I am never going back to the old way! I am so happy to have finally achieved perfect lights. Here's the exact lights I used: geni.us/HAtrNHU - I've also collected all of my special, unique ornament finds in this Pinterest board, follow to see new finds as I add them! pin.it/3wHKIoynC
When growing up, my mother was a light perfectionist. She didn't however put lights on herself. She gave us all instruction. Because of that experience, I became a light nazi too.....BUT I knew how to do it and that was before "icicle" lights. You methoed hits the nail on the head......Merry Christmas
I am ripping down my the crappy lights my husband always does on our tree (no offense to him, he does best, and he doesn't think it's very nice looking either), buying icicle lights, and redoing myself asap!!! This new way you've shown us will be amazing on my nature /sort of fairy like tree this year! The way you've shown looks like a magical forest full of fairies to me. I have a thin berry garland, feathered bird clips, sparkling handmade snowflake ornaments, red and white mushroom ornaments, and a dozen small and dozen med sized antiqued balls. Once I do this light scheme and add all my other decor, I think my whole family will cry when we have to take the tree down "next year".😂 I'm SO excited, and SO appreciative to you for this! I watched and read so many things about how "professionals" string lights, and the right or best ways to do it, and yours is the 1st truly beautiful way I've seen; also totally unique!!! Xoxoxoxoxoxo
I think you could get away with it but might have to skip a few branches, maybe if you don’t do it around the back branches it could work! Ideally I’d go a size up for length to have enough for 8ft tree. I didn’t use any other lights!
I've always started from the top, never thought about starting from the bottom. Does it make a difference? Thank you for the "tentacle method" I will definitely be adopting this🌲
That’s funny, I never thought to start at the top! think I start at the bottom because I’m short and can’t reach at the top so I’d rather do that part last when I have a smaller bunch of unused lights in my hand 😅
I’m glad you like it! I’m quite fussy with trees and like it when they are not too busy but not to sparse. And somewhat natural looking. So happy with this one!
Lovely video! The second method looks good! I'm not sure I'd have the patience to arrange each tentacle precisely though; I'm a bit of a light perfectionist. Also I have pets who sometimes get close enough to the tree where they might knock off the tentacles over and over. I did LOL when you tossed the lights on the first tree, ala the original method. If the lights are just randomly tossed on and you don't bother with placing correctly then yes, it will look like that :) That's how the hubby used to do it til I finally said 'enough - you are banished from light duty forevermore!' 😅
Here's the link to exact ones I bought, the brand is called ansio. amzn.to/40Mq9Gx it does look like there are a lot of similar ones on amazon, just make sure you get them with green wire!! :)
I can’t find anywhere that sells the green cable lights😭 that aren’t super expensive anyway! The link you kindly gave sadly doesn’t work, love this idea so much though!
It seems green cables are hard to come by! Glad I got mine when I had the chance. I did find another one which is battery operated so a little cheaper! You want to check the length first though to make sure it’s enough for your tree size: geni.us/nEzbeYk
I wish I got this video before I bought 20 boxes of lights. My big tree swallows lights so I have to put double the strands. This might would work next year.
@phoebedoeseverything sell to who..what person is going to pay enough for the time it's worth to buy used Christmas lights. I think you have to much time on your hands
@@bacsigabe29 this video was kindly put together to make our lives a little easier decorating our trees. We should all be thankful for that. When ideas are thought about, it is very time consuming to get the process just right. I would say just be thankful ☺️

I have a feeling I will be passing on a similar experience to my children 😅 once you’ve achieved perfection it’s hard to accept anything less 🙌🏼💕🎄
Id hate to see you turn into a heavy nazi!
What brilliant idea! Thanks for sharing and I will definitely do this method next year
I’m glad it inspired you! 😊
I say! Thank you Phoebes, most splendid/ correct.😁
Thank you! 🥰
Wish I saw this earlier as I’ve already decorated my 🌲
But I will do this next year for sure!🫶🏼
When you set it up next year you can take a photo and compare the difference! It’s amazing to see how much brighter it is!

Good luck! You will be so happy when it’s done, it makes such a difference and just really does work so well 💕💕💕
Will the 56 ft be enough for a 8 ft tree? And do you other lights on with the icicle lights?

I didn’t use any other lights!
Very innovative approach!
Thanks 🥰
Girl no. You had me putting lights on my tree for hours. This tree is staying up until 2045. No ma’am 😂
😂 I hope they at least look perfect?! ✨

Thanks so much for this tutorial! I'll have to try this method out this year! Really excited to see how it turns out!
I am glad I inspired you! I hope it turns out well, it’s easier than I expected, just a case of calm consistency! I believe in you ✨💕
You're a genius 💡🎄 what a brilliant idea.
Thank you!! 🤩
This is absolutely brilliant! Definitely trying it this year ❤
I’m glad you liked it! I’m sure yours will look beautiful 💕✨
Love this!! Going to try it out on our tree 🌲 Thanks for sharing😊
I’m glad you liked it, good luck with trying it out on your tree! ✨
Great idea. I think I'll give this a try. I love the berries too. Thanks for sharing.
I am sure it will turn out beautifully!
Good tree lit up. Thanks!

The struggles of being a light perfectionist!! 😂
Awesome tips for tree lighting! Another cool way to make your tree perfect using my Nanoleaf holiday string lights.
I’m glad you liked it 😊
Where do you purchase the lights?
Here's the link! geni.us/HAtrNHU
Omg, genious!
😇
Omg! You deserve a PhD for this!
😅 a Christmas PhD!!
I can't find your exact lights...what is the brand... The link just takes you to the light section on Amazon, not the specific lights.

They only sell it in the uk
Genius!

This is helpful.
I’m so glad!
So for a seven foot tree you used one strand of 56 lights?
One 56ft length of icicle lights ✅
Tinsel is now so passe! :-D
😝
Hm, using tentacle lights and red berries like that sounds good. I may try that.
I’m sure it will look beautiful! 🤩
Ok. Now im buying the tentacle type of xmas light.
It will change your life! I’m never going back!
That’s genius!
😇

Oh that’s such a shame! On the plus side you can probably buy some on sale in January and be all set for next year! 👏🏼
I accidentally bought icicle lights...and then found this video 😊
It’s a sign from the universe! That worked out perfectly 😄
The music in the background is so distracting!
🫣 bit late now
Thank you for this video.. cute video. happy Christmas. Don't forget the reason for Christmas.. Lord Jesus Christ ❤
Happy Christmas to you too!
So spend more money to buy more lights
Then you won’t need any more! You can sell your old ones 😎
