Which one is your favourite laptop?
Make sure to add chapters, it's 2024 😶
The Blade 16 but I can't afford it. I use MSI stealth 16 2024 with Ultra 9 and RTX4080 and absolutely love it (of course not everything is great, but it doesn't bother me) . The 4k miniLED display is amazing, portability too. The battery is so-so, not the worst, but not the best either. One of the disadvantages is the heavily heating bottom. I was thinking about the Zephyrus G16, but it can't be upgraded to 64gb ram.
Anyway ! Good review like always!!
@@MatthewMoniz Currently the framework laptop 16 though. The exchangeable GPU is a a valuable feature.
Yes, I work in sub-optimal conditions for laptops and they would need repair regularly.
No Zenbook Duo 14? I feel like it should have been on this list because it's such an interesting product at a competitive pricepoint that isn't just a gimmick and is actually a solid productivity device
How do you rank HP Spectre 16 with the RTX model
Hi Matthew, since you reviewed the G16 (4080gpu) and Legion 7i (4070gpu) can you do a comparison video of both? I think since the Legion is fed more power their performance will be similar.
If not, can you let me know which one of the 2 you preferred?
Been using Legion for 7 years, will continue to rep them, the white legion looks absolutely gorgeous.
Would have loved to see Semi-Glossy display on Blade 16 (G16 has the same panel, but with a less reflective coating while still maintaining its glossiness, Blade 16 heavy reflects any slight light source)
Thanks for the overview Matt. I will be replacing my wife's Vivobook S15 in the near future and this helps narrow the field.
Thanks for watching Bryan!Let me know what you end up getting for her
Just a random question: Is the adreno GPU on snapdragon PCs performing poorly because of compatibility and optimization issues or is it just a subpar GPU?
Snapdragon didn't really make a GPU for the x-elite, they just used an over clocked 8 gen 2 gpu
Hey Mathew, why do you thing about the asus vivobook hinges ? Are those strong enough?
All premium laptops should rethink what we identify as laptop graphics and cooling systems in the last 30 years. Value for money.
My laptop identifies as a north east african bumble cat
Would love that. But companies want their wallets filled
What do you think of the legion 5 pro gen9? I will use it mostly for engineering work and heavy engineering computations
What battery life benchmark you use?
The Asus Vivobook one with 185H is $1100. Where the hell did you get at $849 from?
Why can’t I find that nice dark blue Lenovo Legion anywhere? Any help be appreciated. Is it a Yoga?
What do you think about the Samsung Galaxy Book4 Ultra? I need a powerful laptop for business and school work, as well as video editing.
In the UK, it is £3200, which is an awful value. The US is seeing big discounts, so may be worth a look. But I hate the keyboard and trackpad so an easy no for me.
i if u have witnessed both, the color gamut and color reproduction difference b/w 2k and 3.2k display of legion 7i a lot? im confused as 2k display version has 100%srgb butonly 79% dci-p3
color gamut has nothing to do with resolution. a 2k screen or FHD screen can have better colour gamut and or colour accuracy than a 3k or 4k screen.
@@MatthewMoniz hey matt it is mentioned by lenovo itself that 2k has 100%srgb whereas 3.2k has 100 dci-p3. the latter produces better color as many people said as 100% dci-p3 is better than 100%srgb i hope u get my point now
just got the Surface Laptop 7 15 inch, and I love it. so far supports every app i've thrown at at it, except games with Anti-cheat, but im sure that will be fixed in the future. Also the battery life is unreal coming from a 3070 gaming laptop.
The haptic touchpad is a make or break thing for me. I have been using a MacBook for so long I can’t go back. In that case the surface is the only option and it’s great
Love to hear that you're a fan of haptic touchpads!
Loving my Asus ROG Flow x16 with 4070, perfect mix of creator and gaming friendly 🔥🔥
Crazy this video only just come out, looking for new lappy as we speak!
I'm in the market now for a new laptop. I've always had windows devices but I'm always getting bombarded with Mac is the best for video editing. Any windows laptops comparable as I'm probably also going to buy a Sony Camera this year for videos and photos?
