Incubus has to be the most underrated band of the past 25 years. Just a fantastic sound and talent.
Incubus is underrated in general lol has always been a good band

Incubus is good. They are really good live. You should check out the song Warning. One of my favorites from them.

Incubus is a good example of west coast southern California band. They all have that tell tale sound that can be noticed instantly. Great reaction
Alternative rock and grunge have a special place on the westcoast. Just like g-funk and gangsta rap. I'm on the westcoast as well and they all happen to be my favorite genres of music.

Killer BeeGees I listened to that album like a million times when I was in High School.. such talented artists.... you can tell they all work really hard and have such great talent to make such great music ... 🙌🏻 I saw them live last year Wit System of a Down ... the show was amazing... 👏🏻

It has to be metal first to be nu metal. Incubus is great but they're not metal, they're hard/alternative rock.
Vin, you missed out,and misjudged a great band. They're probably better then half the junk you listen to. Phenomenal live band, great artists, and great people to top it off. Brandons singing and the crispness of there live play is hard to even parallel. The have a lot of heavier stuff and there own sound.

Ya know, I never considered Incubus NuMetal, even though I saw them and Hed(pe) open for Korn at the tail end of the Family Values tour in ‘98 or ‘99.
I always grouped them with two other bands I really liked, and also did not consider “NuMetal,” Deftones and Glassjaw.
I guess, in the case of Incubus, it’s because I never heard them as “Metal,” even at their heaviest. It’s like that difficult challenge of trying to determine whether a band is more Post-Rock or Post-Metal-very fine line.
I have a feeling, from his story, that Vin probably never listened to any earlier Incubus. When I saw them w/ Korn they were supporting the S.C.I.E.N.C.E. album, and I recommend listening to something off that album or their even earlier one, Fungus Amongus. Even though, “Crowded Elevator,” is the song of their’s I listened to repetitively on a CD mix.
Mx. Damí Dimock to quote Finn of the Punk Rock MBA, Incubus I never considered a nu-metal band but more of a “nu-adjacent” band, because they got popular around the time the genre peaked, same with Deftones, same with Linkin Park and to an extent, same with System of a Down.
Not sure where Vin got the idea they crushed on this and nothing after. This wasn’t even the most successful single from this album.
In any case, it’s a good pick to start off Nu Metal week. “Make Yourself”, in my opinion, enjoys the rare status of being one of the few Nu Metal albums that still hold up.
Make yourself is legit the only surviving Nu Metal Album to still get radio play. People never wanna let go of Drive for some reason....
There is LInkin Park, Deftones, and Korn though...I take that back in saying the “only” lol

Deftones first album is still a beast.
Nu metal? I wouldn't classify Incubus as any kind of metal. Rock bands influenced by hip hop aren't automatically nu metal.

I think I'm about the same age as you guys ... it blows my mind that Sori has never heard of Incubus and Vin only listens to one song! Hopefully you'll check out more in the future.
When I graduated from high school (2004), I used an Incubus lyric as my senior quote in the yearbook - "Don't ever let life pass you by" from the song Warning ...
Love this band. Watched them live last year omg they topped off what I always knew. They definitely in my top 10 bands of all time.
The Warmth, Pardon Me, Stellar, Anti-Gravity, Drive, A certain shade of green, Nowhere Fast, Battlestar Scralatchtica, Echo....That is what got me hooked into them
Incubus weren't just musicians, they were a collective group of artists. No one sounded like them.

my fav Incubus song has to be Dig, but their catalogue is full off good songs like: megalomaniac, nice to know you, warning, oil and water, drive, are you in, stellar, anna molly, i miss you, wish you were here and quite a few more but those are the ones i remember.

There is a late 80's-early 90's Tampa Death Metal band, Incubus. Really only known for the lead singer doing backing vocals on Skull Full of Maggots, I think.

Ok I’ve listened to incubus since about 99 and this is the first time I’ve heard them called Nu Metal lol they’ve been one of those bands that was liked by all my friends that liked different genres kind of like the postal service
I love their first album!
Incubus was a great band . Saw them at a espresso bar in Worcester Massachusetts with like 75 people before they hit it big was a awesome show .
Science is a spectacular album. Get it! Absorb it! I would consider it a must-have for any serious music collection!

Sleeping on this band you two. Very experimental band. Hugely influential on Slipknot. Very unconventional band. Famous for complex songs with unconditional time signatures. Leaders in Merging hip hop in metal. This was one of the very first bands to do that - period. The importance of this band is way overlooked. By the time Slipknot put out their first album, Incubus was on their third. And their first two albums “Fungus Among Us” and “Science” were way ahead of their time fire. They didn’t have a scratch DJ in the band because other bands had one. Other bands were incorporating scratch because of Incubus did it first, and years before any other bands did it - including Slipknot. Just want to start settling the record straight on this very important and way under-appreciated band.
