I don’t know how really low cost this was. The ornaments she used looked expensive, other than the Dollar tree berries. The tree was absolutely beautiful, but I’m looking for ideas for those who only have a few dollars, because let’s face it, families would rather use their money for toys for the children. I need to see more dollar tree ideas. Not that it takes from this very gorgeous tree she created.
@@maryannkom299 Hi MaryAnn, thank you so much for your comment! Expensive or cheap are very relative definitions, I agree. In total, I spent about $150 on all the decorations, not counting the lights and flock. Next year I will try to come up with something based on your suggestions!💖
She literally thought of, and shared every single detail that may come up in this project. Oh scientific. But the end result is so beautiful and artistic.
I bought a pink to white ombre tree last year, and just put it up this year. I put a beautiful rose gold beaded wire around it, which is very dainty. I also put soft white lights and white tinsel garland on it. Then I put a variety of pink and rose gold ornaments on it. Some of them are clear, and have beads, glitter, or ribbon inside them. I added special ornaments, like animal or doll figures dressed in pink, handmade ribbon tassels, and a few glittery pink ornaments like a feather and a bird cage. Then I topped it all with a big lacy white plastic poinsettia flower on the top and several sizes of pink glitter snowflakes sprinkled around the tree. I have pink gnomes, nutcrackers, and other pink decor in the room with it. I love making my Christmas trees look completely different every year. I have 5 which I put in several rooms. Each one is in different colors, but I won't go into detail on the others, since this is getting really long! I loved seeing your beautiful tree! ❄️ ❤️ ❄️
I don’t have the words to describe how gifted this young lady is. Wow!!! What an amazing transformation. Truly exquisite taste. This couldn’t have turned out any more beautiful. I love this!! ❤️❤️❤️
you posted this 1 year ago but it still holds true. purge the old stuff and minimize the new. Your tree is beautiful but what I like most is you! You are precise, intelligent and a joy to listen too. And whoever said you should have a show on HGTV is correct. you are top quality and content... I cant wait to try your pinecones!!!!!
For many decades I've had a large tree and decorated it basically the same every year. This year I decided to downsize. I bought a smaller tree at a thrift store. All through my childhood, I wanted a flocked tree so I flocked it. I wish I would have seen your video first. I didn't think of making the branches lean downward. That was brilliant. Your tree is beautiful. It kinda did a similar thing. I always used maroon and gold before. I went with white, cream and a little gold. I love it.
Holy moly! That is the most gorgeous tree I've ever seen. Absolutely BEAUTIFUL!! My dream tree! Every stage was breathtaking until it turned into a masterpiece! WOW!
I am beyond impressed how you turned an old, not the best quality tree, into a phenomenal showstopper. That flocking really transforms a Christmas tree. And thank you for showing us how to do that.
Absolutely beautiful you did a wonderful job on this tree !! This year (2023) I’m doin the flock tree with a light teal and yellow because my living room is beige and teal with a focal point of yellow. I will be “diying” some large bulbs spray painting them teal !
This was a seriously amazing transformation! The flock really did add so much volume to an otherwise thin tree and your color palette made it so magical. You are incredibly talented!
MAGNIFICANT! Not only is this young lady beautiful, the tree!! I could cry it's so gorgeous. The color palette was so complimentary; the mesh ribbon alone was so elegant. I'm so dumbstruck at how an inexpensive tree was turned into a masterpiece! I'm not sure I would take it down after Christmas. Just taking the time to spread out all the branches on the bare tree made such a difference and flocking it gave it such a voluminous texture. Adding the rest of the lights and decorations brought this Christmas tree to another level of lux beauty. Wish I could reach into the screen and take it. You now have me as a new follower!
I used dollar tree ‘garland ties’ to help fill out my 4 foot tall, old, sparse tree. I also love putting white and red poinsettias deep in the tree. I love your collar base. I may have to do something like that.
I’ve been using my 4.5 foot cashmere pine for 20 years now. I decided to retire it this year and bought a 4.5 flocked beauty. I’ll pass my other tree onto a a family who can’t afford one next year.
It's a very impressive transformation. You now have a one of a kind custom tree. You must have spent ten times what a basic tree like that costs on the lights and decor.
