This is great to see people wearing babies and it's great to encourage new mums to buy one. However when you do wear him try spread the wrap from knee to knee to make sure his knees are higher than his bottom as it supports their backs and is a more ergonomically carry, otherwise he's just pretty much crotch dangling! Great video though, love watching you from the UK! xx
Thank you to the comments of warning people not to use moby wrap for face-forward position. I was trying to make more use of my moby because my baby is growing and does not like facing me. So thanks again
be careful with the forward facing with a strechy wrap like this one. there are a few dangers associated with that sort of carry. if you want to carry your son so he can face forward try a ring sling on your hip or an ergo 360 or something like that. i usually wouldn't even say anything but i'm sure you wouldn't do anything if you thought it wasn't safe so just maybe look into it.
That and the child is not in an ergonomic position. So i wouldnt advise forward facing at all. If you want baby to see better a ringsling or the ruck carry with a woven wrap are better options :)
It's not ergonomical because the baby's back is overstreched, especially when a woman (with boobs) is carrying, and the legs are hanging down. All the weight is on the baby's genital area, which is uncomfortable and not good for hip devellopment. The legs should be in M-shape and the back should be slightly curved. It's not safe because the baby, especially the neck is not supported by the strechy wrap this way.
you aren't supposed to have baby facing forward like that, I have a 4 month old as well and when I got my Boba wrap I researched different holds. forward facing is not recommended because it causes baby to have an unnatural hollow back, preventing the natural curve of the spine. Baby should be facing you with his legs at hip height.
@@latoyajames134 That’s not only a black people invention, Mayans, Aztec and Indians and even Native Americans used to carry their children this way. So no this is not a black people invention 🙄🤦🏼♀️
Hey, it's really dangerous to show people very incorrect methods. His legs need to be out of that, not in those pockets, and he also shouldn't be facing out (would you like to dangle on your crotch for long periods of time?) Babies need to be properly supported while being wrapped or they will have a lot of painful pressure on parts of their hips and spine that they don't need.

There are tuns of them out there. You want the legs to be higher than the bum. Look at wrappingrachel in TH-cam, she has a lot of great videos.and baby wearing faith. And maybe read up on how to properly wear your baby and not go by a youtuber video 100%, I hope I make sense. Best of luck.
Hey Kyra! I have been watching OKBaby and Kbaby for about a year, our first sons are close in age! I just had my second son in October. I never found a great video that made me comfortable in using the moby with my first. But did a random TH-cam search today and so excited to see you in my results! Loved this video, my son is four months and loves the front facing carry. Thank you!!
It is really nice to see you use the wrap as something helpful in your life. I found it helped me in getting a lot more stuff done. Also i found a very convenient way to transport my baby as the wrap can already be made before you do your trip. I always kept the wrap in the car for example. When you use the stretchy wrap it is very important to make sure you put the wrap from knee to knee. Otherwise the legs will be hanging in the hip joint at a time in their life when their hip joint is still developing a lot. The forward facing is not so good for their development either, since they are forced in a arch in their back. Whenever you pick up a baby you will see they will have a rounded back as a natural posture, this is something you want to maintain. Both of the things mentioned above are the reasons a stretchy wrap is a anatomical wrap, but you have to use it correctly.
All the other Moby videos I've watched make me feel like my wrap is sooo long compared to the ones in the video, until I saw yours. Lol. I needed to see a video that was similar to mine I'm still trying to practice so I've been watching this over and over along with your daily vlog. You and Kkandbabyj get me through some long sleepless nights with my week old newborn! So thank you :)
Guys please don't criticize Kyra, she is doing the best she can and she is an amazing mother. Some people are saying that since Levi was in this wrap for some of his life, he won't be able to walk when he is older. Levi is now 1 year old and he can walk perfectly fine so please don't just make assumptions like that unless your a doctor or have seen the most recent videos
It has nothing to do with criticizing. It just simple is not correct way of wraping a child in an elastic wrap. This is potentially dangerous for hip development and you should never carry small baby facing out! We are talking abour fragile newborns people, not toys!
This video helped me SO much more than any other one!! The second hold works so much better for my 3 month old daughter because she has such long legs!! Thank you for this!!

please never wear a baby facing forward in a stretchy wrap. it's very dangerous. Lots of wonderful baby carriers allow for this ergo 360, lilliebaby are just a couple. DO NOT DO IT WITH A MOBY OR ANYTHING SIMILAR
Kyra, do you think you'll try more of a backpack baby holder since buggy is getting older and bigger? What age and weight do you recommend mommies to stop using the Moby wrap? I really wish I would've bought a Moby wrap for my youngest daughter! They look so comfy!! I ended up using the backpack baby holder for newborns up to 2 years old! It still works the same, but as baby gets heavier, it really starts hurting your shoulders and back!

