I played this game at McDonald’s back when they had it. Bought it as a kid, but felt kind of uncomfortable by the language so I had it returned for something else.
Nothing screams more 2000’s marvel than this game. The Ultimate/2000’s film inspired look, the edgy aesthetic, and the all around feeling that they kinda just didn’t really know fully how this project was gonna go or really what to do with it.
Storm's costume just really made me double take 😂😂 trying to imagine them making a game today with a belly top, thong, thigh-high six-inch heel boot wearing storm just made me laugh
The character designs, the atmosphere, and the tone of the story was very immersive. Everyone looked scary and the places seem dystopian and lifeless as it was devoid of colors, really set the serious tone and it made you constantly look behind you to avert danger. This game is amazing! Wish we could get a remaster or reboot
I remember watching the opening scene as a kid and seeing hulk get taken down by those gliders and going "bullshit" so loud my grandmother said "what did you say!?"
@@pugman9672 same like what the hell you could have done soooooo much more with him getting at least a few licks off of Thanos and still had your big moment at the end with Tony.
I remember a match where you had to beat Elektra as Daredevil while you're 'bleeding out from a knife wound' so you lose health constantly and quickly. It was hard af.
i loved how dark/creepy both the game's aesthetic and the story were Especially in the game's intro where the city is almost in ruins while you can see the Avengers being defeated so easily when they are supposed to earth's mightiest heroes just seeing Cap's shield on a wall with no sign of him, Punisher's banner and weapons on the ground with no sign of him and HULK getting tossed from a building and losing his form like this...really sets the vibe of the game The art style is also uncanny somehow, in the Versus menu you can see all the characters with different poses but the thing is that instead of being fancy to indicate that they are heroes, they look ordinary? mixed with these realistic features on the clothing and their faces
I agree. The intro is what I'd always imagine what a normal civilian would see whenever Thanos, Galactus, the Skrull, the Dark Elves, Dormmamau, Mephisto, Apocalypse and/or Annihilus invade Earth or another world.
I agree. There is just something about that black and green aesthetic on Spider powered characters that is so unnerving. I often use to play as normal Spider-Man and mirror matched just so I could see both Spider-Man and his corrupted self in the same room. Not to mention the fact that Spider-Man sounds evil as hell with the creepy voice overlay corrupted characters got.
Definitely agree! I wouldn’t mind if another developer took a crack at this style of fighting game either. A 3D map with a larger roster of marvel characters would be a lot of fun
@@alwaysnerdyretros If you've never played Spider-Man: Friend or Foe, you might be happy to learn that there's an optional versus mode in that game that's a 3D arena fighter like you see here in Marvel Nemesis.
To me it’s crazy that this game wasn’t better known, I spent so many hours after I finished the main story and side missions just making scenarios in my imagination. I loved everything about this game and seeing a modern version would be interesting
Hands down, this was my one of my favorite marvel games to ever exist 🙌. I just never knew how to do the "fatalities". I'd just button mash and sometimes it'd work lol
When this game came out I was in the hospital dealing with terrible ulcerative colitis and about to have my large intestine removed. Many people on staff would come and visit and play video games with me and the demo for this game was one of the more popular games in my room. The full game turned out to not be so great but I'll never forget the impact this game had on my happiness at that time.
What you said about the imbalance of characters was spot on. It was the best part of the game imo. Wolverine has always been my favorite Marvel character so using him was a challenge but what was always more important to me was that it was accurate. Spider-Man can throw a car because Spider-Man can. Wolverine can't. I also loved that it was like a free roam type of fight. Not left to right. It made the fights accurate to how they were supposed to look. Man EA used to make great games. Fight Night, Def Jam, this, NBA Street series. It all went to crap when the PS3 era began.
For the longest time I thought I was the only person on Earth who knew about this game. The character intros and outros are pure nostalgia. Absolutely a product of its time.
If I recall, Marvel ACTUALLY does own the rights to the Imperfects. It was discovered when an Artist for "Marvel Universe vs Avengers" accidently put the Imperfect Hazmat in a groupshot instead of Hazmat from Avengers Academy. I think that since the game was contract work with a copyright, any new characters automatically went to the copyright holder and not the game publisher. If EA wanted to own the characters, then they would've had to produce something involving them in a standalone product prior to Marvel Nemesis
I see. I was actually going to comment that if EA does own the characters, I wouldn't mind seeing a new game starring them. I heard that they actually wanted to a story driven single player game but were contractually required to make a fighting game. They could make a more story driven game with the Imperfects, flesh them out more. I actually did really like their designs and backstories. If Marvel owns the copyright though, then that's too bad. We'll probably never see them again.