Wow, you did an amazing job! I hate how sparse my old tree is but you've inspired me to try and give it a makeover this year. I especially love the flocking!
Wow! Who knew you could take such a basic tree and give it a glow-up that rivals any trees in Macy's windows. It looks gorgeous and will certainly delight you and your loved ones all holiday season long. 😍🎄🥰😲
Your tree is beautiful. Your attention to detail makes it easy to understand the steps you took. Your instructions were easy to understand and follow. I also have a "cheap" tree from Walmart. It is a 6 foot slim flocked. Unfortunately, the flocking was not heavy. Maybe next year I will flock my tree. I live in a tiny 450sqft apartment and this tree fits perfectly. I add the clear/white tinsel Garland towards the inside of the tree. It makes the tree glow and helps to conceal the holes. To make it look more snow like I am using faux fur ribbon from Michael's. It is a low pile faux fur. I also have to use wires fir the ribbon which is a challenge, but I am getting it done. My theme is snow, red and white, with a lot of critters. I am also adding different shades of pink since I love pink. Thanks for all the helpful hints.
Hi Cathy, thank you so much for your kind words and for sharing about your Christmas tree and tips you used. I love combination of white and red, and I'm sure that you made your slim Christmas Tree look absolutely beautiful🎄😍 Happy Holidays😘🥂
The transformation from green to gorgeous is so impressive. Everything being carefully coordinated makes the tree stunning! I appreciate your tree decorating tips, as well as your creative talents
What a beautiful tree and an incredible transformation. Writing this on 11/20/22, very impressed with the work you put in to transform the sad old little Walmart tree to a gorgeous Cinderella! I really like how you didn't totally overwhelm the tree by covering every bit of the branches under tons of ribbon, picks and ornaments, I think you achieved the perfect balance.
This tree is absolutely STUNNINGLY GORGEOUS!!!!!!! So many things I truly LOVE about this video. The colors you used are perfect. OMG I so want to do my own like this.
I'm so impressed and inspired! I have a similar scraggly old five-foot tree that I want to fix this year. Thank you for sharing such detailed information. You're talented!!

I'm so glad I found this video of yours. Last year I bought nearly all of these materials hoping to achieve a great look with just a fuzzy notion of what to do..At best it turned out ok but what a let down. You design is exactly what I had hoped for and you've given me the how to do it. THANK YOU SO MUCH!
I absolutely enjoyed this video! Everything from your beautiful narrative to the tips was a 10/10! I look forward to subscribing and incorporating some techniques on my own flimsy tree. Thank you!
Thanks for posting this video. Following your example, I flocked an unpromising 6-ft. tree from Target this year ($30 on sale), and it was utterly transformed!
WOW! I think I have the same little tree in a box. Now I know what to do with it. I'll use the dusty mauve bulbs and poinsettias to make it a little more victorian shabby chic. Thank you for your amazing inspiration ❤️ 🎄🧑🎄
Omgosh. I just found your channel, and this transformation is beautiful!! Even the way you filmed each shot shows your attention to detail. Also, I can see that you have such patience! Replacing each light would make me crazy😆, so for those like me it may be a good idea to find some friends to help w/that part, or maybe remove the existing colored light strand and string a new set of clear lights. I think they're about the same cost as replacement bulbs, if you get them at discount stores. I learned so much. I never heard of the floor cover you used, but it's perfect and makes me excited bcuz I can flock w/hardly no mess. I love the way you styled the ribbon on your tree. It is exactly the effect I have tried to get, but before your video I could not seem to do it well. I am very inspired! Thank you so much!
That came out beautiful. And for the first time of decorating in 30 years,Im straying from red green and gold, which has been my go to. this year I am doing bright blue, teal, silver, and white. Usually I spaced the ornaments out on my tree, this year I’m gonna pack it full kind of like you did with your tree. Merry Christmas 2023 everybody
I went shopping lately, and found that I really like fake plastic trees for inside Apts and houses. I am starting to think that this is the way it should have been from the start, so that we didn't ruin all those centuries of trees. I like living Christmas trees outside, decorated. They always are fresh every year, and it saves the environment. I love yur tree. I am going to start a fake tree tradition in my family for Christmas. One decorator I watched, used fake plastic flowers, and it was so pretty. Have a good holiday, and thanks for sharing.