I would either wait for an M4 laptop or when the AMD strix halo is unveiled later this month. That thing will probably be the closest thing to an M chip.
@@GlobalWave1 good stuff, thanks!
My budget is around 60-65k
Looking for a compact laptop where i can do my office works nd basic editing(for personal use)
I don’t do gaming nd all so not considering a gaming laptop
Please can any suggest me one based on my requirements 😊
And one more thing will the Mac m1 be a good option in 2024 as i also have an iPhone
What do you think should i buy lenovo yoga pro 7 i7 13700 + 4050 , or macbook pro m1 pro , and i didn't use a mac before , and i am a student going to universty interested in programming and 3d modeling and maybe i game from month to another
The MacBook will give you a much better battery life.
@@RedaLazri I know but both have decent battery life 8 hours won't bother me much on the yoga , but will the mac be comfortable for my usages , or advantageous on windows in some way
I just picked up a G16 and man is that laptop good. Screen, speakers, build quality, gaming, video editing, good battery life (when you set it to silent and dedicated graphics off) it is near perfect IMO .
time stamps meybe?
Of all these laptops, the HP Omen and the razer blade are great for programming and video editing.
I just bought the 2023 Razer Blade 16 4090 and mini LED. It’s such a stunning machine, screen is great, and with a Dbrand skin it will make me very happy. However, the speakers are so bad and I don’t trust them when editing to know how it will sound on a good device so I will have to be getting some desk speakers for it. I use it for Davinci Resolve and rendering in Lumion and it smokes my 2080ti desktop with 9900k processor. If they could put awesome speakers in it, it would be perfect.
man so disappointed with the arm chips, i would have expected to find alternatives in the ballpark of 500 usd, i can get a quite fine ryzen 7u ideapad for that price but would love to have more battery. This arm options are really hard to justify for many people
When will you be able to review the zenbook s16, I had thought they were coming out July 16,
Embargo date got pushed to the end of the month
@@MatthewMoniz Is that a bad sign like with the snapdragon CPUs that had a long embargo because they did not live up to the hype?
I'm sorry but how did the Surface have that level of battery life????
It's using the Qualcomm Snapdragin chip, battery is awesome but most of software are still not compatible yet (just like back when M1 was introduced)
Thanks so much for this top, I need 32gb Ram and a good graphic Card for gaming and heavy game development and I have seen the Legion 7i and 5i in soo many tops
Im looking for something that i could carry around, get good battry life when using normal tasks, but can do heavy workload mainly da vinci and capture one, and a sd card oled plus a touch screen !!!
ASUS Proart series fits your criteria I think, it'll be launching end of July 2024 but its kinda expensive...
Is that a hp pavillion plus 14 oled in the thumbnail Mathew?
Btw was waiting for this video :D
Yes sir!
@@MatthewMoniz do you recommend that over a zenbook 14 oled ?
Any answer?@@ompatil9831
New to channel, love the content.. Coming from MacBook Pro m3 max and want something for web browsing and media content but won’t lag and is future proof for 5 to 10 years. Recommendations sir? Price isn’t an issue. Just want to make sure to future proof
Thanks! If your macbook pro m3 max is lagging then I have no idea what laptop to suggest to you. That thing should be flying.
@@MatthewMoniz I apologize for confusion I sold the MacBook and wanted to go with windows.
You won't find anything better than the MB Pro M3 Max, but it seems that you are happy downgrading. New Intel and AMD coming in the next 1-3 months, so if you can wait for them.
Downfall from m3 max to windows will be hilarious 🤣🤣
Thanks a lot sister!🎉
I bought the highest skew of the 2024 Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 and I’m very, very happy with my purchase. It’s perfect for my work and leisure needs, it’s crazy fast and snappy, it has amazing build quality and all of that compensates for the lack of upgradability and the lower power draw of the GPU. I can recommend it to anyone.
I see that as one of the highest-rated laptops in 2024, though expensive in the UK at £2400 and always sold out. I assume a new version will be released soon, as AMD will release their latest chip in a week or so.
