So I have actually been excited about trying out the new Bose 700 headphones. I was curious to if these were going to be the new noise cancelling king headphones. The price of these are $400 so they are already pretty proud of these from the start. But can anything justify the price tag? Enjoy!

Excellent review. As another reviewer mentioned, I wish that more folk were as honest as you. The Sony MX4's will be a winner if they fix their call quality, the controls in extremely cold weather, the comfort of the ear cups (they need to be deeper) and the ability to connect with multiple devices. They also need to do something about their casing - the MX3's are sometimes very difficult to fold the right way!! They need to keep it simple.

Yeah, easilly worth the 100 us extra to be able to actually have a conversation. I agree that sound probably is better in the Sony headphones, but you cant have a conversation with anyone in it, even if background noice is just very low. With these I can drive, cut my lawn, sitt in coffeshops, stand in trafic and who ever I speak to cant hear any of it. Amazing. Maybe they should cost 299 per noice-canceling, 299 for you, and 299 for the person in the other end? In that case they are cheap :)

I got the Sony 1000 and had to return them because I got them for work. Calling is just impossible. I don't know if I should get the Bose, I want the best headphones for phonecalls. And I want to be able to connect to my mac and my android phone the same way I do with my Jaybird x3. Just pause there, pay here and the headphones know what I'm doing. BUT IDK. I don't see any other option and some people say Bose 700 are not worth the money. I just don't know what to do

I purchased and tested the Bose 700 with my colleague and he said he never noticed I was even at a loud public location and the sound quality is great. The microphone technology is second to none. Trust me man you won’t regret it.

I just got em, and i love them, been using them for about 2 months. What-ever issues they had with the app has been fixed, because i haven't had any issues with them. I love the sound, and the right amount of bass (although i do like more bass tbh) and overall, they seem to work really well. I've never owned the models before, so i can't compare, but overall, i think they are worth it.

I would be wary, if you have not yet purchased the Panasonic 605n, the headband is ridiculously brittle. I treated mine with the utmost care for 18months and one day I put them on the band just above the hinge of the left cup just cracked and split. It was ridiculous. Sent them back to amazon for a full refund (thanks amazon) and got the XM3 - now only 240 Sterling. They are way lighter and there isn’t any ANC hiss like with the Panasonic 605n. Way more control with the EQ on the app as well and better build quality.

I bought Bose 700 at a discounted price of 330 USD and am absolutely loving them. At this price the value these deliver is incomparable to Sony or Sennheiser. I have always been a fan of Bose's warm and natural sound signature. Sony sound a bit boomy and unnatural to me. Plus the noise cancellation of Bose 700 is top notch.

As someone who's averaging 300+ flights per year, I have my QC35 on at least 2 hrs each day of the year, southern hemisphere as well as northern, at the beach or on mountains, in the cold of Norway or the heat of Oman, moist and dry environments, they always provide me with excellent sound, good enough noise cancellation and sometimes usable phone/skype call quality in noisy environments. What I am looking most for with the new Bose 700 is natural call quality in noisy environments. Thanks for your honest review which offers me some assurance that these are going to be better in that department. The QC35 had huge issues with connections as well for the first 10-15 revisions of their firmware. For the past 8 months it's been a smooth ride though, especially when switching between laptop and phone, during taxi and takeoff.

Bought them when they got out more than a year ago. Great sound, confort, and anc. The best spec for me is the mic clarity on phone calls, I do spend a lot of time at work speaking in foreign languages (spanish, english, german) and because of my french accent it was'nt always easy to be understood. With this headset it has been much much easier, especially with all the video meetings we have in 2020. If you have the budget don't hesitate.

I've had these for over 6 months and i can honestly say they're super comfy to wear on the ear and the mic quality is good as you said yourself. although there are a few faults with the headphones, it does struggle to play music when there has been a few occasions where im sat on a bus & the road surface is rather bumpy. although it does have a 19hr battery life it seems like a lot less. and even though i did say its comfortable to wear on ear the headset is a little slippery as i do tend to keep having to adjust the headset.

The microphone's ability to be clear anywhere you are makes this a perfect fit for my situation. Hey thanks for the heads up, I'm coming from a QC35 (v1) have had them for 4 years and the sound to me is what I like, so knowing that they left it the same is positive in the sense that, at least it isn't worse and it will be 'as good' possibly by now 2 years later, had some minor improvements. Shopping against the Sony XM4s, I like the battery notification improvement where it says hours and minutes vs QC35/XM4s saying battery %, I'm a fan of the design personally, the 20 hours of battery life is the same as the QC35s which I have used mine every day for 4 years, often for 16 hours a day and they've never died unless I didn't charge them overnight, and also apparently these are more comfortable. So that's how I landed where I did, but enjoyed the video, thank you!

In the car with a little bit of cancellation I even use them as personal monitors at band practice. I briefly auditioned the Sony M3s. They do have more bass with an open sound stage. However, the 700s have more detail. The 700s do have better detail than the 35s. Either one is a great choice. Jus have $550. so you can get the warranty. This stuff will give wear out after 2000 hrs.

I’m wondering which model I should get, the 35s or the 700s. I listen to music about six to eight hours a day on normal days. Sometimes I have days I don’t, some days it’s just two to three hours. What can you recommend for overall heavy listeners? I really love the 35s as I got to experience them when they had a display at Target and Best Buy, but honestly I’m looking for the most reliable ones!

