      He has a different ex wife on the show Preachers Daughters. My husband read a book that he wrote. According to the book, his daughters are from his second marriage. He remarried about a year after his first wife died. One thing that I can respect about him is you never hear him saying anything bad about anyone else.

    In 1985 I took my son to Raleigh's Dorton Arena where the whole show was featured including you and Ivan in a tag team match. My then 11 year old son thought you were just a terrible person (Russia, heel, language, etc.) and was really cheering against you and Ivan. Anyway, after the matches I took him down to the floor to wait for everyone to get out of the dressing rooms and get some autographs. He was hoping for R&REx and Magnum TA. The whole crowd was waiting in front of the good guys dressing room, meanwhile, over on the heel side of the gym, there was no one. Buuuuttttt... Tully had not gone into the dressing room yet as he was talking to a female fan while holding a side door open to let in the cool night air. I suggested to my son he get Tully's autograph. He protested mildly that he was a bad guy and I said so what, he's a well known wrestler and you'll have his autograph. besides, your friends will consider that you were brave enough to get a bad guy's autograph. So he got it and to Tully's credit, he took several minutes to talk to my son asking the simple basic questions but putting him at ease and they parted with big grins. By then, YOU had come out of the dressing room in your street clothes and so I pointed him towards you. NO WAY DAD am I getting anywhere near Nikita Koloff! I again reminded him how brave his friends would think he was having Nikita's autograph. I had to walk with him part of the way before he mustered the strength to ask you for an autograph. It was funny because like Tully, you acted like you were not used to having young fans seek your autograph. And again, like Tully, you were kind to him and took time with him to make it something more than just giving some kid an autograph. And for that, I thank you sir. For sure the memory of the whole thing has long since faded in his mind, but not in Dad's. And when Ric came out, same story all over again. I can honestly say the three of you touched my heart in a way I never expected and all I can say is may God bless each of the three of you. Best of regards...

    When I was probably about 16 or so, my church youth group and I went to hear Nikita speak at a service. When it was over, I went up and had the opportunity to shake his hand and speak with him briefly, even doing my Dusty Rhodes impression I think. Seemed to be a really nice guy.
    I also have been checking out Arn's the new podcast entitled ironically enough, Arn with Conrad Thompson, and if I had to describe it in one word, I would say it's real. You don't get the character Arn Anderson, but in a lot of cases you get Marty Lunde the man behind the character. I obviously can't say for sure if there is legitimate heat between the two, I just think it'd be cool to have the opportunity to hang out with them for a couple hours, seem to be down to earth people.
    Thanks for the Post

    I wish he would have done this interview in character. I used to love listening to Nikita Koloff Interviews. I remember when I was a young kid in the 80s I thought he really was the Russian bad guy that he portrayed. I always rooted for Hills as a kid and I still do now, so Nikita Koloff was one of my favorites untio they made him a baby. I never will forget that interview that he did in the gym working out when he was talking about Lex Luger. I just listened to it again and the part that struck me was when Nikita said to Arn that he works about 4 days a month Arn said "see, there you go, that's one of the reasons why I hate you". tells me that it is jealousy and/or that something rubbed him the wrong way about Nikita that he can't let go. Yet in his interview Arn said that Nikita was "smart, he knew what he wanted and got out of the business instead of hobbling out like some of us guys did". I think he just disliked the fact that Nikita could do that and he couldn't or maybe he could, I don't know, I wasn't there but to say something like that after not seeing someone for 20 years, well......

    It may have been Jim Cornette he told to get up---Flair has said he told off Nikita one time when he tried to bully Jim ("You know how much money this guy draws, and you're treating him like a jabroni??"). Cornette said they would be on Crockett's plane & Nikita was still using the accent, so Arn would lean forward & yell "Hey GQball! We know you're Scott Simpson from Minnesota, you can drop the Commie act around us". But I've also heard guys (DDP, Chavo Guerrero) that have said AA talked down to them, so it may not be all Nikita

Your Arn Anderson, The Guy Big Kev make look Like a complete idiot on Nitro, leave the young Guys alone, they didn’t mean it, and we all know how Bret feels about that, and he even knew, it was an accident, Bret went in on him, if you never were connected to RIC, you wouldn’t be anything, only reason you survived here in WWF 88,89, as cause you had Tully, one of the all time greats, as your partner, So Shut Up, Arn walked out

    I don't know because I wasn't there, but I wonder if Arn had a dislike for Nikita because he was put over a lot, became very popular, always seemed to win against him and the Four Horsemen especially when it was Koloff , Rhodes and the Road Warriors against them? It might have been a personality clash but who knows maybe there was a bit of jealousy there because of the big push that Nik got? But to still be bitter seeing each other 20 years later, wow....something was very wrong there!

