I need that entire transcription of the “I was the first person who liked Thief” section of this pod
The Rewatchables going weekly next year is the best gift I'll get this season
He trusted Holly Hunter's character b/c of her relation to Gary Busey, who had been cell mates with Strathairn. Plus the fact that she was in the room when Busey was killed by those two guys, whom Cruise knows from her description
Great impression of Brimley.....
Heartbreak.
Grisham literally wrote a book called The King of Torts.
Great read too.
The difference in reaction to Chris said it all:
Chris: “…it’s not gonna make sense, but the Firm kinda reminds me of Heat”
Bill: “mmmmm”
Sean: “oh god!”
Bill: “Sprawling”
This movie is absolutely a rewatchable
Wilfred brimley best line : I get paid to be worried when I ain’t got nothing to be worried about. !! One of the greatest performances as a bad guy ever . Jeanne triplehorne? She could have been massive as a great actress but her career fell like a big rock , almost by choice.
Strathairn is a great actor
Fun fact. Wilfred Brimley was a bodyguard for Howard Hughes
That Brimley bit on Family Guy is still the best
Great foot chase
I love this movie. Killer cast
Hopefully the Rewatchables gets into some of Coppola's 70's films, Scorsese's 80's films, and P.T. Anderson's 90's films during 2019.
I love the movie and book
It is
The movie barely follows the book at all. The movie ending was actually better than the book. A simpler ending.
Tom wrestled in Fourth Of July. It was a big scene and why he joined the Marines.
The third box says the Who Won the Movie segment is at 1:22:00, but the podcast is only 1:19.
yeah the pod went to 1:25. They'll probably have to re-upload it.
Can u guys do Goodfellas? Very Rewatchable
Shalom bill when will you do cocktail on this show? Thanks
It’s when he’s telling the mafia boss (Paul Sorvino) that he has made copies of their records and explains how they have been over billed next.
Peak Memphis.
26:35 Are you sure Bill? Any other movie you'd trust Gene Hackman to drop your dunk wife home? The man played Lex Luthor
And the guy in Unforgiven.
Feels strange to hear Chris Ryan pod with anyone else...
Tripplehorn was very pretty in the 90s. I felt like she was a Kelly McGillis type
Tombstone . Boogie nights.
You do realize the endings of the book versus the movie are completely different?
22:41
Book was better than the movie.. but I still liked the movie..
Whats not attractive about backflips?
If you guys so much as do a rewatchables in 2022 on ALIENS youll be sure to tell me before it hits the ground .....wont cha? Wont cha guys?
I just watched the movie for the first time. I didn't enjoy the music. It's too playful. It took away from the seriousness and danger of some scenes
I love the score
BackFlip scene is so stupid , that it almost totally derailed the whole fucking movie
Lol. It's beyond ridiculous. No idea what the point of it was
@@MrOctober44 To establish that the character of Mitch McDeere was a person with a background in gymnastics; that he had co-ordination, stamina, flexibility and physical endurance. The cheap payoff for this was that ridiculous chase scene later on in the movie where Mitch has to jump out of a four-story building, land in the back of a padded flatbed truck, spend the following ten minutes running for his life at top speed, and eventually ambushing one of his pursuers by jumping down onto him after being suspended from the ceiling of an abandoned warehouse. Ya know, lawyer stuff.
@@plissken2156 Besides being a great lawyer he can also outrun a prime Carl Lewis, lol.
Shalom I don't agree with a lot of the stuff said on the show
Rewatched recently and entertaining movie but somewhat dated and not really anything special. Hard to see this being a movie people would watch over and over again.
I’m not sure if it was Fenessey or Ryan, but his “Grissom” pronunciation joke only hit once out of three tries. Let it go buddy!
I think they each did it about five times. They needed someone to give them a look like enough guys
@@MrOctober44 it was winding up Bill so totally worth it.
Does Chris Ryan have to be on every single good episode? He’s beyond annoying. He’s unlistenable.
Downsizing is HORRIBLE!!
