if my grandmother had balls it will be my grandfather..who gives a fuck mate from the time we 90% buy them used..its all about what your moneys buys for you..there are and 300 2stroke too but they are a lot of money IF YOU FIND ANY..so again you cant beat the 450mx offer at 2500 euros for a 2009-2011 mx450..used 450 4stroke owns the market...at 2011 300cc 2stroke is 1500-2000 euro more....thats the money for 2 rebuilds in 450 and a full exhaust..thats 5-6 years easy problem free..you cant beat that..2strokes are amazing but they are money wise a lot of money for the trouble..no engine breaking because is bad..pre mix...and a lot more rebuilds...its a lot for a toy..450 goes more and now rebuilds got a lotttt cheaper very near to 2 stroke...but the new beta-sherco 300 2 stroke are fucking amazing bikes..but a lot of paper to get them
Ahh the 4 stroke would still win the 2 strokes cant pull out as fast and on concrete/blacktop you could blow up a 2 stroke so. 4 strokes are better because they can run and you can hit the rev limiter on the highway and if you went over 3 quarter of throttle your gonna need a new engine😂
Although the 450 beat the 250 to the pole and on top speed, it was a dead heat up to about 50MPH. If you pause as they go, the speed of each bike is equal second by second until both hit 50MPH then that 450 takes off and dominates.
There must be something wrong with that 250. It has the wide ratio gears too? Doesn't seem like it. 70mph is like the stock top speed of a non wide ratio yz250 lol.
@@jethro450 mines a stock yz with 14-45 gearing. But I my gps showed around 83mph with 15-45 gearing. Without a wide ratio box, seemed a little low but I'm not sure if the bike needs a tune or different pipe or if the gps app was a tad off.
The 2 stroke was at a disadvantage starting off and I’m not talking about displacement lol. The gnarly pipe kills over rev and cuts about 4-5 peak power. Very important in a drag race. Also the “x” gearing with stock final drive ratios will run into the 80’s pretty easy. Something wasn’t right there. Not saying the 450 still wouldn’t win with that monster torque curve it has but the 2t was kinda set up for failure imo. Both great bikes tho😁
Old video but just saw it. I am surprised the 250 only hit 74mph. The 1991 RM125 I had between 91’ and 93’ hit 71mph a couple times. At least according to the police officers who caught me on the back roads both times!!
So that bike has a fmf fatty on it, which actually takes away top end. It moves the power to low end. If I were to put a pro circuit on it, it would really scream on top but take away bottom end. I’m sure I could get over 80 out of it with the right pipe.
Nice video. I have had both bikes and i can say for sure the 450 has more power. It pulls with the same power through the entire range. In a drag race where the yz (stock gearing) doesn't go beyond 4th gear, the 2 stroke will match a 450. The 250 feels like a zippy little toy compared to the 450. But once you understand the power of the 250 they are rockets. Stock my yz goes high 60's. My wr transmission went low 70's with a 52 sprocket. My 450 went about the same with 2 up on the rear.

You should watch my other videos. The 450 still won because the 500 spun all over the place rather than went forward. I wanted to redo the test on asphalt cause you're right, the 500 would destroy!
Not in the near future, but it may be a second snowbike for me in the next few years. Right now it's simply my "winter" bike for the days when the snow sucks and the dirt doesn't.
@@skidstart66 I've ridden a couple. They do great. I still prefer the 450 but like everything, pros and cons. The 300 is lighter, just not quite the same power as the 450. Either way, still fun. Go for it!

I will say, on the 500 video I had tons of people bashing how I rode the 500, saying I short shifted it, didn't give it the gas, blah blah blah. The truth is, I did give it all the gas and shift through the gears as fast as I could once, but it spun so bad that it lost HARD to the 450. I didn't dare post the video of it loosing really bad for fear of the 500 lovers finding me and slitting my throat. I was doing all I could to give that bike some traction. Anyways, that's why the 450 wins that video, cause I couldn't get traction with the 500. And that's why I want to re-do the test on asphalt.... but I don't have the bike anymore. I'll find one and do it some day. The 500 would dominate though.

Problem is that your 3rd gear is taller than a x..that mean u cant get to 4th first..also your power valve settings are way off from a x..plus higher compression ratio on on your yz250..if your 450 is doin90mph..my x would easily holeshot the 450..

Whenever two riders are involved, people start questioning each rider. I like this way of doing it cause my skills don't change from one bike to the other. Either way, I'd love to drag race a true 250x. I like both bikes for what they are and where they're good, but I'm having hard time seeing the 250 win this race.
Modern 4 strokes are just better than most 2 strokes. Compare an 06 250 to a 06 450f and I bet the 250 would win. Pit a 16 250 and a 16 450 and the 450 will win.
I had an 06 Honda 450. I still think it would have won. I’d love to do the test though and find out! Go watch my latest 250 vs 450 video. That 06 250 is a sweet bike in a lot of areas. Drag races seem to get all the views but it means nothing.
This isn’t even a good comparison. They don’t have the same gearing...13/48 is long gearing compared to a 14/50. That front sprocket does alot for top speed. And a 2t difference on the rear aswell...
Bailey Hauck stock against stock... the transmission ratios are different, which makes them closer than you think. But really, you think the 2t would win even if we geared it up? 45 hp against 55? Not even. I love both bikes for different reasons and ride both all the time. I think it’s funny when folks get their panties in a wad because their favorite didn’t win.
450 4 t's are faster and puts more power down period. Even if you had a 450 two stroke it would still get smoked because you would have way less revs on the 2t. Next video electric vs 4t. I am ready for the electric revolution.

It always sounds different on video. It was full throttle the entire time. The other factor here is it has the 250x gearing. So ever shift pulls it low in the power band. Since this video I’ve done some mods and fine tuned it, it’s running really good right now. I should redo this video. Having said that, it’ll still lose to a 450. No 250 will ever beat a 450. The 450 will still win. And that's coming from a guy who likes 2-strokes! It's ok to admit defeat in a top speed run. The 250 wins in lots of other places.

Watch on moto x a rebuilt cr 500 v.s a ktm 450. The ktm still blows it out of the water. Straight line race on the beach.

one issue is traction. A 2 stroke hits the rear tire twice as often causing more slip.
The yz250x stock is supposed to hit about 86mph. This is the only one I've seen that has the wide ratio gears that doesn't.