A hack I've found for stringing lights is to loop the lights back and forth across the 3/4 of the tree that will be visible, rather than winding them around the whole circumference. It's much easier to visualize and adjust the placement of the lights, and most importantly maximizes the amount of light you'll be able to see and actually enjoy. The wall behind the tree doesn't need to be lit. ;)
I am blown away with what you did! When I saw the thumbnail I thought that tree was going to cost a fortune! Then I saw the materials you used and was amazed how creative you are. Well done!
Stunning. I gave my large flocked tree to my daughter and she gave me her tree (much like you have in this video). Definitely trying this for my tree this year.
This looks absolutely stunning! Thanks for sharing your process, it looks so fun. Whenever I decide to get a tree in the future I will think of you and this video. Happy holidays 🎉
Yes, this was absolutely amazing, The only problem I have is The Flocking can be Very Hazardous and deadly to Cats. Unfortunately I know because my neighbor and Bff had 2 very healthy cats age 6 and 7 . She flocked her tree outside, brought it in and next day she found her babies deceased under her tree. She took to the vet and they told her how dangerous the Flocking can be . 😭
Omg Melissa, what a sad and heartbreaking story!😿 Thanks for bringing this to everyone's attention! Based on my previous reserch I found out that this flock is made from cellulose, a derivative of wood and water, and according to the ASPCA it's not toxic. But of course it can cause an obstruction or even death if the cat eats enough. But honestly I wasn't really worried because my cat doesn't show any interest in Christmas trees, home decor, etc. and never eats anything other than her own food. But if it were different, I would definitely be much more serious about using it. Thanks again for sharing!
@@shemika-x1h personally, I have seen two different people do it spring and spring clean powder, and also with a spray can and both of them look like they turned out really well
So I looked into this, and apparently the flock has wheat, and I think corn gluten anyway in and of itself. It is not toxic to animals however, if they get too much of that, they can develop an intestinal or other type of blockage, which, if not taken care of, worst possible surgery could result in their death. I read quite a few different articles from different veterinarians, and they all said the same thing
I'm with you about a soft twinkle as it is so soothing and does not trigger s migraine! I found lights at Lowe's for about $20 ...looks beautiful on my tree and outdoor staircase...oh, same colors on my main tree
This is amazing, simply impeccable 🔥 I love decorating my Christmas tree every year. This year I have a 7.5 flocked tree in rose gold, white and champagne. I'm debating putting up another one in different colors in another room. Thank you for sharing ❤
Love the flocking for an old tree . I have two in my attic and m thinking about getting another one so I can flock one for entry and two for on sides of front door . I have some old ever green garland and am going to flock that to go with trees . Can not wait . Thank you for such a great idea !
One of the best decorating videos I’ve seen!! I’ll use her suggestions and create a better tree this season. Love the economy, the creativity and the great taste she demonstrates. Enjoyed immensely.
I have the same issue. I have a tree the same size. I add so much greenery and garland to fill in. I love the twinkle lights and flocking. It looks like a magazine designer tree!!!!
2 yrs late but: *standing ovation* you absolutely won at this.

Holy crap, that is terrible! Thank you for sharing this. I was going to buy some, but definitely going to do some more research.
So can you is use the can spray to get the same look verses the powder?
@@shemika-x1h personally, I have seen two different people do it spring and spring clean powder, and also with a spray can and both of them look like they turned out really well
So I looked into this, and apparently the flock has wheat, and I think corn gluten anyway in and of itself. It is not toxic to animals however, if they get too much of that, they can develop an intestinal or other type of blockage, which, if not taken care of, worst possible surgery could result in their death.
I read quite a few different articles from different veterinarians, and they all said the same thing
Wow you did a FABULOUS job! One of the prettiest trees I've seen!
Thank you so much!🙏🏼💖
I'm with you about a soft twinkle as it is so soothing and does not trigger s migraine! I found lights at Lowe's for about $20 ...looks beautiful on my tree and outdoor staircase...oh, same colors on my main tree
