Its my favorite location because it gave me the most amount of fear in the game the first time I visited it, and the second time I visited it made me feel really uncomfortable/hopeless because it felt like a really windy maze with no goal in sight.
What's cool about Yahargul is that the two different times you go there, the vibe is entirely different. The way you play is different. Pre-Blood Moon, it's eerie, mysterious, spoopy and feels like a place your not supposed to be. Yet, this feeling with how dark it is and everything, makes you want to slowly explore and slowly and safely check this place out, careful of every step. And Blood Moon Phase, the place is the opposite. It's stressful, anxiety filled and pushes you to want to move through the place quickly. Enemies are everywhere, danger is at every corner. You have Amygdalas everywhere you go trying to stop you, bell-maiden enabled enemies everywhere, and you need to get through quick to kill the maidens. You are just pushed to move fast and keep moving so everything doesn't close in on you. It's wild just how different the two phases are in Yahargul.
It is actually a Mensis scholar cultists singing the choir, a ritual to invoke an infant Great one Mergo. You can hear the sound bit muffled inside where the Hypogean gaol lamp is, but once you get outside, you get to hear it more clearly and the closer to the gate leading later to the One Reborn you are, the louder the singing gets. They have succeeded but not the way they had intended as all of those scholars are dead once you kill Rom. Every snatcher and all those previous enemies are dead and are now replaced by abominations, horrible creatures made by combined bodies. The One Reborn is actually a horde of mensis scholars just mashed together by experiment which has gone extremely wrong.
This is one of my favorite areas cause it feels like where the whole theming turns on it’s head. Amygdala’s everywhere, and you’re in a place you’ve been before. But it’s freaky. Corpses reanimating in front of your eyes, Frankenstein esque werewolf creatures, creatures made of limbs being sown together into hideous monsters. The dustier and older looking town, a massive skeletal beast that has lightning powers, and good lord that music is dreadful. Also the faces of those bell women is so creepy, they remind me of how Jason looks after he gets reanimated but there’s a bunch of these women just standing there with bells. Freaky.
When I first died after getting to the bottom of the oden chapel tower I turned around to talk to my girlfriend because I was mad and suddenly I realized that something else very odd was going on. Some how luckily enough I got killed by a snatcher and was sent to Yargul for the first time and I was terrified.
I haven't played through Bloodborne in a good bit but the old hunters workshop has always stuck with me especially in regards to the contrast of gehrman and the hunter's dream. A place replicated so gehrman can hold onto his past in some fashion. Add onto being trapped within the hunters dream, makes it quite tragic. From definitely have some of the best area designs in the industry, especially in regards to how much story they convey and the detail they pack into each area is something to truly appreciate
My Favorite Places in Bloodborne are The Fishing Hamlet, Hemwick Charnel Lane, Central Yharnam & Nightmare of Mensis/Mergo's Loft!!!! I mostly love Central Yharnam & Nightmare of Mensis/Mergo's Loft!!!! These 2 Places(Central Yharnam & Nightmare of Mensis/Mergo's Loft make me feel so much in peace, comfort, serenity, wonder & solitude & especially sweet sadness & gothic romantic melancholy!!!!
For some reason i DESPISED this area (bloodmoon) I stop playing the game cuz of how much it sucked but i thankfully ran/skipped everything and i enjoyed the game
My favorite place in BB is the nightmare of mensis. The reason why is because for me it feels like the most unique area in the whole game. It has many unique and exclusive enemies that only exist within it.
The nightmare realm itself is my my favorite. I love the old haunted Castlevania feel of Nightmare of Mensis (also shared with Cainhurst), the crazy and delusional feeling of the Nightmare Frontier, the loneliness of The Fishing Hamlet, and the messed up scenery and lore of the Research Hall and Hunter’s Nightmare. I also love how it’s layered on top of each other
This was kind of a weird experience for me, I never died to a sack man so I never got sent to Gaol. I had just beat Rom and then got sent to that little fountain near the cathedral. Went down the steps and ended up there. I'm still on my first playthrough and stuck big time on the three hunters. It scared me more I think because I was absolutely dumbfounded at how hard and freaky everything was. Very interesting part of the game
Hey! I loved making this video, simply because BLOODBORNE is one of my favourite games. Please hit the like button if you enjoyed it - one simple action helps the channel grow! Thanks!
I just started Bloodborne and came to Yahar'Gul for the first time after beating 4 bosses. It feels like a testament to this game's great level design and pacing. Just when you think you are getting to know how this game works, it throws another weird layer at you. I am very excited for what's next.
I personally love the Nightmare of Mensis/Mergo’s Loft, it’s tough but the chain of progression and how much there is to explore is so satisfying, plus I love the castle type feel I get from it, much better than Cainhurst imo. I also love the Cathedral Ward, it’s simply amazing. But the unseen village is a fascinating area nonetheless
According to Miyazaki, the note saying "Behold! A Paleblood sky!" was intentionally made to be readable at any point in the game so players would realize that killing Rom didn't make the world alien, Rom was just concealing how alien it already was.
The first time I encountered a Snatcher, I was so taken off guard that I sat there, staring at my screen as this man donkey kicked me in the face, then smashed me into the ground with his sack full of...who knows. I call the Snatchers by a not-so-pet-name; Sack of Ivory Soap. Because with how much fucking health they take when using it, it has to be similar to someone hauling around a sack full of soap bars, like you see used in prison beatings and such.
Yeah at first I hated this area with a passion much like Blighttown at first. But once I can power through most of it it's the most beautiful are in the game.
There's chalice dungeons if u want more of bloodborne, they added it to the game because they never intended a sequel. Do u want them to come out with a new game every year like Madden or Call of Duty?
I can easy say if X person hate some area in SoulsBorne game it means he just have a really bad time with it due his poor skill, build, weapons, lack of patience, lack of awareness, rushing thru or/and inability to fight enemies/bosses in said area.
Yes, that's generally why I don't like the area. I'm not blaming design. I blame myself. Still don't like it. And personally, I don't care for the re-use of art assets in Yahar'Gul. Just a personal aesthetic preference.
ThIs area was one kf the coolest and most frightening and the enemies that are the same mostly yet so different thrown together by body parts bones and exposed muscle tissue, and bell variants and all kinds of rooms and short cuts to discover
The One Reborn has a large connection to DS2's The Rotten. They both are a collection of bodies, this isn't new and other creatures follow that setup but both The Rotten and The One Reborn have a single human sized body/skeleton that stands out of it's body mass and telegraphs/controls the movement of the collection of bodies. Reborn it's on its left shoulder and Uno Reborno it on the top of the head/back of the neck area. The lore significance of the single man having control over the group is lost on me but its a odd thing to add for it to be meaningless.
Blighttown is a Mire enclosed between multiple gargantuan Mounds, right next to two Undead Civilizations: the New Londo Ruins and the unnamed Village visible from Firelink Shrine, were it´s inhabitants, disfigured and malformed have to live in fear of poison pestilence on their wooden rafters, the ever watching and unkind Gods above and the venomous mire below, packed with the offspring of the great chaos spider, crawling out of her den It´s a place for the outcast, the unwanted, who were left to rot in a place right in the middle of Lordrans great walls were the gods could keep an eye on them Yahar`Gul is an isolated part of Yharnam and probably the place were the School of Mensis took Residence in search of the Kosmos, and when the red Moon hangs low, the waking and the dreaming world as a result of the Schools Ritual blurs in Yahar´Gul leading to Phenomenons one could have never imagined seeing in the waking world There are no other places that give such a good example of the horror and Dread of these games as For the Iron Keep, I agree that was clusterfuck
In this game I feel like it could also be the nightmare if you don’t bother with that I’d def sayvtge forrest maze of snakes is more like blight town cuz after you manage that maze your truly in for a mind f*c!
Its my favorite location because it gave me the most amount of fear in the game the first time I visited it, and the second time I visited it made me feel really uncomfortable/hopeless because it felt like a really windy maze with no goal in sight.

