What was originally supposed to be a no reset run turned into another new world record. Saved the most time in Forest of Illusion, lost the most in Special World. A mistake in Castle 7 prevented this from being sub-1:22:40. -- Watch live at / greendeathflavor

Oh thank God. A speed run that ISN'T the credits glitch.
EDIT: I am aware the credits glitch is the fastest way but for some reason it still doesn't feel "complete" to me. I always watched speedruns through various games from start to finish with the only skips being the ones that are necessary.
Phoenix Destiny u know that all the glitches they use in speedruning this game takes monthes to master. Its not the credit to glitches.

@@ssszss4125 I think what the op means is a run where he can watch the game being played as opposed to skipped over. It's legitimate but I see a lot of people say otherwise for what they consider unfun to watch (which of course isn't the case).

i used to play this game when i was younger, never knew any of these tricks they're amazing!
I knew some of them. But definitely didn't know about going under the screen to skip parts. 😯 Also knew that the quickest way to complete it was fill up the outlined boxes and get star world open as quickly as possible.

Cheese bridge, cookie mountain, forest secret area, and chocolate secret area (has “1” in Japan)
Funky has 9 green berries. Japanese version is 1/3 of the green berries.
Donut plains 2 has added yellow ! block in the international.
3 1ups are added below the goal orb in the international.
The timer in Lemmy’s Castle added an extra 100 seconds in the international.
L and R allows castle access after completing a castle level.
Dolphins are edible, fixed in other countries.

It’s a duplication glitch. It does different things in different spots but it’s difficult to pull off in some stages.

By doing certain movements in the game, you can inject a script for the game to follow. He basically told the game to spawn a boss, killed it, then the level cleared after that

Hey can someone answer something for me? Doesn’t it slow you down by getting coins? Because it takes longer to tally at the end?
This is Super Mario Warld on SNES, it doesn't countdown coins after each stage.
Why are you playing the Super Famicom Japanese version when the game was released in English for the Super Nintendo?
the japanese version is faster because of the words loads faster
@@deco90014 yes there’s less text when it comes to Japanese vs. English, this is why you see runners using the Japanese version for many different game runs.
I did a complete walkthrough for the first time since I was in grade school. Took me two weeks and I just did it here and there and didn’t rush through it. Did every exit besides the secret exit in the last ghost house that I completely forgot about until this video

you don’t lose the cape if you are flying, if that’s what you are referring to
i played this game alot and i never saw that upper area in the world 3 fire level , or some of the bonus sections

Tyler Vincent it’s not on purpose this game was released years before the SNES version so they would have fixed glitches on that port

I am looking for fanatics, nay, obsessives of Super Mario World for Super Nintendo.
I am looking for those who have completed the game with its 96 levels , or rather 96 releases.
I am appealing to those who are part of this inner circle.
Have you ever noticed that the levels with 2 exits are the levels with the red flashing light instead of yellow?
And that each ghost house has its second secret exit?
Here's a question for you at this point: 100% of the game corresponds to 96 levels/exits... the thing is quite strange, that is, that it is not 100 levels/exits.
But the ghost house in world 6 has no secret exit!!!
I will tell you more: the secret castle of world 5, at one point has a part where the lava on the ground would seem endless, but I am sure that by flying with the cape for a long time you can reach a second exit.
By finding the 2 exits in these 2 levels, it would be another 2 percentage points, and another 2 percentage points would be obtained from the 2 hypothetical levels that would appear afterwards.
So 100!!!
Had anyone ever thought of this?
I am looking for people who want to explore this further.

Our sum of best is under 1:22, and if anyone decided to go for everything in a run, including a clip in Forest House, and get it all then 1:21 may very well be possible.

Do the two fireballs count as hits at 11:27 to allow you to just jump on him once to kill him? Is it just because of timing??
In SMW, hits from fireballs counts towards the three stomps needed to kill him for some reason.

He still had peak speed so he flew. He did not touch the koopa.
When he "creates" the wing blocks, is that an item glitch where it creates that block because it gets "confused", essentially, by the shell inside of the other block?

You could have went to star world after unlocking the secret area above that ghost house at the beginning. Played 3 star levels, and been to the last castle.

They don't, but you still need to beat the game for the run to count.

Once you open all the exits on Mario world you get a little star in front of the number. It's been a long time but I that's it's like star 96. But if the star isn't there then there's still unfound exits.

Cheating
It's a mechanism with the cape and yoshi. Basically you "fly" like with the cape but you sit on yoshi
peak speed is kept a little after the first jump so you can follow it with another jump hold to fly

The cape is such a bad game design... Why would the game developers want you to be able to skip / fly by half of the levels? No cheats, no glitches required, just pressing a button while holding right...