thx alot Kyra I was searching for that for some time because my new born baby girl keep on crying a lot and I can't work but it really did work for me I can work and she doesn't cry a lot anymore 💗💗💗
I wonder if she’s seen all the comments about how she’s got the wrong technique and the danger of the baby facing forward 🤔🤔 hope she takes it down ... very dangerous for people who don’t know better 😏
You explained this so much better then the pro at the convention for them lol my sister was like what I don't get it :( I showed her this and she was like omg that's so easy and now I found another big buddie she loved Levi :)
This is absolutely horrible!!! A baby should never be worn face forward. There's too much excitement and if the baby wants to hide he doesn't have a place to do it. This fot the emotional part. As for the physical...check out hip displazia due to the baby hanging there. He should form an M with the legs and bum and the material should stretch for the back of one knee to the back of the other. Of course, the position cannot be reached forward facing, this is why ff is not ergonomical at all. Also the back of the baby should be allowed to curve naturally and not the opposite way when he is pressed to your boobs/belly. Just awful
I’m a new mom and I had this wrap when my baby was only a few days old and I needed a new way to wear it since he is bigger and I will be flying with just me and baby. He doesn’t like his legs and arms trapped so this will help at the airport. Thank you for this video.
I love my wrap but I leave my sons legs out now he’s almost 5 months and he loves it both ways to fall asleep front facing and to “help” outwards facing! They are warm too which I like we live in Maine so it can get cold 🥶
Thank you so much for doing this video! I've got a 16lb 3month old. She was born 10lbs so she was already huge and the newborn position worked for a short time. I haven't used my Moby since the first month but she is demanding to be walked around and in my arms but she's so heavy! I needed the third position you showed and it's so helpful to see someone show how to do ut. I'm going to go try it now 😂
My baby gets uncomfortable too. It does look like he had trouble settling into the Moby though. At first I thought that the straps were choking him, but when she turned to the side, I could see that his sweater might have been making him feel uncomfortable. I wouldn't use this hold just because I think with how heavy my boy is at 3 months he is starting to move around more thus he could strain his back or his privates might hurt, if I do it for long periods of time. On the other hand, I could work on not letting him lie down while I'm "busy getting stuff done"/ housework, laundry etc. I'm trying to find a good balance between resting for my own body, letting him rest, and staying active with him. Not just carrying him around. I'd say she's doing her best as a new mommy and only thought she was being helpful. ( I'd probably be excited too if I discovered a new way to do something that could potentially be of help to others, even if I was unaware of the dangers involved.) I just think that because she has a new baby, she is still learning. And I'm pretty sure she now knows what might be the wrong and the right way to do it. Heck! I've tried to do some things the right way and failed miserably. I've even had a few close calls. So because of this, I can't really say anything about this vid. I just appreciate that she's upbeat and it looks like she really loves and knows her son well. 💗
Oh my God, you should never ever carry a baby like that using a sling. It should always be facing you. And in the first wrapping his legs should not be like that. You can really hurt a baby carrying it so wrong...
Which wrap are you using? I went to target to get one but it didn't look anything like yours. It was alot different but it was still called a moby wrap
I know you meant well and tried helping other moms because you are carrying people (I really like your videos 💗)... but please, PLEASE take this video down! This is so so wrong and potentially dangerous short Ann’s long term 😰 Please!
She isn't swinging and bending over so his head is fine. the second wrap method is great and it's no different then holding your baby against your chest. And if you have a baby you would know that there's only a few small hours of the day where you would wear one of these anyways.
@@hinahinananoha7783 can YOU Google some carrying-facts before you correct sara harb, because she is right.. this is not ergonomic carrying at all and is not good for the child at all😓
Hi, cute video! I know you said your son was 4 months at the time of this video but when do you think is the soonest you can do that forward facing wrap with a baby? Thanks!
Forward facing isn't recommended by Moby. It doesn't support the baby's legs the way they need to be for proper hip development/comfort. Also it puts their back into a position that is bad for them. Google 'forward facing Moby wrap'.
I've been searching and searching for a video that would help me front wrap my 5 month old and out of all the videos on TH-cam I found this one the most helpful.
My baby has clubbed feet so she would need her legs out in a wrap because she has casts on her legs that go up to her mid thigh. Could I use the second method with a one month old safely?