Absolutely loved this area especially the hypogean gaol music is awesome and oh my god the gaol to unseen village is crazy

behold a paleblood sky!
Raiuri Ramos BEHOLD!
Madmen toil surreptitiously in rituals to beckon the moon, uncover their secrets . .

Not sure it’s my favourite but central yarnham is by far the best opening area of a game for me.. sucked me in and made me carry on battling through
I liked it too!
I was terrified when I woke up and found myself in this scary area😰
When I first died after getting to the bottom of the oden chapel tower I turned around to talk to my girlfriend because I was mad and suddenly I realized that something else very odd was going on. Some how luckily enough I got killed by a snatcher and was sent to Yargul for the first time and I was terrified.
before I watched this I was thinking "damn I hate this place", but after I realize now that this area is the cherished cornerstone of the game

My favourite place was nightmare frontier. It was just so different in terms of design and palette
I found it ugly
@@twoshu8940 i found it comfy

Honestly this place made the game for me. For the first time....I was scared....and I loved it.
Yahar'gul, unseen village, best architecture design map in the game, my opinion, second nightmare of mensis, them yarhnam
The one reborn been doing that grafting...

I like the nightmare realm and fishing village myself. But honestly I love the whole game. Hope we get a sequel on PS5

This place scared the shit out of me
When you see the bodies on the walls smh shit was crazy
I love this area I agree it is a great area. my favourite is the fishing village in the dlc, the atmosphere is so dark a and tragic.
Anyway yeas definitely one of the first areas that gave me the creeps and the amidgala shooting the lazer, one of the wtf moments indeed
Commenting before watching: Oh boy, this is gonna be a hard sell. I dread this fucking area every playthrough.
Haha, that's partly why I made the video! The fact that almost everyone dreads it is pretty awesome.

ThIs area was one kf the coolest and most frightening and the enemies that are the same mostly yet so different thrown together by body parts bones and exposed muscle tissue, and bell variants and all kinds of rooms and short cuts to discover
What is the music that plays from 4:00-5:30?
I know I've heard it before, and it's driving me crazy that I can't remember where.
I know, right??
I wanna say it's from Mass Effect, but I could be wrong
lemmino uses it alot, maybe check out there, he credits all musics he uses
forbbidin woods
I was in love with the game, came here and hated this zone and fell in love with it again afterwards, so I don’t really share your view

My favorite area is the Research Hall.
My favourite area is cainhurst
I think we can compare DS1 and 3 to Bloodborne, but 2 really had nothing to do with any of those.
I like Hunters Nightmare or Cainhurst
It's my favorite main game area. The research hall beat it though in the dlc
Love this video. There's not enough Hypogean content out there
My fav location is cainhurst 🙃
frankensteintown
What do you call the precipice? The area, that you state"once you master, you can beat the game."
If you're referring to Dark Souls 1, that's Blighttown that I mention!
Mr Nerdista no, i mean the terminology, ex: maturity. Im sorry, im having a hard time explaining what i mean. 😓
