I reckon I'll splice this line with the 2018-2020 line. As much as I appreciate the callback to the sand green roofs, I prefer the grey ones for accuracy. At least they made it easy to customise in that sense, with the removable sections.

To be perfectly honest, between Professor Sinistra and Susan Bones, I'm really glad that minor HP characters are getting some love by having their own minifigures. Personally, I think it would've just made more sense to have Penelope Clearwater in the set instead of Luna (a different Ravenclaw student, as well as being book accurate).

While I understand your complaints about the size of the chamber, the 2002 set was only the chamber of secrets and a small bathroom. No great hall, no Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom, and no astronomy tower. There was no possible way for this set to have as alaberate a chamber of secrets without loosing a lot, or significantly increasing the price of the set. Also the top tower part is removable so the telescope will work.
If you look closely at the top of the DADA classroom tower on the instruction cover image, there is a typo where it’s missing a piece right before the top piece.
I love those ninjago snake head pieces, also I would’ve either cut that egrest hall from this set and lower the price point, or create more space for the actual chamber.
I feel betrayed with these new sets. After buying the complete 2018-20 hogwarts i was upset I can't combine the new sets. I've decided to buy the cheaper sets and change the roof color to make it fit.
I really enjoyed this set and I love adding on new sections to the Castle. I need the three sets released this year still but I have an idea of how I want the Castle to look in the end.
I still don't understand why they didn't go with just a chamber of secrets sets, instead of rebooting the Great Hall. It would have meant having a bigger chamber of secrets. They could also have made sure that we could stack the 2018 Great Hall on top of it
Just got this on warehouse deal on Amazon. The back of the box was mangled and covered in white tape, but the front and sides are flawless, and the box itself is still well structured. Alll pieces included and sealed, booklet still in cardboard sleeve and perfect condition, got it like 60$ canadian off. Paid 100$ canadian total
I'm surprised they included sinestra, I pretty sure that she doesn't even appear in the movie. And yes, I am aware that lego doesn't always stick to the movies.
I'm about to complete my first build today, I think, two bags left. Hogwarts Great Hall, really enjoyed building it, definitely getting more, I wasn't collecting 20 years ago so I've got no nostalgic connection to this Green roof set, and prefer the look of the slightly older sets, I won't be getting the new ones. Wouldn't mind the mini figures though, but as a new collector I've been shocked at some of the prices the figures sell for, I collect things like 6 inch star wars black series and marvel legends figures, some of them are cheaper than the Lego figures! I honestly think it's crazy.
This does not feel like it should be 130. It barley seems bigger than the great hall set from 2018 which is 40 bucks less. And that one was also a little over priced but idk, maybe this one is bigger in person. Either way, I feel the old 2018 great hall is far superior.

Really wish they wouldn't have added a great hall and just went all out on the chamber of secrets. sometimes I don't get lego, like we just got a great hall! I think a missed opportunity here. I will say I love the little details and what little they do have of the chamber of secrets
The Lego creator snake is a better version of the basilisk because it’s got the same colour more or less and it’s tons bigger and from my mental image of a minifigure near it it’ll be the size a character WOULD be to the basilisk from Harry Potter
while im not a fan of the size, I think the stacking makes up for it. Hogwarts is like 30 million ft. tall, the last wave just didn't capture its height
Lego should’ve made the torso for Ron have the tie rapped around where his neck would be and Harry’s should have been on not neatly :) Edit: I like how the designers gave the characters that got petrified a frightened face print.

The underground part of the fluffy encounter set is not the chamber of secrets it is the devils snare.
I love how in the movies Voldemort is known for not having a nose and in LEGO it's the complete opposite 👃

The old one was better but this was ones’s still pretty good.
This as to be the ultimate Lego HP set. It’s really minimal yes, but it includes a lot.
The basilisk is perfectly sized for the ucs hogwarts.
