    Guys I made a playlist of all of BKC's Podcast like videos th-cam.com/play/PLfzZRttG03XZn-tppj6_RwHVsBtMQ0HQX.html
    There was some other dude who did this as well but he had a bunch of videos missing and had a lot of visual heavy videos in there as well and has stopped updating them, so I went in there and I made one myself.

    “You don’t have to use girafirig do be innovative”
    Very true, wish more people got this. Even something like using a slightly different move set or ev spread with a standard team can surprise an opponent enough to get an advantage.

      @@Mimi-qe7qz or toxic + gastroacid and I can’t remember if whirlpool blocking worked on magic guard.. but if so use it cause this goes on a toxapex. (At least I think gastroacid though it may be another poison type move haven’t used it in a while). Basically it was to beat clefable by toxicing the clef. Letting the toxic turns tick as it’s trapped then using gastroacid to remove magic guard and all the turns of toxic actually count so it’ll deal max damage

    Great video man always love to see innovation in ADV! And a great history lesson for more recent players such as myself.
    Something I really like about that team is how you have both focus punchers alongside starmie, you successfully divide up all skarm sets since skarms with toxic get shredded by strong focus punches, while if they are drill peck they find it immensely difficult to get its layers vs defensive starmie. overall just a really clean balance of passive and punish which really is the make or break for these starmie balances I find.
    The only issue I have with these kinda yama + wishmence + starmie kinda teams can be really taken advantage of by offensive celebi and jirachi sets, but hey, you cant always cover everything!
    Also just a quick question, is there any extra reasoning for running 270 on celebi, i feel like if you have wishmence then you dont need to creep heracross like that since you have the very greatest hera counter in adv. maybe i missed something.

    • @BKCplaysPokemon
      @BKCplaysPokemon  3 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      thanks for the comment, you're spot on about the skarm coverage. I believe I mentioned it in the video but celebi absolutely needs to be fast for offensive suicune. the backup against hera certainly doesn't hurt since wishmence can have trouble against lefties sd stuff.

    • @H3nzWatermess
      @H3nzWatermess 3 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      @@BKCplaysPokemon ah true yes i can see that speed helping massively especially vs sub suicunes theres nothing more frustrating then losing to a sub cm suicune all because it simply 1v1s celebi. thanks for the reply, i hope you get the chance to do more videos like this in the future!

    I just finished a game with this team where a guy's starmie missed my hariyama before a guts boosted hidden power bug OHKO'ed it. The guy then told me that hax ruins this game. It gave me immense satisfaction to then reply with the calc that shows that this hariyama lives that hit 100% of the time even at 65% with the spdef investment. Love the team.

I'm on my second full watchthrough of hopefully many. Thank you for the lesson.

    • @BKCplaysPokemon
      @BKCplaysPokemon  3 ปีที่แล้ว +38

      it's not exactly low in viability - everyone who plays adv knows and values what yama can do. it's just not that easy to slap onto a team, which is what holds it back in comparison to higher-ranked pokes.

Semi related question, is protect usable on offensive Swampert? I've tried dropping eq or focus punch for it since the little bit of lefties is nice for Aero, but I'm not sure if the trade off is worth it.

    (Comment for algorithm)
    For some reason I got my hands on a huge box of extra cheesy goldfish, and I was like what the hell, no reason to let them go to waste, so I started eating them while watching a BKC video, and I ate half the box without noticing by the time the video finished. My stupid ass then proceeded to do the exact same thing like 3 days later, and now whenever I see a BKC video I start craving extra cheesy goldfish, which feels childish. I then realized that I'm watching hour and a half long pokemon analysis videos and resigned myself to my childishness.

    Ever try Rhydon in the Marowak slot on this team? You lose a bit of power and ability to emergency check Zapdos (and other special threats with water/grass coverage), but the longevity of leftovers and STAB Rock Slide is very nice. Love the Sub + 3 attacks Rhydon set with para support like this, sub + SD is good too but megahorn behind sub is great for the Celebi weakness of this team

    • @yourdagan

      Defense EVs have a bigger impact for a given defensive stat than HP EVs do. HP EVs yield less resistance if you pick one or the other; the advantage is that it helps both defensive stats rather than just one.

    Great comments on what innovation is. Optimization, expected value, and cleaner gameplay is what innovation can be. It's not limited to just XD Pachirisu XD. I think a good sign that someone is talking out of their ass and only superficially cares about a game is when they say "yeah but it's just the same stuff every time there's no diversity" with nothing else to add. Look at the changes to RBY around moves like Sing or Eggy. Innovation doesn't mean making a Pimpnite video title for something like Watchhog

      I am always just wishing Flygon got more stats. Even with a Band, it doesn't hit that hard. Even defensively invested, it isn't that durable despite it's typing and ability. And Mixed sets are just not threatening enough. Flygon has so many good traits for it (not affected by Spikes and Sandstorm, very good speed, excellent movepool, versatility) but it just doesn't have the raw stats to make it work that well, at least not anymore imo. And if that's already true in ADV, for other generations that's just a thousand times worse (ffs, if it's still viable in OU in gen 4 it's mostly because it was one of the very few dragon to not get banned, because it wasn't strong enough (plus U-Turn). If only it got just a bit more of a leg up ....
