Born in ‘70’, absolutely loved that show. That is so awesome that you have 1 of 100 made. I was under the assumption that car had the 351 in it. Had no idea they had those with the 460. That’s also incredible. That is a really very nice car. Kudos to this guy.
Born in 64 and an artist from childhood, I used to draw this car for anybody that wanted it from 76 to about 78 when I was 12-14 years old. Great memories, great time to grow up.....
Thank you for this great story and for keeping the car in such pristine condition. I'm a huge fan of the car and the show and at 59, still wanting to build a replica. Came close once but didn't have the money. But someday...
Back in the days when normal people could afford to live their passion and buy their dream car. These cars may have had flaws but they were cool and had a strong identity. Authenticity and character. Thanks for the video and congratulations to the owner for his dedication.
So did I. First new car I ever bought. Put keystone klassics on her. Monthly bank loan payments were 95.00 per month. 400 Windsor in her. I loved that car. So did everyone else. Rust/red exterior wirh tan vinyl roof and matching upholstery. Such a great looking car.
I was 16 in 1978, I had to have one of these cars. I found one that was all black. I couldn’t afford to paint it red but I did manage to get a set of those aluminum slots to put in it. It was awesome!
Thank you for preserving it all these years. It probably hasn’t been easy. Thank you! Beautiful car. Hope you get a good chunk when you finally decide to part with it. God bless you.
Being a young kid growing up in Hollywood I got to see a lot of location filming for shows like Starsky and Hutch, Barretta, The Rockford Files, Adam-12, Barnaby Jones, etc. I saw the show car several times.
WOW 🤩 I was born in the 60s , watched all the Starsky & Hutch tv series ....this video has put a massive smile on my face and I never knew this car was available to buy as I'm not American ...that's an awesome story of how this man bought the car brand new ....its worth so much more than money and I imagine hes very proud to own it , I know I would be
Born in '71 here. As an italian kid living in Italy, back in the day I used to watch the show every thursday night at 8 p.m on the national tv, on a black and white tv screen! I'm a grown man now, and since I never tought there could be a car that could be moore cool than this one. I'm totally in love with the red striped tomato, and always be.
It was one of my most favorite shows from the 70s! I had no idea however, that Ford made a thousand 'Starsky and Hutch' cars because of the popularity of the show (and was was one of my favorite!). Thanks for the info and am glad you kept it all of these years!
Great story and production. i remember in 1976 our local Ford dealer got one of these. Always wondered why Ford did not market the Sport version as the S and H car. It had tach and Gauges and sports suspension. I know the sport version was discontinued in 76.
I had my tonsils and adenoids removed as a kid in the 70s and my parents gave me this toy car when I woke up from the operation. It came boxed with Starsky and Hutch figures. Love the car Greg ❤
I wish I had a Starsky and Hutch limited edition 1976 Ford Gran Torino but instead I have a diecast model that was made ERTL for the past twenty years.
THIS was the car that every boy in my neighborhood wanted, along with the Trans Am from the first Smokey and the Bandit. Third on the list was the original General Lee. But this beauty, oh my, I was in love with it!
Thanks for your service to our country! It is an absolute cool car .thanks for the video. I used to have a 1974 grand torino elite. It had the 351 Windsor. Man I miss torino. I had it 30 years ago.👍🇺🇲
Hello Mr Greg Korfe..Nice video.I was always waiting to watch this series " Starsky and Hutch " .An impressive car. From your side an excellent maintained car. Keep it up..
Max, that's cool and it's great to "meet you ". I used to love drawing all kinds of cars, trucks and dragsters, myself. One of my favorite cartoons of all time is The Far Side....
Incredible. This tv serie was very sucsess here in Brazil on tv . Left a lotado of fans arroubo the country , until today we have episodes on cable tv service. One of the best car and best tv show . Beutifull car from a time of real American cars and motors . Congratulations from São Paulo, capital. Brasil.
Nice. I enjoyed the video. Nice car. My aunt had one.. hers was brown. I’ve got a 1978 ford Granada 4 speed manual Ghia 351 Windsor worked over. We love our toys.
I own an 89 Geo Metro that made a brief appearance in the move ,Elbow Grease, featuring Burt Reynolds. I have won 2 car show tropics with it . I paid $150 for it 23 years ago. It now has 360,000 miles on it. But it also has ,mag wheels with wide tires, sunroof, hooked up side pipes and a carburetor sticking through the hood with a blower scoop. Just to name a few mods. Love intimidating the modern hot rods with it . 😄
Good for you, Greg! What a blast to drive around in that beauty. I made a video (it's on TH-cam) of the car using 'Run Like Hell' by Pink Floyd and clips from the show. I got so many comments criticizing the car and its handling. Like I care.
Omg, a friend of mine back maybe 30 years ago had 74 or 76 GranTorino with a 460 in it. With a 4 speed in it, now it didn't look like that, though, but dam that car would put you in the seat like nothing else! It was a work in progress for him. He got it from his dad at the time. The car was so dam fast, it was unreal!
Absolutely cool to keep this car pristine for almost 50 years.
I totally agree!!! That's the way it should be!!!
Born in 66, I watched Starsky and Hutch and this car is bad to the bone brother!
As a Torino owner myself I own a 72 fastback the Clint Eastwood special this is awesome RIP Hutch 😢
I wanted this car the moment i first saw it on Starsky and hutch it’s a classic
I think we all did. Loved this car.
The love of the Striped Tomato is beyond money and trophies. Thanks for sharing this beautiful car.
One of the best looking cars ever.
I loved "Starsky & Hutch" in the 70 s. And I loved to see this car. My mum had to by it for me in a toy shop 😍
That is one Awesome car !!!! And being the original owner makes it so much better!
Born in the late 70S , this car is the most iconic ever
Wrong. Born in the mid 70's. That body style was introduced in 73.
@@richardisner3671 That body style was introduced in 1972. 1976 was the last year for the Torino.
@@lvsqcsl introduced in 72 as a 73 model the 72 model had a different body style.
@@richardisner3671At what point in his comment did he say when that body was introduced?

Fabulous example!nice to see!!!
Possibly as iconic as Mad Max's 1973 Ford XB Falcon GT 351
That Falcon is pure badassery.

Very cool story, must not be many left. Even though we were in the smog age, the sheer cubic inch of that 460 must be pretty brutal.

I had one after high school 76 Dad had it ordered from Ford. Yours looks awesome. Love how you put together the history of Starsky and Hutch.
Great car and story. I'm glad Greg has it instead of someone that hides it away in a storage unit for no one to see.
My favorite TV car.
