Marder is goated. You need to be aware of the slope you fire from. The launcher has significantly less depression than the gun and traverses slower too so you can’t shoot on steep slopes. That’s why the missile is hitting the ground.
7.7 marder is tricky, though the missiles are okay and its pretty mobile and you can get pretty cool angles if you position correctly. 8.0 marder is even better
utility wise, marder A1 is a good vehicle but in terms of firepower its pretty bad. only 4 ATGM and awful 20mm cannon, u struggle to pen even light tanks front and u can forget about medium tank sides. laser rangefinder and fast firing gun can hurt helis and low flying aircraft though.
You're playing it like a heavy tank. try flanking, and not picking fights with every tank you see, for example if you see a heavy tank you can't penn, scout it and leave it for the next guy. focus on the light tanks of the tier like bmps and 906s, and you will find your success. or just like switch mains idk happy suffering lol
The marder is ok. I had one nuke with it when it was still 7.3. You can't play it like quite like a bmp and it definitly has problems dealing with multiple heavy enemies. But saying that the 20mm is useless isnt true. It's good against planes and light tanks and can disable other tanks
The Marder A1 is goated, I think you just need to play it correctly. First 5 seconds of the video you miss the ATGM completely but still have enough reverse speed to escape.
the tank is difficult to use on many maps, but what can you say about how the anti-tank gun flies 3:31 in this part of the video, I don’t understand why they fly into the ground!
@@John_WarThunder-ps8uz you were on a encline the launcher does not have that much of depression making the atgm go up and go down since you wanted to hit the target
@@John_WarThunder-ps8uz It's not a bug the early missiles just aren't very manouvrable. You basically shot it into the sky because the launcher can't depress so far, the missle corrects its flight path downwards but can't pull up fast enough so it overcorrects again. Getting farther away from the target, being on less of an incline and aiming up a bit before you launch helps. Try to not force it into an agressive change of flight path.
@@TeurastajaNexus Well, yes, he doesn't tank everyone, but if he has a normal map, he is quite normal! just like marder not all maps are suitable for him

The only thing halfway decent about the marder is its missiles. Most vehicles at the BR cant be penned anywhere by those 20s
*was it's missiles

Marder only comes out after leopard, DF105, and BMP die.

3:30 Were the missiles getting jammed?
It's the first time I've encountered it myself.
I guess I’m weird cuz I love this thing

You have to play it too carefully! And it is desirable that there are more cardboard opponents).

Thanks for the clarification, I'll know, then another question, when I fired the ATGM at the T34.
it zigzagged, why?
@@John_WarThunder-ps8uz its a bug probably other than that i really dont know

not so that bad, it's still good in some situations
Still better than the fucking T32 heavy tank. Murica at 7.7 suffers way more.
No, the T32 is pretty good. It's got a good gun and some armor. I like it better.
@@John_WarThunder-ps8uz Against downtiers, sure. Against missiles and APDS/APFSDS, no :D

yea the 1a3 is better but atleast you get an atgm i never had a problem with the marder
my atgm often flew into the ground or in some kind of zig-zags
Skill issue
you're right, I'm not a master of this tank