"EA-created "Imperfect" comic book characters, oddities as The Wink, Niles Van Roekel and Brigade -- gamers hated the game's unbalanced fighting system, as it was clear that some characters had a far bigger advantage than others. On top of that, bad graphics and poor AI bugs plagued the release. Shortly thereafter, EA and Marvel's partnership fizzled, coming to an official close in 2008 without seeing the release of any further games. This wasn't for a lack of trying it would appear, as earlier this week, Siliconera ran across newly released concept art and a short video for a follow-up that was never released, with only the occasional glimpse of it surfacing in various gaming media outlets over the years. By looking at the concept screens and video clip released by one of the EA Chicago artists involved with the Marvel project, we can glean a few details details about the potential sequel to "Nemesis." Judging from one concept screen, it appears that the game featured a Campaign mode, similar to the one featured in "Nemesis." Even more intriguing is the mode sitting next to it, titled "What If?" which may have mixed things up significantly between the Marvel characters and the batch of Nemesis freaks, or even possibly presenting alternate realities based on the classic Marvel series of the same name. In addition, a My Collection option appears on the main menu, presenting the possibility that characters and maybe even virtual comic books could be unlocked over the course of the campaign, for the player to root through in their own free time. Two more screens illustrate the likelihood that the game would have stuck with the 3D combat of the original "Nemesis," including the ability to run around freely on a stage while holding down a trigger to keep "locked on" to an enemy, so all attacks could be focused on him or her. Other offensive controls included the ability to mix up weak and strong strikes, as well as item interaction (possibly with items to pick up within the stage, such as crates or lamp posts to be used as projectiles) and running tackles. One other notable feature in the gameplay is the addition of a Super Power Modifier, which would have probably taken advantage of each character's ability. For instance, Spider-Man would have been able to use his webbing to some capacity, while Captain America could easily throw his shield to some degree, or maybe even use it in a super-charging attack. And who knows what kind of damage Hulk or Wolverine could have wreaked. In addition to Captain America, Hulk and Spider-Man appearing in the screenshots and video, the lesser known US Agent also appears as a playable option, hinting at a potentially larger pool of characters to choose from than the original "Nemesis." Indeed, the sole trailer for the game from 2007 showed Spidey facing off against Doctor Doom, while Cap went toe-to-toe with the Juggernaut. Beyond the screens and video, a commenter on the Siliconera story claiming to have been an EA game tester who worked on this particular project bolsters our read on the screenshots. He describes the game as taking a "psuedo-sandbox" approach to the gameplay, featuring interactive, destructible environments, civilians running around as you battle other characters and and an open city to explore. This is further supported by another video from 2007 showing gameplay footage while the developers brag about "every square inch" of the environment being destructible, damage appearing on the characters and working hard to emulate look of Marvel's comic book offerings. Again, it's all concept-stage art and footage, but you can see where EA Chicago was doing its best to improve upon "Nemesis." It's incredibly unlikely we'll ever find out, however, leaving the fate of the Imperfects -- whom Marvel owns the rights to as part of the original partnership deal -- in limbo." this is the official report for the game so what u "recall is inaccurate" ea's created characters the imperfect is what they own just like nba street's drake, Stretch and etc just like the other ea's created characters like def jam fighting series like d-mob and more. so stop ur bullshit
Me too but sadly they would probably be shelved forever unless for some reason Marvel bought the rights. (it would be interesting if that is the case as would like to see how Marvel would update and remake these characters.)
I remember the story being really hard and annoying (especially the flying enemies), but playing the versus mode with siblings and just throwing buses at each other was the most fun thing ever. x)
@@stoneymitchell3821 Except for some of those dumb timed platformer gauntlet levels with the weird bladed woman. I always hated those. But as far as the player vs computer fights went, they weren't too hard once you learned how to spam L1 and R1 ranged attacks.
