I am deeply grateful that you do rackmount case reviews along with everything else that you do; it's not easy finding decent reviews for server cases, so thank you for being utilitarian. 🤣❤
The reason why there's 8 individual cables is because they cut costs on it by not putting an actual backplane in it. Those are just individual SATA and power combo cables. I wouldn't even think about trying to hot plug since those aren't part of an actual backplane.
Very interesting, looks like it would’ve been perfect for the 180tb home server room build I just did. Instead I used an on-sale fractal focus case, two stacked 5-bay drive cages, and a custom 3d-printed mounting bracket to secure the cages to my case. It cost me like $80 all together! Obviously my build doesn’t accommodate the same gpu length, but that plus a $50 metal rack got me all the practical functionality I need since my house isn’t a commercial office. I put a hot-swap drive bay in the front and found I never swap drives anyways. What was really useful is that I designed a custom-sized 3d-printed drive slot that fits in one of 5.25” front bays for my Atomos drive caddies with a dual data/power sata cable directly connected to the mobo. My server pc basically now has a giant SD card slot for me to quick-insert my video SSDs for storing footage. Obviously it’s not too much faster than just using a dual sata to usb cable but it’s satisfying as hell to use and nobody makes such a product afaik!
AS far as I can see, a proper backplane/expander board like you'd get in a server would either necessitate a PCIe add-on card, motherboard with SFF connectors (server motherboards primarily), or a SFF to SAS/SATA breakout cable.
The power supply doesn't need 15 amps in Aus. We have 240v as compared to America and several other countries that have 120v. Watts is Volts x Amps so Aus standard 10amp outlet = 10 x 240 =2400 watts. America needs the 15amp plug because- 15 x 120 = 1800watts, just over the power rating for that PSU. That's why, it's not a trick. Therefore, a standard AUS (10amp) outlet can support well above what that power supply needs.
Crazy to me that server cases don't have 5 1/4 bays. For branded rack servers I understand. This needed a bay for a Bluray HD Ripper. Silverstone is still the OG, Lian Li too!
It would be pretty great to have these indeed available. I am looking for a good case for my new upcoming system albeit, the system will be more a consumer type of system because of price being limited, to 4K€
Unykach is also selling this case. And regarding the AIO install... have you ever seen the video from Gamers Nexus -> Stop Doing It Wrong: How to Kill Your CPU Cooler (AIO Mounting Orientation) ?
Pretty sure the highest point is the tube, or the in/outlet at the radiator. If it's rack mounted, the radiator is still going to be the highest point.
Gigabyte is garbage. It doesn't work. The software fails; it never installs or launches and crashes when it does. Bugs tf out for no reason 10/10 don't recommend any of their products. Because it wasn't one product, it was multiple that failed me

Thats what I'm here for! To help you guys out!

@@jeremywiginton2502 It should still be hot swappable since SATA data and power cables support hot swapping. Still not a fan of this though
Loved the paste application. I use cling wrap, and finger paint it on, same since the 486.
How do you purchase this?

More space than my apartment
$900aud per week.
I bought the 500 after seeing your first video… it’s awesome… I plan to drill out the HDD mounts and 3D print a jig so I can fit a 360 radiator
I have a question. Where do you end up getting it from?
Where can u get this in the US

The 4u cases always look like they'll be so tight for GPU cables, especially with the new more sensitive smaller connectors.

Looks like a great case, but... those SATA cables would drive me mad. No Mini-SAS, no deal! 😄

Mainframe in house, i like it! Thanks for sharing.
yea sadly a lot of enterprise hardware are usually gated from normal users
I wish rackmount cases that were half-width 3u were common since it'd be more space efficient than 2 2U.
Looks good. Would wanna get one if can accommodate u.2 drives
Wow awesome. I am considering rack mounted server next !
What is the day to day use case for this type of build ?
i wouldn't really call this a backplane it's more just connection at the right places (not even a pcb) (and even directly sata and not sff)
how does it look like when closed up? unless that is tempered glass?
sooo questions, as i Pref Air Cooled builds, could the fans be swapped out with a complete set of BeQuiet or Noctua fans ?
They're just regular fan mounts, any fan should fit. Looks like it comes with 120mm fans.
It's such a shame the 19" height/width restriction doesn't allow for cases like this to have 420mm radiators.
I love it. Of course I love it.
Only if the drives were front facing hot swappable
I was gonna say a 20A plug. That is crazy your standard outlets are 10A. Do yo even have 20A plugs? Or is it all in the 200V range?
We are in the 220-240V range here in Aus
Atta boy Nick 🤙 you keep putting out server content and I'll dub you " Aussie Wendell " 😏👌
Will 4090 FE fit in this case?
me want. me can not afford.
I would buy that.. myself
Link ? How much ?
9:30 “ah shit, that was the power”
A case we can't buy Even their site has no SSL.
I need this....
would that fit a 19" rack.
Yes. Every rack is 19" wide
Wtf were you doing with the thermal paste man
Exactly what you're supposed to do when you have a CPU the size of an ITX motherboard lol

Where can I buy this?
