    Can two middle-aged men with no surfing experience and mediocre coordination learn how to Fliteboard?
    Watch our crash course into learning how to eFoil that is full of spills and thrills as we try to take our first flight on the Fliteboard.
    Lifelong waterman, Brian Meyer, flew out from Maryland to give us some tips on how to start Fliteboarding. Can his expertise help us start flying on day one?
    In this video, we unbox, set up, get some tips, and try to take our first flight on the Fliteboard.

    They may be $12k+ but no boat needed. No giant truck to haul said boat. No second person who hopefully knows how to pull a wakeboard. I’m sure you can strap it to most cars. 4 people riding on one battery? No filling the tank? Hells yeah! Barrier to entry is lower which means one day even I may get one.

      HALF that price 😉. Fliteboard eFoils might be $12k+ but unlike Future Motion and the Onewheel, there are multiple brands and market competition for eFoils. Prices start as low as $6k and go as high as $20k+ for brands with reputation (not something off of Alibaba)
      It's a whole new level of float life!

    Bought my Kickstarter Waydoo Flyer one for $4k and taught myself to efoil and I'm 78. The price of the board has gone up to $6K but the boards are better now. My original Waydoo is still going strong in it's 3rd year and I've since bought another one with the shorter mast and taught my daughter. The Flyer one board is made of a sealed foam that is more tolerant of impacts than carbon fibre. The board bag has wheels to make it easier to bring to the launch spot. I get over an hour on the battery but the new Flyer One+ has a more efficient propeller system that runs quieter and gives a 20% or so increase in run time. I can upgrade my boards to the new system but I find the battery life is more than adequate for me and my daughter with 2 boards. There are other boards now available in the $6K range so I can't see spending $12.5K for one.

    Plus One for the new Waydoo FLyer Plus One. Priced thousands below the big boys and the new prop upgrade is a game changer. I'm one of the original Kickstart Backers and my original is still going strong. 68 year old paddle surfer and easily learned to fly on my home lake. Now with the new prop upgrade, we are quiet, quick and very efficient. I'm currently testing out the new folding prop in the surf and new High aspect wings are on the way. Needless to say, I'm a big Waydoo fan.

  • @code96roblox

    Kind of expensive for what you’re getting. They compare pricing to a jet ski but jet skis have more power and speed not to mention how much more machine you’re getting. What are you getting with this? A battery, a motor, and a Paddleboard. In addition the $13kfigure for a jet ski is pretty misleading when a jet ski that out performs this hydrofoil can be had for around $5-6k.
    With all that said yes it is cool that you are basically flying and it is a really unique experience.

    • @Andrew-vt4jt
      @Andrew-vt4jt ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I love to jet ski but there's no experience like flying with a Fliteboard. Once you're in the air, it's near silent. When the lake is empty and it's like glass, there's no other experience like it. It's surreal!

    • @Truebillycat
      @Truebillycat ปีที่แล้ว

      Unless you are speaking about real "jet ski" stand up . These are 100 times more fun than sit-down wave runners that my 3-year-old can drive and get boring after 15min. Not to mention the petrol aspect that pollutes , limits where you can take it. Plus trailer , waiting in line to load it in and out. You can take these to areas that don't allow Motorcraft plus you can advance your skill level to do more aggressive riding. I've owned jet skis and wave runners (two different things ). While standing jet ski is a blast and takes skill . I would buy this a 1000 times over before buying either of those again.

    • @mikeb1039
      @mikeb1039 ปีที่แล้ว

      Pretty much every owner i've seen comment says the same thing: "Haven't touched the jet ski since we got the foil". My jetski has 4 hrs on it this (almost over) summer. There's actually quite a bit more to it than you're seeing. All those components are water proof on their own. The board cuts power when it reaches lean angles that say it's gonna crash. The hand throttle cuts power when it touches the water. etc
      Kinda silly to compare a used jet ski cost to a new E foil when a new jetski costs as much. ;)

      @@Andrew-vt4jt The funny part is that as soon as I saw the main board brought out with it's carrier bag I thought to myself, _aw poop, I guessed low_ . But it turned out still not too far off. :p

    You’re going to wish you bought a smaller board

      We will be reviewing a shorter board soon with the propulsion motor.

      Nothing ridiculous about it. It's easily the best PEV we've tested and reviewed. There's no other feeling like flying on the Fliteboard.

      Look at the construction and packaging. I'd say that the actual cost of the thing is pretty spot on.

      Ridiculously fun! Been taking this to the nearby reservoir almost every day since we got it. So easy to go for a quick session after work and then be home for dinner.