I was an audio tester for the console versions of Nemesis at EA in Burnaby. This video brought up some bittersweet memories for me. As a huge Marvel fan back in the day I was so excited about the potential only to be disappointed with with the result. (Why create Imperfects when there are perfectly fine Marvel characters to use???). This was an end of 6th gen console lifecycle game release and I remember after the game came out loads of people from the team and company wide got laid off(including myself) in order to cut down on overhead during the console transition period. Put me off of gaming for years, until I got a Switch and have been making up for lost time! Thanks for the retrospective!
Thank you for sharing your experience! Although, it sounds like you don’t have particularly good memories associated with this game. It’s a shame things didn’t turn out better for everyone involved. It sounds like things are much better for you now though! It’s nice to hear your passion for gaming has been reignited :)
@@alwaysnerdyretros thanks it's been cool to pick it up again after a hiatus. Loving the indie scene! Also creators like you are doing a great job documenting the industry and the games. It is a bit of a golden age right now.
This was one of my favorite guilty pleasures growing up. The Story mode got boring but I did spend hours in VS mode doing all kinds of match ups. A modern interpretation of this game is needed. Linear single player missions with a party style multiplayer vs modes. It’s a classic just waiting.
Only burner for me in Story Mode (other than how it DRAGS ON) is the attempt to sell the Imperfects' own little Mary Sue Amazon Chick...I hate that character for that reason (also her stats but then again she is fightable as her stuff telegraphs easy and can be jumped over)
I absolutely love this game. I remember when me and my cousin deadass spent hours jumping off the bridge map to unlock all the characters instead of doing the story mode. Good times
@@KBJL9498 I think you had to jump off the bridge like 10 time and you’d unlock a character, then a stage, then a character. It was LONG but anything to unlock daredevil lol
Always Nerdy? More like “Always Delivering Quality Content” Another great review! I remember playing this game with my dad during visitations and loving it. A recent playthrough left me feeling kind of meh, but it will always have a place in my heart. Keep up the awesome work!
Ultimate Spider-Man would be an awesome game to do a retrospective on. Honestly, I played that wayy more than Spider-Man 2 the game since the use 3D Comic Shading (I think thats what they called it ) helped make it feel like you were -in- the comic book as well as how the cutscenes used comic panels to further illustrate that aesthetic which really set it apart from the movie games that came out at that time.
@@ihormuzyka8553 I know. But in interviews and press releases at that time, the devs specifically used the phrasing 3D Comic Shading or Comic Inking Animation to illustrate how the engine they used for the game would make it appear as if it were a living comic-book.
Always great to see some love for Ultimate Spider-Man! I've wanted another game with those stylistic choices for *so* long. With today's graphical techniques, I can only imagine how alive the comic would actually be.
I loved that game too, especially since you got to play as Venom and in his introduction level you fuckin EAT the annoying kid who kept losing his Balloon from Spider-Man 2, and then you immediately get a boss battle with fuckin Wolverine, it was dope, I just wish it was longer or it had a sequel or something.
This was the most Sigma game ever made. Johnny Ohm telling Daredevil *"Mind Over Matter, baby; I don't Mind, and you don't Matter."* is my favorite quote of all time, I want it carved on my tombstone
This video has definitely brought a smile to my face cuz I used to be obsessed with this game when I was a kid with a childhood friend and whenever Spider-Man made his first appearance in the story mode. Beating one alien enemy after another & only making him out by his fist & leg kicks just filled me with excitement when he showed up & given the fact that his costume in game looks very inspired by the Tobey Maguire costume with the silver webs and the eyes very slightly along with Venom being included it made for great childhood conversations of what Venom could have been &/or looked like for Spider-Man 3 since the movie did not come out yet. (Plus as another interesting tidbit from me, the game also gave me a lot of vibes for what a Killer Instinct 3 game could have been like at the time before the 2013 Xbox reboot, since the human torch and a few resemble the cast you would see in a Killer Instinct game along with the daily bugle representing the iconic 3D rooftop stages)
When I was little I was just under the impression that they were kidnapped or knocked out but realizing that Cap, Punisher and Hulk were straight up killed is fucking terrifying. Not so much Cap and Punisher but the fact that the aliens managed to kill The Hulk means they’re not to be fucked with.