I drive a big rig for a living. Visual scenes are a much more useful tool for driving vs hearing. You would be surprised how loud road noise is when you your used to noise cancellation. After all... We lose our precious hearing from age 2 and up. Jus don't realize it. I use the Nuraphones for bass heavy music and the 700s for Jazz and softer music. They sound a little better/cleaner Than 35s. Maybe 25%. There more comfortable, built better, and the slide tap features are useful. Only complaint I have is after I charge em. The prompt tells me the same battery % as b4 I charged em. Their not the best on the market. But, for $300. Their reasonable. Ultimate Ears are pretty sweet in-ears. Very expensive tho......

Bought them yesterday, no problems connecting to the app. Apps ultimately will have an update and there will be a fix. Sound wise is subjective and depended on what you are used to listen to. To me it's very good and could not hear a difference with the sony 1000xm3. In fact the sony was quite troublesome with their automatic noise cancelling feature to the point you had to disable it all together and also you could not have 2 devices connected at the same time, whereas bose doesn't have this problem. To me the price(now lower a bit) is in turn to justify the design and the existence of the QC 35 that already sells at a lower range.

I’d say it’s the build quality that makes them more expensive. There’s no doubt that the quality of the materials and finish is a cut above the QC35s and Sony (insert long terrible name here). I have the original QC35s and I love the way they sound. Yes they could be better but I enjoy how they are quite warm and I can turn them up as loud as I want without sharp treble hurting my ears. They have nice bass that’s loud without being overpowering and the mids are quite natural sounding (vocals and acoustic guitars especially).

  • @ozyrandor
    @ozyrandor 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Thank you for the review. I was trying to decide between the Sonys and these. Ultimately I chose bose for a) build quality (I've heard some bad things about the Sonys), b) the ability to connect to 2 devices at once and c) the ability to keep using these while charging. I am a bit worried about the app, but hopefully they have fixed it by now... (also I got them on sale, so the price isn't really an issue for me either)

One thing I’ve noticed with any pair of noise canceling headphones is the noise cancellation starts to wear and it’s with all noise canceling headphones not just Bose that’s why I tell people not to stretch them out and be careful with them because if their not as tight of a fit then the noise cancellation won’t work as well.

I like the headphones but they were slipping off my head from the back whenever I looked upward. Slippery little buggers. I took mine back and they gladly gave me an exchange for a new tighter pair. Most people were complaining just the opposite that they felt they were too tight but I have a smaller head and probably just got a looser pair (maybe a flaw.) The 2nd pair feels better but the material in general still makes them a bit slippery on my head.

I've been a bose fan for a long time. They were my first pair of expensive headphones (QC35) and honestly looking back. I've been using them for 5 years and i think i paid about 500 AUD for then when i got them. if i could go back in time and if it was priced at 1k i would still buy them. they were revolutionary at the time and for me.
So this year i was looking for an upgrade. as much as i love my current QC35's i wanted an upgrade and for 4 months i was leaning very heavily into Bose, like an apple fan for the iphones. (though i'm an android user) and was about to get it. i spent a few days after classes going into stores with the MX3's and 700's constantly comparing and contrasting.
Now this is from a Bose fan who would've loved nothing more than to buy another bose pair. It's multi pairing feature sounded amazing and i'm not audiophile so i was happy with just better ANC and ambiance mode compare to my QC35s. But most important of all. Comfort. Bose is the king in comfort. they shape the inside of the earphones to match the fact that the back of your ear protrudes out more than the canal and so it's shaped so your ears don't touch the insides not to mention it's soft. End of the day for comfort it's bose all the way,
But in the end i chose theMX3's. Honestly, i'm insanely tempted to buy both (i'm not rich but i'm not the type to spend a little on a lot of small things but instead spend a lot on a little of big things. I had enough savings and really want both). Though i haven't bought the 700's yet i am very happy with my MX3's. Comfort is lacking but i got it for really cheap (since i was scouting deals) about 320 AUD which translates to about 220 USD for a great pair of headphones. maybe in a year or 2 i'll get the bose. I'm really salty the MX4's didn't come out but what can you do. MX3's are a good product and while i'm gonna be angry if the MX4's release next year and are a major improvement, so far so good

I am not surprised at all that Bose came out the a product more expensive than everything else. To me, that has always kind of been their thing. They market home sound equipment that offers a hyped, processed sound. People drink the juice, and because the price is high it must be the best, right? They had it cornered with the QC line for a long time because they DO know how to do ANC. Maybe now they will learn how to design good sounding headphones.

Thanks, you commented on what I am focusing on; the noise cancelling on the microphone side. I tried the Cowin E8 and the E8 upgrade and they are ok but the microphone picks up all the sound. I was looking at the Bose 700 next but the $400 mark is high. I tried the QC 35, the M3 and the 700's at the store. All sounded better than the E8 but not worth the $$. However I am still not sure about how well or how much difference there is in the noise cancelling untill your vidoe; looks like the M3's would be the best but probably not good enough. Will probably end up with a wired set with a boom microphone. Recommend any boom microphone headphone?

Upgraded from my old QC35s but I'm probably going to return mine too after two weeks of having them. Tbh the app for the QC35s was also annoyingly glitchy. It's pretty hasty on Bose's part to release an equally glitchy app for the Bose 700s. Another issue I noticed and haven't found a resolution for is the left side cup will randomly start making a popping or crackling sound. It's very subtle but after reading through a few online posts, all I kept seeing was Bose suggesting different troubleshooting instructions that have resolved nothing. I'm not about to start troubleshooting problems on a pair of a $400 headset after having them only for a few days.

@Lucas Silva Boas Lucas! A bateria é fantástica.
