin America tech tree on the forums posted a few weeks ago. It's just for the ground forces, but either way, it's one hell of a sight & it's got some vehicles that you wouldn't believe existed.
If only Gaijin actually would do that.
i agree with move up to like 10.3-10.7 but the difficulty is the fact of the armor and effectiveness higher due to the pace of matches higher up

The "60" means that you need 60 kills to automatically win, with the side numbers being the teams' combined kill counts.
You can actually main the HE round.
Hearing that team mates (not really mates are they!) are shooting you down when you have a nuke makes me angry enough to even make a comment about it. I honestly believe team killing nukes especially on purpose should be locking people out of crews or the nation really they were using for like a week or something.
15:30 cannot agree more with this comment. It is obvious in more and more games I join lately. People knowing where you are before showing on to them, and shooting way too accurate on impressively hard to hit one shot kills. Really sad that GAIJIN is not addressing this plague seriously.

I killed one a few days ago and had never seen it before, (or at least never noticed it) even though I play similair BR's to it.
I dont think a lot of people play midtier Japan and so its probably not something that a lot of people even know of, nevermind how to use. Plus its always good to share some love to probably the most overlooked nation in the game when it comes to tanks
Playing event vehicles is usually super fun! But grinding for them is soul crushing
I've bounced on leopard turrets with the 292....as for your t80 experience... i've never had the experience of just running over a team my teams always get stopped and it becomes a struggle fest or they get nuked.
18:00 "that ghost shelled" my opinion is that it missed an inch left of the turret, and bc tank moving fwd, it obstructed LOS with impact pt. touch too much lead imo, nonetheless fun stuff xD
If you notice the difference between a ghost shell and a miss is that the HE didn't explode after the target. The server got confused and just deleted it.

I'm not worry about fighting the 292 on war thunder as a top tier american player but a good break now and then helps such as playing as my t-34/85d5t soviet tanks and german line up im between those three good hit from the si de turret with m109 will help out

you know when you think about it, getting that round to almost 2000 m/s with that much mass, has to be some kind of equivalency to power a small town for x amount of days... considering that the ak-47 doesn't even crack 1000 m/s, and sure smaller round smaller and different accelerant and all that...but jesus...2000 m/s....my god...