Hulk dying like that is so laughable today, considering the Imperfects intro is basically just the first Avengers MCU film finale. The dude fell out of the sky through a builidng and was fine. Here, he gets killed by one of his main attacks: jumping through heavy objects and breaking them on everyone.
My mom had sent me a PS2 with this game and Def Jam Vendetta, when I was just 7. 😩 Both of these games have always stuck with me, I don’t care about ratings, this game is one of the best marvel games ever made. Daredevil and Spider-Man were always my favorite. 💯

This is seriously one of the best breakdowns I’ve ever seen of a video game. You really covered just about everything and went into great detail. You can tell that this was a game you were passionate about. It’s very refreshing to see an analysis/essay video that isn’t summarizing the plot.
Bro I thought this game was perma killing the heroes when you fought them as the imperfects so I strategize which heroes I would try to keep alive. Those cards you got after battles and character infos were misleading because it seemed that the Character was killed. It turned out they weren't full on killing them as much as they imprisoned them and used them on their side.
The main think I remember about this game is the dark main theme, twisted story, how marvel characters kinda died in it. Was off putting, because before I played ultimate alliance and the X men legend games. Wasn’t used to seeing marvel characters in such a dark world
Bro, I didn't even know I still remembered Spidey saying, "You know what we call that? We call that a web slingin ass kickin." I WAS LIKE, 8 YEARS OLD! WHY DO I STILL REMEMBER THAT?!
I thought the soundtrack for this game was pretty cool and different from something we were used to. It reminded me of Danny Elfman’s Batman score but more fitted for edgy 2000’s Marvel.
I played this on the ps2 as a kid. I had gotten really into Marvel because of Ultimate Alliance and saw this game. I remember the gameplay being kinda whack. I remember the Venom stuff pretty vividly
God I couldn't agree more, I remember playing this game on the gamecube as kid. I found the whole story incredibly cheesey and went back to playing Ultimate Alliance for the 15th time. However, the line from Venon "You [insert tongue slurping noises] you don't stand a chance hahaha" always elicits a chuckle from my brother and I.
Always love how dark the story is miss playing Marvel Nemesis on the PSP back in the day to bad the sequel couldn't fully been finished since EA Games went bankrupt and shut down.
I remember showing this game to my friends and none of them knew what it was but they were in love with it. They’d beg to come play after school. Still to this day they talk about that game
Gotta give props to EA for designing very unique characters. I would petition them to officially join Marvels cast tbh. Hazmat is gross and really clever, paragon is badass, and wink would be sick to fight Nightcrawler. That Black and Green Spiderman costume still is my favorite skin ever in a game.
Wink always struck me as being like Nightcrawler with more of a Mystique vibe about her, which I guess tracks, since the two blue mutants are mother and son.

You said it better than I ever could have. This was one of my first ever games on my Xbox and I played it over and over again! The main theme will randomly pop into my head over the years and sadly I no longer have the disc or a console to play it on. Great retrospective, Keep em up! I haven't explored much of your channel yet but I hope you have a video on X2: Wolverines Revenge or Justice League Heroes!!
I miss when games were actually games. You had to progress through the game to unlock characters. Now it’s all about how much money you can dump into a game.
Dlc is incredibly increased a smgame's longevity. Back in the day, sure you'd unlock the base roster, but then the game dies in a year, and then the company pumps out a sequel in the next year. Attention spans are worse now, especially when there are so many fighting games on the market now. Final thing to add, is how things are more expensive for the companies, but the games themselves remain the same price. You don't have to buy dlc anyways.
I believe that DLC vs unlockables isn't really an argument. DLC is content that was created after a game's launch while unlockables are obviously already in the game. I think the reason we don't really see unlockables in fighting games anymore is due to how much the competitive scene is rising. In the past, the biggest demographic were casuals with some competitive players. Now however, there are a lot more competitive gamers or players in the middle. For that reason, I believe they stopped having unlockables because the competitive players want to test all the characters out and find the best strats, not go through the story mode or do miscellaneous tasks. I also think online play has made unlockables more irrelevant. In the past, unlockables encouraged longevity because it rewarded you for playing the game more. Now that online is the played mode in fighting games, you get rewarded by rising through the ranks and fighting better skilled players.
