- Today we will be taking a look at the brand new LEGO Harry Potter Chamber of Secrets, the largest set in the 2021 summer wave. This 20th Anniversary set includes a Golden Voldemort and 6 random collectable chocolate frog cards.

I wish they gave Luna a different face, or just not have included her in this set, she wasn't even introduced as a character in the Chamber of Secrets book/movie. But I do like that Ravenclaw robe piece.
Ikr, Luna is so random in this set. I mean it's nice that they wanted to include the Ravenclaw robes, but Penelope Clearwater would make much more sense, and she would be a new character too.
I’m pretty sure that’s Penelope Clearwater and not Luna. But I don’t know, they’re both blonde and in ravenclaw.
Nope, the official Lego website lists the minifigure as Luna. Also, Penelope would have normal sized legs as she was in her fifth or sixth year during CoS.

Holy crap the constellation in the Astronomy Tower is the Kanohi Hau, a Bionicle mask, that's awesome! Makes me super happy as a massive Bionicle fan.

I'd assume there's so many chocolate frogs in the set to go with the chocolate frog cards
I love that Hufflepuff robe piece, and the diary. Colin, Nick,Professor Sinestra, Dumbledore, and Voledmort all look really good. I just like all of it!!!!!

I don't know why Justin and Colin's second expressions aren't their petrified expression. Especially Colin's which was all scrunched up.
They could've used Gabrielle Delacour's face for young Luna.

hollys build of the basilisk is so much better but the one in the set is a big step up from the one in the great hall
Fun fact The basilisk is actually a leg less lizard you can see this in the basilisks jaw it’s fused in the middle unlike a snake were it’s held together by a thin tendon
I think the chocolate frogs are there to make it look like they escaped from the packet, as you get 6 chocolate frog cards.
I can’t wait to get this set, it looks so good.

The reason you can easily take the great hall of the chamber is because you can fit the rest of the 2021 sets into one castle where the poly juice potion mistake set goes above the slide and everything else is moved up :)
I’m so disappointed that after twenty years the chamber of secrets couldn’t be its own set.
I really think Lego missed out on creating a great play set. Imagine if they’d spent all the pieces from the Hogwarts part to make the walkway, brick built snake heads and perhaps even an open pipe on the side of the built that the basilisk could chase Harry through. They could even have included a deathly Hallows version of Ron and Hermione, along with the Hufflepuff Goblet.

Amazing review! A lot are saying that the set with the brick built Fawkes seems random but I think that it really compliments the Chamber of Secrets. After all Fawkes was really prominent in that movie
This has better minifigure selection than great hall because of Luna Lovegood. She's so beloved and we get her in the ravenclaw robes and she wasn't even in the 2nd movie!
Love seeing you so genuinely excited, this review (and all of your reviews, but especially HP ones) is so detailed and you help me out tremendously in making decisions as to what to get first. Can’t wait to see Hogsmeade! I think Hogsmeade might be my first and this my second- but I’m still playing catch up on other series sets that are retiring.. ughh! Anyway, thank you again, keep up the great work!
Hopefully, they make more of those golden characters. They had a bit of an odd selection for this wave.

I had the original 2001 hogwarts castle set when I was growing up and the nostalgia is just hitting so hard for me. I also had other sets like the girls bathroom (then the slytherin common room) and it's just so great to see Lego doing stuff like this to pay homage. I started really getting back into lego about a year ago and I went back into my bucket of legos and rebuilt some of my older sets and I cannot wait to put them next to the new sets.
This is a definitely a Christmas Set. I can't wait until it's released!

This is a solid set. I personally like the sand green roof. Otherwise it would just be a remake of the other castle sets with a bit of variation. Besides it definitely stands out for an anniversary wave. Love the frog cards. 😉💙👍🏻💖

I kind of like that the new great hall is less furnished. The 2018 one ended up just sort of being a dust trap.

oooooh, I love the idea of the wizard cards being randomised! I just wish they'd at least keep them unique per set, but the idea that it's randomised at all I quite like. And I love that they're in 3 colour frames too. Amazing nod to the best harry potter game of all time. As an obsessed kid I used to make my own cards like these. Mum bought me a stamp collecting book to put them in after they were printed out. In hindsight I think she got that rather than a dummy photo album so I'd print small to save ink.
Also a statue of slytherin that the serpent actually fits through! Amazing! A shame that they needed stickers for it though. I would have loved a full relief statue, even if it were crude. It's big enough for it and it would break up the pill shape it has now.
I'm so excited I just can't hide it. I built the great hall set the other day and was so disappointed by the basilisk, so this basilisk is great.

Compared to the movie I thought the Basilisk would be more sand-blue instead of green. But the head is a big improvement.

I plan on picking up all the castle pieces this year, because it feels sorta incomplete without them all, and, they’re AWESOME this year!

The tower having an Astronomy room at the top is a reference to the 2001 Hogwarts. Much like that set, this has the conical tower top attached with only a couple studs, making it easily removable to use the telescope (this is shown in the official images).
The star map in the astronomy tower has a Bionicle Easter egg 😊
imo they massively missed a trick with the gold 20th figures not having the original prints and designs, for example the printing on the Harry uses the new uniform print and the Quirell uses the new style turban mould over the old one

The great hall top looks very much like the 2001 version (4709) with the half plates in the corners, that minifig head under the bowl, and the tower with banner in center.

I actually like Luna Lovegood's inclusion. She may have not appeared in Chamber of Secrets, but she was Ginny's age when she first came to Hogwarts. It's a nice detail for her first year.

Great review, this set looks awesome! I'd love to see a comparison of this set to the 2018 great hall, as well as all of these new sets put together and other combinations with these new hogwarts sets, and maybe what this set would look like attached to some of the older hogwarts sets, like the astronomy tower.

Im buying it for sure but i think i will customize some parts of it.
I plan to turn the great hall into a classroom.
Im gonna put the door of the chamber between the the two parts of the chamber, in its accurate position.
I couldn't agree with you more! Overall I like the set and I am planning on buying it, but I feel like Lego missed the opportunity on this one. When I first heard we're going to have a Chamber of secrets set I was very excited because it's one of the my favorite books and we didn't have anything like that since 2002. I feel like they could have taken away the great hall portion of the set (since we have had many in the past) and invested into adding more details to the chamber itself...
I'm intrested, can you use the 2021 Hogwarts great hall set, the chamber of secrets part to use under the 2018 great hall ? And the other 2021 Hogwarts sets ?
It would be too skinny but with a bit of modding I reckon it could be done

So is lockhart's portrait printed on the piece or a sticker?
I honestly think this set lacks cohesion. Would be much more appropriate to have that corridor with the wall writing in blood and the myrtle bathroom and a snippet of a slytherin dungeon or an aragog closet perhaps. Astronomical tower and everything was completely unnecessary.
Waiting for new sections of the castle and.....the give us the Great Hall AGAIN?!