Id really like a G14, if I didn’t have a MBP I’d buy it as my main laptop but looks like I’ll be getting a thinkpad with AMD iGpu
Great Video. Lenovo Apple ASUS imo have the best laptops overall(for different reasons).
I am going with a Ryzen 9 AI + rtx 5080 next year
I think the asus vivobook s15 with the x elite is the best bang for the buck
Prices don't seem to match up so much.. hmm
It says q2 for crying out loud. Check out q1 or wait until end of year video before you ask for g14.
Loving my 2023 Legion Pro 7i with RTX 4080 🔥
Its a great laptop!
@@MatthewMoniz too bad it doesn't have biometrics and the build quality is a massive step down from 2022...
I want Arm laptop without needing to emulate so pls software engineers make arm version of your apps so the laptop become more power efficient and faster
Wait, why no rog zephyrus g14 2024 at those list?
True! :-)
Because these are the laptops I reviewed in Q2... ROG G14 was already in my Q1 video.
3k display on 14inch laptop with only 4060 and 4070....
@@MatthewMoniz it's not good enough to still be relevant?
@@envyLP333 It has nothing to do with relevance. These are roundup videos of the best laptops I review every quarter. At the end of the year, I'll do my final best laptops overall video.
I'll just wait for a 16 inch Macbook Pro with OLED or a 15 inch Surface Laptop with OLED. I just can't see myself going back to an LCD panel after owning a Steam Deck and Nintendo Switch OLED.
Currently own an M1 2020 Macbook Pro.
Mini-LED is fine but ya I do prefer OLED as well
@@MatthewMoniz Our smart TV's bought back in 2021 are Mini-LEDs. The color of the picture quality still looks washed out when compared to OLEDs and tbh it looks like a brighter LCD panel.
Im surprised to not see the Asus Scar series. I feel the like the 2024 16 inch version is insane in quality. Yeah it has a plastic keyboard deck, but its is soo solid. Also its not a heatsink like all these metal laptops as my scar stays cool for me to game all day. For battery life this laptop even lets you disable the 14900hx all the way down to 4 cores. Theres also wattage settings, so I run the 4 cores at 10 watts.
This is Q2. Scar series was in Q1 Video
@@MatthewMoniz OH! NICE
What about the ROG Zephryus G14? (2024)
What about it? I reviewed that in q1 so it’s my q1 video
You should include the laptop with the best stickers.
If i did that the internet would break
I think ASUS Zenbook 14 oled should be a contender also.
I swear I saw the thumbnail with only the laptop in the middle how did the others come 🗿
MAGIC
Imagine what will come in autumn
Fall is going to be an interesting time!
@@MatthewMonizwhy?
I dont understand...
Why not a convertible arm laptop-
Heck, its not even a 180° hinge for a yoga..
Just whyyyy, Lenovo
XPS 14 is great laptop, but it comes with a price!
Hi Im a music producer that dont want to fall for Mac ecosystem. What will be the best laptop this year for single core performance?
Thank you!
Nothing is gonna beat the new M4 MacBooks tho 👀👀👀👀
We shall see!
@@blackice214 What if you need Windows or Linux?
@@cameronbosch1213 Im running VM Fusion Pro on my macbook right now and Have windows 11 and POP OS linux on it...PS VM fusion pro is now free after broadcom bought them
@@cameronbosch1213then you go buy it, what even is your question
@@abhisheksingh-np8yi Buy *it?* What do you mean.
No OLED no buy simple as
Ordered my legion 7i 2024
Lenovo Legion 7i with Core i7-14700HX, 32GB mem, 1TB SSD and RTX 4070 costs £2200 including UK VAT of 20%.
That is $2813 US!!!
Lenovo UK taking the absolute piss!
I can't believe he put two lenvovos on the list and left out the hottest laptop out now.
Asus Zephyrus G16.
That laptop is the most desirable and best designed this year.
I didn’t leave it out. I reviewed it in q1 and it’s in my q1 video. This is q2
Samsung galaxy book 4 pro or lenovo slim 7x ?
Depends on much you need to rely on x86 apps.
Ok
I disagree with Arm chip. Those computers are 2 years away from being useful.