Sheesh, I wish they’d bring this game back, it’s a hidden, overhated gem. I jailbroke my PS4, and this is one of the games I really wanted to download, but there’s not a good downloadable copy 😩
"Gem" is more like it and it's nowhere near hidden. It was an EA published game based on a HUGE license and was a big deal when released as it came out on practically every major system available at the time, including portable systems.
I liked it well enough. I did enjoy an the throwing shit at people mechanics. It def needed a little more balance and polish. And the Imperfect characters were pointless.
I sure did love so many Marvel games on the PlayStation 2 back in the 2000s. What a joy it was to grow up in that generation! All these years later, videos like this make me incredibly nostalgic though I am of course more cognizant of the flaws in some of those old titles that I enjoyed so much when I was 13.
Yea I remember that too. A lot of the stronger characters were innately better too because the heaviest objects others couldn’t throw did the most damage
45:20 there isnt a single fighting game where everyone is perfectly balanced. the top tiers only become a problem if there is a lack of counters, options, or viable characters that can realistically compete.
Least the Amazon Chick could actually get COUNTERPLAYED as all of her Projectiles are heavily telegraphed and either remain ground only or otherwise going in a straight line. THEY HURT but least they are a rather easy projectile to dodge.
There is lots of fighting games where everyone is balanced. Any fighter where the characters are the same. Footsies is the first at the top of my head. I get what you mean tho
This game just straight has characters that are worse versions of others. No real reason to play guys like wolverine, thing, and Elektra. Atleast low tiers like Roll, Gigas, etc have a unique playstyle. Wolverine......just pulls some claws out for a damage buff.
A challenge mode would’ve been great. Honestly, that’s what keeps me into games that I have beaten with such a long story. I’ll hop into the four unleashed or X-Men origins Wolverine just so that I can feel OP and have fun destroying enemies that fear me
This literally was one of Marvels greatest games ever made ..from the variation of characters in story mode ! To the VS features , throwing cars and throwing dudes thru pillars !! the fact they are not smart enough to release a second is insane !
This was one of my first games on GameCube and I played it so much. I honestly don’t remember anything about it or even the fact that there was a story mode. I think it’s because I just played the vs mode. But seeing that character select screen was so nostalgic. Thank you sm for the video!
Yeah, this game had a lot of potential. Even though I like how dark it was, but it could of been better. Regardless, I still had fin playing this as a kid. It was my first time hearing about the Avengers and seeing Wolverine and Spider-Man in the same game was like a dream come true! Enjoyed This video
a sequel will be lit...this game had the potential to a open world (new york) type stuff and i really want to see other character, Hulk, Thor, Carnage, Black Panther...Silver Surfer even
Oh, damn. This is the first time I had memories rushing back from a game I thought I've totally forgotten. Trying to unlock everyone, Venom vs Spiderman, Johnny Storm vs Johnny Ohm, those marvel heroes deaths, and that linkin park color grading.
I wouldn’t mind a reworked version of this game. Making the story more engaging with a larger scope, some more diverse gameplay, incorporating a larger cast of characters and more focus on the Marvel universe, making the Imperfects and their leader more mysterious and straightforward villains with more conflict with the Avengers themselves. I wouldn’t mind having the final battle Iron Man vs The Creator(I can never remember his name)
The cutscenes remind me of Sin City where they use live action actors but make it look like a comic putting style over substance which that movie coincidently was released in 2005.
This was my avengers crossover as a kid. They were just missing blade. The idea of a Bully McGuire and Ben Affleck Daredevil crossover was the most exciting thing, especially when you realize they aren’t guaranteed a happy ending

The part about not recognizing the voice actors but ultimately not needing the big names to pull great performances is so true. The voice actor for Niles Van Roekel sounds so familiar to me I would have sworn he was in other works especially with that "evil scientist" voice, but looking him up I found a) he also voices Johnny Ohm, which is awesome and b) he voiced Nappa, Nail, Spopovich, the World Tournament Announcer, Shin, Kibito Kai and King Cold in Ocean Group's dub of DBZ, so I mean, if it wasn't obvious from him being both Roekel and Ohm, the dude has range.
Me and a close friend used to fight religiously on here. Paragon, Iron Man, and Magneto were some of the best characters in this game. Venom was pretty OP too.
I don't know if anyone else ever noted thi, but the alien-enchance alts for all the characters did have different effects from the Turlem devices. I used to play Venom alot and in the daily Bugle stage his normal self can't lift the water tower, but alien-enchance form could.

