This song isn't about suicide. It's metaphorical. It's more like "pardon me for flipping the fuck out from time to time because I hate this world and the people in it. And society." Which I can relate to.

Interesting reaction. I've never seen anyone interpret this as a pro-suicide song before. I love your reactions but I think you very much misinterpreted this one, and missed the spiritual/philosophical metaphors. This band would never promote suicide. He's not talking about literally bursting into flames. He's talking about letting out what has been bottled up, and then letting it go and rising above it. But to fully understand what this band is about, it's best to listen to their albums in full. They take you on a journey. This song is from their album entitled "Make Yourself", and they subsequently created the "Make Yourself Foundation" (a non-profit charity/ activist group). The lead singer takes a lot of inspiration from Eastern/Hindu/Buddhist philosophies and has spoken in depth about mental health issues, love, compassion, the Dharma, Buddha Nature/True Self, and transcendental meditation.
I'd recommend their songs "Dig", "Echoes" and "In the company of Wolves".

The line "Pardon me while I burn/And rise above the flames" is so important to the meaning of the song. It's about change, not death.

Not pro suicide, just that he’s so fed up with everything that he feels like exploding!

I don't interpret the song being about suicide. I think it's more in line with the fable of the Phoenix. He's going to explode and rise above the flames. In other words, stop living the petty lives of those around him and not be dragged down by their issues, and become a better person.

Not getting the pro suicide vibe at all from this song either. I think he's totally misreading this one. Like you said, the fact that it says rise above the flames seems to be a positive here.

Used this song to test stereo gear back in the day. Has all the frequencies and loved their passion and energy. You can hear it in the performance, always struck me as a deeper version of Linkin Park?

Not the interpretation i was thinking of hearing, but Brandon Boyd said that the lyrics were written about images he read about spontaneous combustion and how his inner turmoil both good and bad he felt related to that image. He also referenced that his girlfriend of 7 years had been cheating on him while he toured with the band and how he felt that he could just burst into flames once he found out about her unfaithfulness.

Based on your reaction and interests I'd highly recommend their album "if not now, when?" Incredible lyrics. Very romantic and raw.
As for Pardon Me, it is spiritual and NOT about suicide. Incubus is rather positive in their message.

To burst into flames, then rise above them reminds me of the mythical creature phoenix. It will combust into flames, be destroyed then is reborn.

Great band influenced by faith no more and red hot chili peppers. They never quite got as good as faith no more but are way better than rhcp. Their next album Morning View was amazing.
