    Well done Rubber B. For the tiny cost of shipping a replacement strap with a smile, you've lost significant business. As a business person myself, I am appalled at how bad customer service has gotten. Unless the customer is being a complete d*ck, just do what it takes to make them happy, even better delighted. I think we can all forgive mistakes, what we cannot forgive is when the amends or handled poorly.

    • @aussieexpatwatches
      @aussieexpatwatches  ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Exactly. This would be poor service for any product. Inexcusable for a luxury priced rubber strap where we know the per unit costs are tiny. There's really no need to run a business like this other than... they want to...

    I literally cannot even believe how poorly they handled this. Funny thing is I was just getting ready to order 2 straps and thought I would check out a couple of TH-cam videos for some reviews, so glad I did! Needless to say I'll be ordering a different brand!! Thank you for taking the time and saving all of the rest of us from a huge headache and an inferior product!

    Well said. I hate shitty after market service.
    Mistakes happen and/or incompetence is frustrating - but compared to complete indifference to whether the customer got a complete product - well, I’m glad you called it out.
    Now to sharpen my own axe…
    still won’t buy from Omega for a not dissimilar issue - Seamaster diver quality issue - bought new noticed some months later that the lume is patchy. They refused to acknowledge the defect despite photos and the fact the back had never been removed. During warranty.
    Then for my quartz constellation they take 8 weeks (!) to change the battery - send it back and it’s got a date wheel in a colour that isn’t even available for that model. They did apologise (eventually) for that one though. (You get a novelty Omega pen btw. )

      You must be a very vulnerable person. You've already owned a RubberB and you were happy (same as me with mine). It means a first-hand experience with a product. Now you are claiming to never order another one because of a video from a person that you don't know and you don't even know if it's true (I am not saying it isn't) but you get my point. I am so sorry, but it is childish.

    That won't surprise me. I'll share my experience with them here. At one time I seriously considered to order one based on comments from a few watch forum. But I can't find warranty information on their website, which is weird for such a product that is supposed to be high end luxury replacement. So I emailed their customer support and ask how long the belt would last in general and if they carry any warranty. They replied there is no any guarantee: not only their have no estimate for the general life time of their products but they don't provide any warranty at all. They actually told me if they provide any warranty, people would damage the belt and get a free replacement during the warranty. I feel like 😅 and just bought on Amazon some cheap belt instead. Actually pretty satisfied with the no brand Amazon belt, which is like 10 times cheap er.

    I did end up with one for my explorer 2 and do regret it already. Not because of any damage but the topic here is far more complex. For starters, the Rolex clasp is not designed for a rubber strap. Unlike my Oris straps which thread through the clasp from both ends to give that perfectly rounded wrist hug experience. The Rolex threads only one side leaving the short or face side to pivot on the end screw of the clasp. This results in that short end hanging in more of a straight line rather than curving nicely around. That's the first stuff up. Secondly, the strap slopes straight down at the case lugs, squeezing the top of the wrist hence forcing the short end of the strap to push out at the bottom end. Those that have one fitted will understand what I'm saying. Especially those that own an oris Aquis on a rubber who are the masters of a rubber strap design, both in quality and comfort.
    Thirdly, the rubber lacks breathing space on the underneath. Next, once on, it is impossible to adjust as there is no space to fit a tool to move the spring bar to another micro adjustment unless you're a Pro. To add to the pain, you need to sweat to get the oyster off the case as it is just so difficult for the amateur to attempt. Personally it is disgusting that Rolex still roll with spring bars opposed to screw bars which even Chinese mirobrands are using these days. In short. Rubber B have been very clever in promoting a strap that is of descent quality in regards to the rubber itself. It fits the Rolex models. But is far from what the price suggests. Do yourselves a favour. Save your money. Keep it on the oyster or just get a cheap buckle style straight end rubber at the local store and it will be more comfortable. Trust this. Save your money. I have 3 Oris on rubber. 2 IWC Aquatimers on rubber. A balncpain fifty fathoms on canvas. All fit the way they should. These are an absolute disgrace in comparison. If you are hell bent on a rubber. Sell the Rolex and get something else, or try the oysterflex. It might be better.

    I disagree with this review:
    I actually bought a Rolex strap, realized after removing my steel bracelet that I had ordered the wrong strap for my model.
    Contacted them and they responded very quickly, I decided to call them as they are in Miami and I am local. They offered me several return/exchange options, including going in person to their location and have their tech replace it for me for free.
    I decided to pay them a visit. They have a lovely intimate place, the people there were amazingly candid and welcoming, and quickly performed the swap and I was out of there in less than 20 minutes.
    I understand that not everyone may have the same experience but to me they were awesome and would definitely purchase from them again.

    To be honest, the company didn't do a great job but a little chip in the strap shouldn't be an issues especially if it doesn't appear when you wear it, create discomfort or lead to cracks.

    • @aussieexpatwatches
      @aussieexpatwatches  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I agree. It's a cosmetic issue and insignificant. But at a certain price point, "perfect" is the bar.
      Simply saying they won't stand by their product and buyer beware would have at least not wasted any time and is honest.
      Instead they proceeded to blame me and a 3rd party for something (insignificant) that was clearly their responsibility.

    Was just about to order rubber B - thanks for your video, they don’t deserve any more business. Such a joke of a business - I’ve seen brands who don’t claim to be luxury, yet offer better service and product than these clowns.

    I came across your video just now reviewing @RubberB-Official to buy two rubber straps for my Explorer 2. I'm thankful because I do not tolerate horrible service from a luxury brand. $13 nato wouldn't bother me, but this does.

    It’s amazing…the cost of them to replace…maybe $50-$75…as opposed the the thousands in potential sales…showcasing their shocking and horrible customer service. IF I were the owner…I would fire and apologize …as this is clearly NOT a shipping but a QC issue..and it appears that RubberB doesn’t stand behind their products.
    Everyone who watches this vid should fwd it to RubberB

    Thanks man, was just looking for reviews of the strap (was going to order 2, for steel daytona and sub), saw how the handled that and its just a clown fiesta.
    Even if the carrier damaged the package (btw no way that dmg happened due to carrier and btw2 - super shitty packaging on their side, i had chineese pack 2$ items from alibaba way more securly) its their job to replace and seek compensation from UPS, you CAN NOT even do that, as you were not the person who ordered the shipping.
    Decided to cancel the order after seeing this video. Thanks.
