The 450 is just purring right along. Does it make 3 red tractors that you own? I still think I was born in the wrong Era of time because I would rather farm with the good old tractors than the new stuff.
I have the 450 and two M’s. You can farm with the old stuff, just not at the acreage level of the average farm today. My yields are approximately what I would get with new equipment. Harvest equipment, especially the pull type combines, were not designed for today’s yields so they need to be in tiptop condition and pulled by a tractor with a slow gear like a JD 730 or the 450.
@@rogermiller7411 I grew up on a dairy farm. That be began my love of oliver but we had 1 super M that was on feed grinding detail twice a week for many years to when I hear your red tractors running it reminds me of that tractor. Unfortunately I have lost that tractor but I have been able to save some of the Oliver's and some are restored and some are in there work clothes still. But all are running and I try to use them on my farm every chance I get. That why I was asking about your plow day I would love to come down and just play and hangout and see all the old Iron out still getting the job done

I tried to buy a similar 450 last week at the big collector sale, but gave up as the price after hauling was getting too high for my budget. We are just now getting back in the field so the old culitmulcher is being brought out of retirement. Wasn't feeling too good today so a bit slow getting started.
I stopped at $2950. It was a bit rough and heavily modified. Supposedly ran ok, but who knows, as it was online only. Got a heavy rain storm yesterday, 3 inches. We needed a good shower after last weeks record high baked the freshly worked ground like a brick. @@rogermiller7411