I have the surface but 26 hours is really overrated
Small mistake at 3:14 btw. Isnt legion.
Ya thats fine! You know what im talking about = )
Downside not downfall;)
Surface laptop has over 26 Hours battery life, that's just out of this world even though you are paying a premium.
It has less than half that doing real work. I have used the Surface Pro X Elite, and 8-9 hours is the best time I can get to multitask and do office work. Do not take claims of 20+ hours seriously, as they are rare and only under restricted usage.
You forget the best the redmibook 16 (2024), 99Wh battery, core ultra 7, 140w charging, nice keyboard, a lot of ports, 32gb RAM, 1 TB SSD for under 1000€ 😊
+3k Display 165hz 👀
Can't forget something I didnt review but im sure its great!
name the 3 best 360* laptops
HP Spectre X360 for sure.. Really impressed with that one this year. Maybe surface pro - oled if they drop the price a bit.. What would you pick?
HP Spectre X360 , Lenovo Yoga and ASUS Zenbook Duo
@@overaxs also minisforum v3 if you're okay with near zero support.
It does come with 32 GB of RAM, 1 TB SSD, a keyboard case, and a bunch of nice to haves for just $1100.
$4200 for a laptop is something i thought i will never hear
Its expensive! But there's quite a few laptops that can reach well over 4k. Spec out a MacBook Pro
G16 4080!!! Great all around laptop with excellent battery life. no???
G16 is great and already talked about it in my Q1 video since that's when I reviewed it. We are at the end of Q2 now = )
@@MatthewMoniz Got it! I'm really curious - would you go G16 4080 or Legion 7i? Does the Legion feel better in hand? If both are in budget, any reason to avoid the G16? Thanks again - always love your videos!!!
Suggestion: annual best laptop for trading.
No Zephyrus G14? Thats kinda a big joke. Peddling Lenovo over the Zephyrus, a folded aluminum sheet over a plastic chassis versus an unibody of the zephyrus.
G14 was in my q1 video. This is q2
@@MatthewMoniz ah wait ofcourse, sorry for that. it was Q2 in my region.
Why not Samsung Galaxy book 4 lol?
Never reviewed it
If you've ever tried to deal with Lenovo warranty repair/return support you will never buy a Lenovo product ever again. If you havent, be warned.
Asus G14 !!!
Already talked about in my Q1 video. This is Q2 laptops i reviewed..
@MatthewMoniz G14 is only $150 less than the Blade 14 right now. And the Blade has upgradable RAM and is much more powerful. All the G14 has right now is the OLED screen; it's not enough for me to recommend it over the Blade when the price difference is so small and you get less otherwise.
@@cameronbosch1213That’s not the only thing it has. It’s thinner, lighter, has better battery life and better speakers (not even close)
Maybe not all of these are important for everybody. But the screen (which is awesome) is not the only thing it has going on
Obviously the Blade will be more powerful. And is quieter, and cooler, which is great. It also has upgradable RAM
Also the Blade 14 is now on Bestbuy (and most websites) $700 more expensive. So it’s not fair to talk about a sale price, because the G14 can be on sale too anytime. It’s definitely not a $150 difference
If we include all of 2024, got to include the M3 Air with 16GB of RAM. Excellent laptop for casual use.
Personally, the Dell Latitude 7450 works for my needs.
M3 wasnt released in Q2.. I already included it in my Q1 video
Buy arm laptops ❤
Game developer and software developer are struggling to get their software out because microsoft and Qualcomm are not supporting the developer that well. DO NOT BUY X ELITE LAPTOP IN 2024 YET.
It's been a weird year for laptops.
It really has!! By the end of the year we should have a clearer picture
00:43 I did not expect racism on this channel son
LOL
😊😊😊😮
My answer: None, don't buy a laptop, but if you have to, buy a framework laptop.
Terrible answer
Desktops aren’t portable.
Really dawg!! 🙁
@@MatthewMonizWrong even worse answer. The Framework Laptop 13.5 is awesome. They have a new 3 : 2 120 hz screen that allows 2x retina scaling, a new webcam, and they actually have upgradeable RAM and good Linux support!
