😮 Unbelievable, especially as a kid, Nikita & Ivan Koloff were one of the scariest looking tag teams... My mom ALWAYS bought me a copy of "Pro Wrestling Illustrated" and I was able to follow their wrestling careers. Truly... One of the classic monster tag teams, like EVER!! 👊👊

Now, sadly all those guys are gone, obviously most recently, Animal. I grew up watching these guys. They were an inspiration to me. I'm 52 yrs. old, 5'8' and 250 lbs., still have 18" arms, 50" chest, 28" quads. And can still run around 20 minutes a day. All thanks to the inspiration from everyone he mentioned. Thanks to Nikita and all of those that are gone now. And thanks Hannibal for this interview!!

I was 17 in 1985 and remember watching Nikita Koloff and NWA on Saturday Mornings in the New York area and these men gave me so much enjoyment that I could never properly thank them! It was so good that when the hour was over I could not wait till the next Saturday, thats how great Mid-south Wrestling was in those days. Devon the Hannibal does it again! Thank you, Hannibal, another great interview, and Nikita is a great guy too!

Rick W Wow! You just made some memories come back.
I was 19 in ‘85 and loved watching any wrestling I could. Having grown up in the NYC area, I would even watch the wrestling on Telemundo. The announcers on Telemundo, who at the time I didn’t understand, spoke with such energy that it made even more exciting.
The 70s and 80s were a great time for wrestling, especially the promos...

The Russian Nightmare as opposed to The American Dream...I'm glad I grew up in the 80's with wrestling. The old NWA and WCW were on TBS and I always watched it every week. So many wrestlers are gone now, but they will always live on in my memory and be a part of my life.

I was visiting family and wrestling was on tv and it wasn't the WWF. I asked who was on the television cutting a promo and how come I never saw him in the WWF.
I was informed, it wasn't the WWF but the NWA. I never heard of the NWA before and was in awe of what the wrestler I never seen before.
Suddenly, the camera view zoomed out and there was another, huge wrestler standing behind the wrestler who was cutting the promo.
I asked who these wrestlers were and my Aunt told me it was Dusty Rhodes and Nikita Koloff.
This was right after Magnum T.A.'s accident.
I was hooked to the NWA and will forever be a fan of NWA/JCP as well as Dusty Rhodes and Nikita Koloff.
Congratulations to Cody for winning the NWA World's Championship @AllIn
