hello Steve, great review! i have 1 question: at 1:32 you say that this tv has only one way stand, not the typical 2 way stand, does this tv has a 2 way slim stand and on which inches?
I’m not sure because I only have the one size, it might be on Sonys website
Despite being their entry-level, the 75" in-store looked pretty good compared to their higher end models. Certainly didn't look as retina-burning.

This is now unquestionably the new "go to" value TV in the marketplace. Even Sony's entry-level/foundation models are just SO much better than other lower-end models offered by their competitors. Plus, you get all that Sony quality and reliability that the company is known for. I think Sony is going to sell just an absolute TON of these TVs here in 2023!

Bought mine in December of 2023. What I could afford at this time. Wanted the 120hz model of Sony, but this will do fine. It has all of the apps that I use like TH-cam TV.

I have a Samsung Q60B 65" and a Sony X80J 55". The picture quality and the experience outsmarts the Samsung in every way. In the meantime, I don't really think they should quit doing the budget range but a lower price point is something they should definitely consider.

Vivid is the only display that I watch movies, and play video games on. It has the best and sharpest color in my opinion. But I watch tv channels on standard.
I just picked up the 50" version as it fits the current tv stand without risking the legs being too close tot he edge. I have a small apartment so the 50 works just right. I am contemplating getting the Sony receiver as my current Yamaha 5.1 receiver is fine. But thinking upgrading that just so it's more compatible with todays current audio video tech. I was having audio video sync issues and a few mentioned to turn off or lower the motion flo option.

Hi Steve, I'm a bit late in researching this and am buying a 2023 model for early 2024, so I wanted to ask: Would it be better to stick with the 77L as first choice for regular use and appreciate the quality for what it is (I use an Xbox Series X so have some concerns about the lack of HDMI2.1 etc), or get a smaller one with better features? (86L 55'' vs the 77L at 75'') I feel like going with the full array seems like slight overkill and I'm coming from only using 4k monitors in my office, have never even used a 4K TV before lol, but this model is now coming up to being replaced at some point this year obviously so now I kind of feel like I should skip this model and make the switch to the 85L for longevity. thoughts?

its shame sony didnt want release 43 and 50 inch in my country, even though their price is very agressive in big size, but not everyone has enough Space for 55inch or 75inch.
btw 75 x77L it has same price as X85K in my region and 65inch x90l haha

I wonder if this is just a slightly degraded x85k - because it had decent contrast as well. What's great about the x85k is that it had great contrast, no blooming and much better stutter than any OLED.
Unfortunately I had to return the x85k due to the fact that it had noticeable backlight bleed probably due to the lackluster VA panel. In comparison to this tv it had very crappy viewing angles. Surprisingly I prefer this tv over the x85k. The only drawback is the semi reflective panel on this tv. Doesn’t do much to prevent reflections in bright rooms.
Where did you find that skin tone test demo at? And the hdr/sdr test!

Almost every TV has a power button, I showed on the video. I’m not familiar with costco models I focus on main stream products not members clubs

For the sound bar u not sure sony soundbar connect by bluetooth so your hdmi port is not for the soundbar
Bluetooth is wireless less and can’t compare to an HDMI cable at all. Use that for headphones not home theater

@TechSteve yeah, we have x75k for now. It comes in 43,50,55 and 65 inches.
I have the Sony X89K from last year and it's a terrible TV at times. Motion and clarity really aren't that great even after trying to adjust things , lower resolution stuff on it isn't great either , and it was an £800 TV. My £300 old LG TV did say better. I don't think I'll ever buy a Sony again. I hope the newer models get better
The focus is on highend models, they just make these for people who don’t have the budget but loves the brand

@@TechSteve Crunchyroll is an Anime streaming service, and quite frankly the best one (perhaps the only one worth a damn). I'm not into Anime, but I know a number of folks who are. I do find it odd that it's on the remote though.

Sony just bought crunchy roll. So it's a nobrainer for them to add it to the remote. Also i beleave they also own funimation as well