    • @josephscott6388

      prolly more perceived as not being properly appreciative of the chances he was getting, and the people who were making him, more because he was so new that he didn't get the locker room culture of bending over backwards to the elders in a show of appreciation for how they were building him. thinking about, nikita, lex, ultimate warrior and Goldberg were pushed super fast as well and were all perceived to be that way. like the kid who had to save up for his beat up used car might look at the kid who's parents bought a corvette for that he bitches about not being a porsche.

    • @lesschoenberger3070
      @lesschoenberger3070 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Joseph Scott That's a very good analogy and very real possibility. I would have thought "Uncle" Ivan would have set him straight about it being a veteran but who knows. I'm sure when Nik was teamed with Dusty as the "Superpowers" that also could've irked some guys too. Talking about it now he has nothing but respect for those guys and what they did, but back then who knows how he reacted. I would also put the Road Warriors in your list too, and Nik was buddies with them, mostly Animal, they were pushed fast and almost made unbeatable for quite awhile too.
      Good observation!

      It's a heel's job to get heat and put the faces over at the end of the day, so I assure you that Ric and the Horsemen had no qualms and pretty much expected to put the Roadies and Superpowers over in the War Games matches. Unless it was to further an angle, heels almost never won matches like that and on that type of big stage.

      Hand Solo lol I'm just not a fan of his bro. What did he have? He was a horrible worker, he always said the same thing " who's next" , the only thing he had was a look, but the one thing i despise about him the most is his reason for getting in to wrestling, money. He was never a fan but saw an opportunity to get rich when his football career ended prematurely, he never once paid any dues, turned in to a egotistical asshole that refused to do any jobs

    • @handsolo1209
      @handsolo1209 6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Ian Meadows - Good wrestler and good worker are not the same thing. Meltzer with his bullshit has conflated the two things. Good worker means people believe in a guy. Goldberg was not a great WRESTLER, but was an excellent WORKER because when he came out, the people popped big time and bought into him 100%. Shit like Benoit, etc couldn't draw flies, but because he did some dives, he was a great "worker"? Nah, he was a decent wrestler, but a shitty worker. Don't mix up the 2 things.
      Big deal if if he didn't "love" wrestling. He made more impact than most of these boring midgets today that "love" wrestling. A guy is either over, or he is not. If he is, then everyone makes money on his back, if he isn't, everybody suffers. You sometimes have to accept a guy that you don't think is a good wrestler like Goldberg because it gives exposure and money to a guy that you do like, but who cannot draw like Malenko, Saturn, etc.

    Hi, I'm searching videos to see if Nikita has ever discussed Steve Austin and vice versa? Stone Cold recently watched some old clips with Jericho and it struck me how much he looks like Nikita now.

    To all the people taking sides, you should know it is very possible they are both telling the truth. Here is how. Being on the road makes you tired, perhaps one day he was tired or in pain, many of these guys took painkillers, and someone got in his seat. In a moment he probably regretted later he may have blown up at some poor guy, but later forgotten all about it. I believe he may have done this, but i dont know if he was an all out bully like arn claims. Often, things are not always black n white, there is usually some gray. Ultimately what is important is that he doesnt seem to be that kind of guy anymore (if he ever was) since giving himself to god. It appears to me, he has grown and matured as a man, seems like a cool guy now and that is what really matters, we grow and mature.

      I agree with you. I think people do not realize how much people can change over time. I know that I did things in my teens and twenties that I am not proud of and would not do today. If someone did not like us and were offended by something that we did, they usually remember it a lot longer than we do, especially if it had happened about 25 to 30 years ago. People can have personality conflicts where both can get along with other people and seem to be good people, but can't get along with each other. I think this may have happened in this case.

    Loved Nikita Koloff and the Russian Nightmare back in the 80s. And all his feuds with Magnum TA and Dusty. But come on man, all you had to do was watch his promos and listen to him talk to realize there was no way he was Russian. I don't know what he was trying to sound like but it was a bad attempt at an accent. lol

    Fair enough.Its not like it was a huge issue anyway.He said the jist of what I heard Arn say. They weren't exactly tight and they sparred a bit back and forth,but worked together,learned together and made it happen.Non issue. And Arn said even tho he felt that way at times back then with Nikita that he understood Nikita had a change of heart of late and good on him for doing that.Non issue on either side👍💪

      Ok kid, sling me in the corner and I'll flip over it, run down the apron then you clothesline me. Now, slingshot me in the corner and I'll bounce out into a back body drop. Ok, now, I'll do the rolling knee drop. Now, body press me and then I'll beg for mercy.