Thank you! I was holding a screaming kid, trying to figure this out! As soon as I strapped her up, calm as can be! Thanks for explaining the front-facing hold! #godsend
Aaron games hi Arron I saw your comment and wanted to chime in. A Moby is not very supportive for bigger babies because it is very stretchy, it could even stretch to much and babe can fall out. An alternative to a stretchy wrap is a woven wrap they come I different sizes depending on what kind of carries you would like to do. If a wrap isn’t your thing a Tula carrier is a very good option. It is a buckle kind of carrier you strap it around your waist out babe in and buckle him in. Kind of like a back pack. They have them in standard size and toddler size depending on babes highs and weight. Hope this helped 😃😃 oh forgot to mention that front carries are not recommended for babies hips
Babies breath can have hard time breathing due to stomach pressure when face forward like that! It’s even recommended not to put diapers to tight for that reason .
With the number of comments saying how she’s doing it wrong and its harmful for the baby, I’m surprised this video is still up. It shows how she doesn’t care about what her audience says
In the newborn hold , the last piece to go over baby w | the label on it , it seems kinda loose at the top when I pull over my son. How do I make it tighter or is it suppose to be kinda loose. I tried to pull the fabric over my shoulders but nothing seems to work for me. 😭
When you make your first wrap, from your belly button around to your back try to keep the wrap taught as you bring it up over your shoulders and this should prevent the looseness. Also remember they are stretchy and a good wash could be your solution if you find the wrap a bit stretched out!
Just recently started watching your videos found you through Keren (kkandbabyj) ive been binge watching all of your videos and I love you and your little family. I'm 20 and me and my fiance are expecting a little girl in may every time i watch your videos it just makes me want her here right now lol. We really wanna start vlogging just so we have the videos to look back on. any suggestions ?
Do you remember he weight limit on this wrap? My daughter is almost 2 but only 22 lbs always wants me to hold her and this would be perfect if it will hold her weight. Also could this wrap be using for holding her on my back?
Good information but please research for the safety of your child/ children (forward facing) actually isn't safe period in any wrap or carrier it puts pressure on the babies at all! It's bad for their pelvic area and spine!
i know she is not using the ergo its obvious and noooo because if baby doesn't reach the right weight then it can't face forward at 5 month you should read the instructions more carefully
Yaaas! Thank you thank you thank you! I have one of these and looking forward to using it when my baby's born (around may). I just had no idea how to use it. Now I do!
@@MaggieSimpsonn Vandana Malik is right. This is an inappropriate way to carry a child and is very disruptive to their hip and spine development and alignment. It’s also uncomfortable for them, as you can see from the baby in this video. I am a doctor, by the way.

It's not safe for baby to face out in a stretchy wrap...
or before 6 months I thought?
There is no way to carry a baby or child face forward in an ergonomical way, besudes safety.
Why
It's not ergonomical because the baby's back is overstreched, especially when a woman (with boobs) is carrying, and the legs are hanging down. All the weight is on the baby's genital area, which is uncomfortable and not good for hip devellopment. The legs should be in M-shape and the back should be slightly curved.

Sara Harb Higher than waist??:)))) Could you do any research before you spew nonsense???
@@hinahinananoha7783 can YOU Google some carrying-facts before you correct sara harb, because she is right.. this is not ergonomic carrying at all and is not good for the child at all😓
@@hinahinananoha7783 m-position for the legs and a c-curve for the back of the child is important! And never front facing
his outfit was so cute awe💖
I was about to go to bed but then I got a notification that you uploaded this so I had to watch ily😍☺️
same😍❤️
I can't believe I've been watching for so long :(
Man it’s amazing to see how far they come!!!! So amazing!! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Google 'forward facing Moby wrap'.
your such an amazing mum!😘💕.
!you guys are so cute! love to watch your videos
p.s i love His jumper
I'm so glad I found this video because I was about to give up on my Moby wrap
How much does he weigh? I just got my wrap but my baby girl is 1 month and 12lbs. Would the front facing still be good?
My daughter is 5.5 months 18.5 lbs can I use this front facing ??
I've been searching and searching for a video that would help me front wrap my 5 month old and out of all the videos on TH-cam I found this one the most helpful.
My baby has clubbed feet so she would need her legs out in a wrap because she has casts on her legs that go up to her mid thigh. Could I use the second method with a one month old safely?
Thank you! I was holding a screaming kid, trying to figure this out! As soon as I strapped her up, calm as can be! Thanks for explaining the front-facing hold! #godsend
It's like your holding a blonde baby version of Oscar. Super Cute😍👶
U are my favorite you tuber!!!