Especially in the game's intro where the city is almost in ruins while you can see the Avengers being defeated so easily when they are supposed to earth's mightiest heroes
just seeing Cap's shield on a wall with no sign of him, Punisher's banner and weapons on the ground with no sign of him and HULK getting tossed from a building and losing his form like this...really sets the vibe of the game
The art style is also uncanny somehow, in the Versus menu you can see all the characters with different poses but the thing is that instead of being fancy to indicate that they are heroes, they look ordinary? mixed with these realistic features on the clothing and their faces
I agree. The intro is what I'd always imagine what a normal civilian would see whenever Thanos, Galactus, the Skrull, the Dark Elves, Dormmamau, Mephisto, Apocalypse and/or Annihilus invade Earth or another world.
I remember playing this all the time on GameCube and trying to beat the game for hours and hours in one sitting because I didn’t have a memory card
Spider-man's and venom's corrupted skins imo were some of their coolest designs ever
You can't call it an opinion when you're speaking straight facts!
I think that was probably my favorite part about unlocking new characters in the game, seeing their corrupted skins

U are correct I believe
"If I recall" even though there's never any reports on what you so called "recall"
By looking at the concept screens and video clip released by one of the EA Chicago artists involved with the Marvel project, we can glean a few details details about the potential sequel to "Nemesis."
Judging from one concept screen, it appears that the game featured a Campaign mode, similar to the one featured in "Nemesis." Even more intriguing is the mode sitting next to it, titled "What If?" which may have mixed things up significantly between the Marvel characters and the batch of Nemesis freaks, or even possibly presenting alternate realities based on the classic Marvel series of the same name.
Again, it's all concept-stage art and footage, but you can see where EA Chicago was doing its best to improve upon "Nemesis." It's incredibly unlikely we'll ever find out, however, leaving the fate of the Imperfects -- whom Marvel owns the rights to as part of the original partnership deal -- in limbo."
this is the official report for the game so what u "recall is inaccurate" ea's created characters the imperfect is what they own just like nba street's drake, Stretch and etc just like the other ea's created characters like def jam fighting series like d-mob and more. so stop ur bullshit
so no there's never been any reports of ea losing rights to their own created characters it doesn't even make sense either with that logic

@@phabiorules True. A lot of people don't know that the original PS2 version of MvC2 made you unlock most of the characters.
Sheesh, I wish they’d bring this game back, it’s a hidden, overhated gem. I jailbroke my PS4, and this is one of the games I really wanted to download, but there’s not a good downloadable copy 😩
how do you jailbreak your ps4? im bout to try it rn
Keep spamming Sony's Twitter

I sure did love so many Marvel games on the PlayStation 2 back in the 2000s. What a joy it was to grow up in that generation! All these years later, videos like this make me incredibly nostalgic though I am of course more cognizant of the flaws in some of those old titles that I enjoyed so much when I was 13.
You are correct I can’t tell you how many times I had to retry the venom, wanton destruction level. That one is definitely rage inducing.
This game was ahead of its time. So much fun memories with this game. A hidden gem for sure. Wish they could remaster this.
I remember this, I play as wolverine all the time, but man he is so outclassed by other characters, especially with ranged attacks
That was why he was my favorite. You had to be really good to beat so.e of the other characters. Dodge left dodge right jump roll attack!
Yea I remember that too. A lot of the stronger characters were innately better too because the heaviest objects others couldn’t throw did the most damage
I used to drain his meter just so I can fight with the claws out
45:20 there isnt a single fighting game where everyone is perfectly balanced. the top tiers only become a problem if there is a lack of counters, options, or viable characters that can realistically compete.
So many memories 😢
A challenge mode would’ve been great. Honestly, that’s what keeps me into games that I have beaten with such a long story. I’ll hop into the four unleashed or X-Men origins Wolverine just so that I can feel OP and have fun destroying enemies that fear me
This literally was one of Marvels greatest games ever made ..from the variation of characters in story mode ! To the VS features , throwing cars and throwing dudes thru pillars !! the fact they are not smart enough to release a second is insane !
They had EA Chicago developing an indirect sequel back at the start of the PS3 era but EA Chicago got shut down after that crappy Def Jam Icon game.
