I have no idea why, but from 1:08:07 to 1:12:51, my mic decided to completely crap out on me. I'm just thankful it was only that short. here's a quick version of what was covered: despite not doing anything to help with physmag's biggest issues, hera is worth using because it packs unmatched sweeping prowess, thus making it able to turn the tide in a bad matchup like nothing else. regarding the team: pursuit metagross is necessary for gengar, so suicune is chosen in the last slot to help against ttar while switching into swampert. I think modest restalk is nice so it can pressure the hell out of blissey/milotic teams while being able to switch into pert/tar more easily, but if you really want to go all-in on removing sand for hera, sub rain dance can work too so you're not entirely reliant on magneton. pursuitgross at least chips gar so that +1 mence and +2 hera can ko it.
I read the title and i thought: 'Oh, Magneton had a Physical set in ADV OU, maybe it makes sense, because Skarmory is not willingly switching into it, though its Base Attack is only 60'. LOL
kinda hard to make work I'd say. Magneton doesn't even learn Explosion in gen 3, so ... :D -at least it gets double edge unlike a certain other exploding electric type-
@@Rose-ez7yn you can do slightly higher damage with HP ground, but only if you switch out special attack stats and nature for attack. Running adamant max attack with soft sand you can reach 87.5% chance to OHKO standard Magnetons(4hp,0def). Modest max special attack with charcoal and you only get 81.3% chance to OHKO. So yeah if you wanna be wacky and go physical attack Magneton you have a slightly higher chance of winning the Magneton mirror matchup, I obviously do not recommend this. You’d be better off investing a little into hp+spdef to live standard set HP fire 100% of the time
This is great, any chance of a "history of ADV" describing the changes in the meta? I was around way back in the NetBattle days and never stayed with comp after that, so anything ADV is a treat to watch. Thank you.
I built a really fun Physical Magneton team with SD Baton Pass Celebi and Ninjask. Machamp, SubLeichi Aero and AgiliGross as recipients. Had a lot of fun with that team! Gross can ‘blow’ through Skarm if Mag fails and with Ninjask setup it can be easy to sweep from there. Was looking out for Ninjask in your video but obviously, a niche pick. Would you ever consider using it competitively?
From someone who enjoys RBY, is semi-decent at GSC and has never actually played a single game of ADV in spite of watching countless narrated games (mostly by Callous), I have two questions. 1. How much are you limiting yourself if you intend to bring Snorlax in each and every ADV game you play? 2. Is it possible to make a playable Magneton/Snorlax offense team using only Gen 1 Pokémon?
1. you're limiting yourself to either various kinds of offense for boomlax (physical, with or without mag, without mag will 100% have a meta) or bulky setup curselax stuff (which tends to be very rigid and inconsistent). 2. seriously doubt it. think mag, snorlax, gyarados, dugtrio, rhydon, zapdos is as close as you can get to something decent.
@@BKCplaysPokemon Thank you very much. Is there a good reason you have the rarely seen Rhydon over something like the more common Aerodactyl in that slot? Never mind, I just realized Rhydon is a rock resist whereas Aerodactyl is another rock weakness on top of Gyarados and Zapdos. Again, thank you very much.
@@ME-kd1ko rhydon is slow for the metagane and dies to common attacks like earthquakes, ice beams, hydro pumps, hp grass, its a defensive pokemon that doesn't have a niche and just dies in 1 hit without being able to set up spikes or anything
it would drop but not by a ton. its stats and typing are still tremendous. it was a top tier pokemon in 200, it just replaced boom with toxic or something.
The first time I used physical offense + Mag was actually against the big 5 + Starmie. Mag did his thing and killed Skarm, and Metagross blew up Swampert. Starmie was scary but died to a +1 Mence HP Flying after sandstorm. I kept Mence healthy the whole battle so that I could use Intimidate to set up my DD against Ttar.

Kevin's unsolicited hot takes are significantly better than videos we ask other TH-camrs to make.

Yes defo!
It could be a series featuring each ADV pokemon. Similar to the FSG series he writes on, but foccused only on advance more in depth
Bro requested a 12 hour video
Perfect timing going out for a long drive
Also a hot take of my own: kindly feature Joey or Blunder(hell why not both) for ADV BL knights
There's so much BKC to listen to and I'm so grateful 😅
Thank you for posting!
The more niche these videos get the more I enjoy them.
Keep up the great content
Love the Miror B background music
very nice video bro :D

that seems like a pretty fun team! yeah I wouldn't mind trying something like that

Have you considered:
Magneton
Snorlax
Salamence
Celebi
Mitotic
Metagross or Forretress?
This is the end of evangelion of adv and we are living in a rebuild world
I feel like bulky offensive celebi is almost mandatory on these teams because of how threatening pert zapdos mie suicune gengar even blissey are
I don't see how he doesn't get more likes on his videos

I think CB Mence fixes alot of the issues mentioned before 25 min

special offense for sure