I love you so much!! You are such a great mum!!
Hi my son is 13 months is this wrap suitable for him? If not which one do you suggest.
It shows how she doesn’t care about what her audience says
me watching since he was babyy! my son is 4 months old TODAY too!
THANKYOU FOR THE FROUNT FACING ONE MY PRINCESS HAS BEEN SO FUSSY TODAY!!!!
Please read up on this, it's not an ergonomic position and is hard on babes body.
@@kalianaray-vl6cq only just seen your comment a year later dang..... my daughter loved it tho but we only done it a few times
What age can you do the front facing from?
In the newborn hold , the last piece to go over baby w | the label on it , it seems kinda loose at the top when I pull over my son. How do I make it tighter or is it suppose to be kinda loose. I tried to pull the fabric over my shoulders but nothing seems to work for me. 😭
When you make your first wrap, from your belly button around to your back try to keep the wrap taught as you bring it up over your shoulders and this should prevent the looseness. Also remember they are stretchy and a good wash could be your solution if you find the wrap a bit stretched out!
what's the fabric please?
Just recently started watching your videos found you through Keren (kkandbabyj) ive been binge watching all of your videos and I love you and your little family. I'm 20 and me and my fiance are expecting a little girl in may every time i watch your videos it just makes me want her here right now lol. We really wanna start vlogging just so we have the videos to look back on. any suggestions ?
Do you remember he weight limit on this wrap? My daughter is almost 2 but only 22 lbs always wants me to hold her and this would be perfect if it will hold her weight. Also could this wrap be using for holding her on my back?
You can't use a stretchy wrap safely for a back carry at any age. Try a tula. They're great for older babies.
Stretchy wraps are normally comfy until baby weights about 6-8 kg. I would recommend to get a woven wrap instead.
Where can you get one of these mobys from? I really want one for when my babygirl is born ❤️☺️
+Kbaby thank you! ☺️ I love your videos btw ❤️
Hi does this hurt their head/neck at all??
I like my Myra ring sling and ergo. My hubs likes the baby Ktan, which is similar to this. Awesome vid
How many months can you keep using the moby wrap? My son is 6 months old.... n I havent really put it to use=/
I LOVE YOUR GUYS VIDEOS, I just recently subscribed but you guys are amazing and Oscar is super funny and your super sweet haha
Good information but please research for the safety of your child/ children (forward facing) actually isn't safe period in any wrap or carrier it puts pressure on the babies at all! It's bad for their pelvic area and spine!
agree. I won't recommend using a wrap to forward facing
M. Myers the ergo360 its actually the safest way to face forward your baby
Thalia Poblete she isn't using a ergo 360 and it also isn't to be used until at " least 5 months old forward facing 👎👎😔
i know she is not using the ergo its obvious and noooo because if baby doesn't reach the right weight then it can't face forward at 5 month you should read the instructions more carefully
Thalia Poblete don't need too because 1 I don't have an ergo 360 and two I'd never forgave my child in a carrier
love watching your videos. My baby is due in September, thanks for all of these how to videos! xoxoxoxoxo
Ana Macedo this video is wrong and unsafe
Yaaas! Thank you thank you thank you! I have one of these and looking forward to using it when my baby's born (around may). I just had no idea how to use it. Now I do!
What do you do if your babies feet turn purplish? My baby girl. When she's in her carrier her feet and legs go dark
4 months to 4 years damn why does this time fly so quickly😭...All hearts to Buggy,Sissy & Teeny💋❤
I love you!!!!!!!😍😍😍😍😍
+Kbaby when yall reply it makes me soooooo happy😂😄😍😍
He is so uncomfortable that it's bothering me here😡
Oh my god grow up.
@@MaggieSimpsonn if putting your child in pain is growing up than no thanks I am happy being a child.
@@MaggieSimpsonn Vandana Malik is right. This is an inappropriate way to carry a child and is very disruptive to their hip and spine development and alignment. It’s also uncomfortable for them, as you can see from the baby in this video. I am a doctor, by the way.
Can I do for my 2 month old baby he is long so legs in or out ?
I know this is an old video but I felt I should drop a thanks all the same :)
I'm shopping around for a wrap for my "PLEASE DON'T EVER PUT ME DOWN" baby (Micro-preemie, 8 months this month, four months corrected) and the Moby is high on my list but I wasn't sure if it really was as easy to use as what I've seen.... so I came to good ol' youtube and your video was one of the first that popped up in my search.
So, yeah. Thanks for showing how the wrap works and not taking a half hour and tons of chatter to do it XD
So thorough!!!! Thank you so much!!!!
