    Hello.
    Congratulations on the channel, I'm a number 1 fan here in Brazil.
    I'm looking to ride a Cherokee xj for trails but here in Brazil, and it's hard to find preparation pieces, I'm importing a 6.5 "Rough Country kit to use 35" tires. I would like some tips from you to reinforce my Dana 30 to the fullest.
    Sorry for the bad English.
    Thank you in advance for your attention

    Good information ! I'd add Old Man Emu springs and shocks to the list for an excellent ride. Rubicon Express Control Arms and Track Bars are fine products too. If people would START with how much ground clearance the actually need and work from that number, I believe they would be happier on both street and trail.

    Hey, I bought a 2001 XJ Limited. Fully stock. I’ve had it for a year now and love it. I’m a daily driver and do some light off trail riding. I have 225 75 16 tires on it. All I’m looking for is a good lift or upgrade the stock suspension. I’d like a kit that would come with new set of leaf springs. Any advice on the best company or upgrade would be appreciated. Thanks

    Ronnie, did you know you can use 2wd 1500 chevy front brake lines to extend your brake lines. It gives you 5 more inches of brake line. Just to let you know

    Sup Ronnie, Rick Rocker from NY... Cool Video, Good advice. Up here this Yankee has suburban pot holes and up-state country... Worked my but off on my 99. Zone Flex Adjustable upper/lower control arms RE HD 5.5 springs that I cut down to 4.5 RC SYE... RE 3.5 rear leafs w/RC shackle relocation brackets. Napier flat fender flares. I wanted to go long arm but thinking of drop brackets. YOU SAID IT....You feel everything coming through those lower control arms. Oh and also that chart that's on the xj forum for control arm lengths isn't correct when you go above 4 inches. I have to get that caster better.
    Any suggestions?

    What's your opinion on the new n3 rough country shocks? I heard they're a lot better/more durable. Deciding between rough country and rubicon express

  • @wdmgarage1178
    @wdmgarage1178 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I put the 3 inch rough country spring pack lift on my XJ. I’m not sure what you mean about it riding rough. The new suspension rides great and has no swaying. Would recommend getting a adjustable track bar and extended bump stops. I would definitely get the rough country kit instead of spending double the price on another brand.

    • @cherokeeronnie
      @cherokeeronnie  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s how it starts out than they sag and it goes down hill from there lol it’s just my opinion

  • @ponypwr
    @ponypwr 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    I have a question for you Ronnie. You mentioned how weak the factory wore out rearleaf springs are. I noticed this on my XJ wherethe springs are already sagging at the factory shackles. Would a addaleaf fix this issue by adding support? Or should I get newish factory springs aswell as the addaleaf? This is a daily driver may do some mild wheeling couple times a year at best.

  • @benty46

    If you were to use lift blocks in the front what would you then reccomend (cheap) for the rear as you don't reccomend them on the rear leaf springs? Thanks!

    Hey man, I'm a total rookie and looking to lift a Cherokee. What's the best way to get an 8 inch lift?
    I mainly build hot rods and use to lowering everything. Never lifted anything.

    is it just me or does 2-3k seem a little much for a larger lift? i mean coils and shocks 4-500 bucks maybe and what else? pretty much just your track bar, control arms, sye, driveshafts, and some steering components along with some other miscellaneous stuff. so your looking at like maybe 1500 at most part by part right? what am i missing? anyone know any way around this?

    My dream vehicle has always been the XJ. After saving up enough money on the side with bills and college I finally am able to pick up my own XJ this weekend. I've already got the whiteboard in the garage filled up with future projects.
    Also just wondering what area you're from? What trails do you go on?

    I know this will be blasphemy for some,lol, i have 2001 Jeep Cherokee sport that is my daily driver,but the jeep bug bit me and i slowly started some mods. this is where ppl are gonna get pissed I myself hate the huge lifted cut up jeep xj's . I have been modernizing it with android radio bluetooth, and I just like stock jeep Xjs,. I would however for I suppose astetic looks like to lift it maybe an inch where i can have it with larger tires kinda like the 2000's style Toyota tacoma at the most. I myself dont do the work on my jeep when it comes to mechanical stuff that I consider major like transmission , head ect but my bestfriend is a mechanic and does it all for free for me. what lift should I get to have it just a lil higher and still be my evryday driver. I just love the stock look but like to make them alil modern and would like to get that done if you are on pintrest there is a white jeep just like mine that has a roof rack on it and is barely lifted in a showroom garage type setting wish youtube would let comments upload photos . Thats what I am trying to achieve though lil taller ,but still mainly stock. I already had the roof rack cause it was my old company truck we auction them off when they hit 100 thou. I paid 1000 dollars for it they come from the government my current one is from the D.O.D,some from the UN ,NSA,DEA,ARMY ECT. I am a Landsurveyor and the owner of the firm is a retired sgt general in the Army so thats why we have so many xjs lol, We call them mud buggies where the fords and chevys cant go cause we will use them to go down powerline cuts and over in eastern Arkansas where I am at right now Brinkley Ar delta mud territory. sorry so long for such a short question.I just love the Jeeps stock but modern and grew up having 2 xjs as a kid and a grand Cherokee way back in 98 in highschool. wish i still had those 2 xj,s my parents had.

    Ronnie, what do you think about Old Man Emu lift kits for Cherokee? Is it true that if you go over 3 inches, major alterations will have to be done for everything to operate correctly?

    I have a 3.5” Rubicon Express Superflex and would like a little more height maybe another inch so it rides like a 4.5”. What is the best way to do this, without just buying the 4.5” kit from rubicon express?

      Shackles in the back and front coil spacers.
      Or shackles in the back and 4.5" front coils
