Raikou outside of GSC is one of those pokemon that has a small chance to rip your opponent to shreds without trying, or makes you play with 5 mons for no reason.
Hey BKC I've been play testing Nidoqueen in OU as of recent and been finding it pretty decent. I wanna read up your thoughts on that pokemon. I've been playing lots of standard mons to a point where I feel comfortable introducing cool ideas for gen 3. Others comment on this too to help out the algorithm :^) Nidoqueen. Leftovers Impish (+Def, -SpAtk) 192 HP / 128 Atk / 176 Def / 12 SpDef - Sludge Bomb - Earthquake - Protect - Thunderbolt / Ice Beam I designed this EV spread with the intent of surviving an Adamant Salamence/Metagross Earthquake while in pristine condition. It also survives Jolly Band Dugtrio with a 95.9% highest roll. The 128 attack EVs are in for always KOing Dugtrio with Earthquake and 1 layer spikes damage. The 12 EVs into Special Defence makes the Zapdos matchup even more easy with HP grass from Modest dealing 29.5% max while sludge bomb deals a good chunk back. Ice beam for Flygon / Salamence and Thunderbolt for not being walled by Skarmory while still hitting Starmie on the switch and Cloyster for over half damage. You can also run Shadow Ball for hitting Gengar. Nidoqueen is also best run with Tyranitar to provide Nidoqueen with more favourable matchups. Nidoqueen also blocks Toxic and Thunder Wave which is why I like it
Just from that title I'm curious since I think I remember you recently saying that Raikou wasn't that good anymore in ADV OU. HERE WE GO, MORE DELICIOUS NUTRITIOUS BKC CONTENT.
20:35 thinking about the thought process behind this had me laughing. "What if we gave it maximum power. Just all the way, no holds barred, balls to the wall power.". That and my experience with Tar is gen 4+. So a special attack ohko'ing it in itself was immediately kinda funny to me.
the roar set is very cool with p2! You can rip holes with Zap after you: trap Dug, bait out electric checks, and use your own dug on their special wall. Raikou+Zap=ElectricSpam?
I still don't get why use Raikou over Jolteon on any team if you don't have Calm Mind. Its faster and has volt absorb. Is it the slightly higher power of Raikou or its bulk?

@@tecul1 I’m having fun using scarf raikou in gen 4. Outspeeds most of the common scarfers, especially Flygon. Catches a lot of people by surprise

Raikou is easily the second-best electric to rise to the forefront of OU in the past year.

Mainly cause it hits harder (modest) as well marginally better bulk for an offensive mon
If u dont mind pokemon with 115+ speed, electric immunity, and not having baton pass raikou is just better jolteon