Do we really want modern EA to make a sequel to this game? Hell do we really want modern EA to make anything for that matter?
@@Dreeza68955 EA can sign the rights over to someone who can really make this game better
@@BlackOmEga_2099 Yeah that'd be cool, but at the same time you're asking EA not to be the greedy, greasy, and shady.
I loved this game so much. Also the quote un-quote "fatalities" you could do in the game.
The art by jae lee is one of the best part of this game (besides the soundtrack).
I'm so glad to see I wasn't the only one that not only remembered this game but also loved it!
Enjoyed This video
i really miss playing this game
it had single player campaign beat em up and a fighting game
Use to love this game !
This game was incredible to me. So much fun and pretty creative. I wouldn’t mind a sequel
Same, I’n still very supportive of this concept even though it deserved it’s low score. It got so much other marvel games should steal by
@@dawe964 yeah I definitely understand the scores. I just wish they’d revisit it
a sequel will be lit...this game had the potential to a open world (new york) type stuff and i really want to see other character, Hulk, Thor, Carnage, Black Panther...Silver Surfer even
It was shit, just like your opinion.
It was gonna have a sequel it was in development but eventually canned.
I just like how they made this games atmosphere dark and gritty and not all bright and cartoonish
Finally someone is talking about it. This game used to genuinely scare me. But I loved this game to death, the art direction, the UI, and Johnny ohm 😎
Playing Spider-Man and looking though his suits made me think of this. I played this all the time with my older brother it was so much fun. I would love to play this game again now that I’m older
Spiderman suit and voice same like Maguire...I love it😍
venom: “now let’s see if *i* can find *my* old friend”
my nerdy pet peeve is when venom doesn’t say we, us, our, etc… smh game ruined
He could have had a better symbiosis to the main one because there are instances where he uses I
I'm just going to chalk it up to mentally merging them due to the device
Why would he say we?
@@theawesomeduo54 venom is two different beings Eddie Brock the human and the alien symbiote So they just they/them pronouns because they are two beings in one
Shit I had an idea for that particular part where he put that thing on as to what he’d say instead.
“Another has joined us in our quest for vengeance… now, let’s see if we can find… OUR old friend!”
I was just thinking about this game a few days ago. Some of the original characters were great, and my friends and I played the local versus to death. the local multiplayer made this game one of our most frequent versus games, right alongside Smash Bros Melee and Marvel vs Capcom 2.
This game will always have a special place in my heart, played it so much on long car rides as a kid.
i love how stark just gets clapped by roekel within like ten seconds or so of him beating brigade lmao
I wish Hazmat would have been inducted into the Marvel roster for good. He was so cool! "It is my curse to be alive"
I love this game. So many fun memories of my cousins and I yelling from how immersed we were in the gameplay. The artstyle in the menu and character selection screen are awesome and the soundtrack is top notch. To this day, I hope that some company gives this game a remake because the mechanics and characters (even the imperfects) were very interesting.
God this game was a staple in my childhood truly underrated
I just started thinking about this game again and all the fun I used to have just having Spider-man and Venom face off. Really well done review!
The part about not recognizing the voice actors but ultimately not needing the big names to pull great performances is so true. The voice actor for Niles Van Roekel sounds so familiar to me I would have sworn he was in other works especially with that "evil scientist" voice, but looking him up I found a) he also voices Johnny Ohm, which is awesome and b) he voiced Nappa, Nail, Spopovich, the World Tournament Announcer, Shin, Kibito Kai and King Cold in Ocean Group's dub of DBZ, so I mean, if it wasn't obvious from him being both Roekel and Ohm, the dude has range.
this is where i have the vague childhood memory of cap getting crushed by debris
Me and a close friend used to fight religiously on here.
Paragon, Iron Man, and Magneto were some of the best characters in this game. Venom was pretty OP too.
I remember playing this game growing up and being obsessed with wink. Her history and her powers made her such an interesting character.
This was such a good game for its time. “I’m here to open a can of whoop ass!”
Man I can just imagine doom amazing dialogue like” Foot Dive! Foot Dive! Foot Dive! Foot Dive”
I don't know if anyone else ever noted thi, but the alien-enchance alts for all the characters did have different effects from the Turlem devices. I used to play Venom alot and in the daily Bugle stage his normal self can't lift the water tower, but alien-enchance form could.
